Job Summary:
This position has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. General Labourer requires knowledge of scrap grading or have the ability to learn. The General Labourer will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, depolluting ELV vehicles, and performing general maintenance duties. The General Labourer will be expected to safely perform a variety of tasks in order to accomplish daily requirements. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Operate the equipment used to depollute vehicles, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.

Your Qualifications:
- Must pass entrance exam.
- 1-3 years industrial/manufacturing experience. Brick Mason experience a plus.
- Ability to work Monday - Friday, 4am to 1pm with some overtime and could involve occasional weekend work.

Your Purpose:
Plan, lay out, and perform all operations necessary to lay brick and refractory in order to build, rebuild, and re-line ladles, electric-arc furnaces, roofs, tundishes, and other steel-making vessels.
Your Work:
- Complete a range of duties that are highly repetitive and routine in nature in order to properly and effectively lay refractory brick to build, rebuild, re-line, or patch electric-arc furnaces, ladles, tundishes, and other steel-making vessels.
- Operate pendant crane as needed to move refractory material to and from storage area.
- Cut brick to size using pneumatic tools to ram material, walls, tundishes, and other areas as required.
- Remove burned or damaged brick and clean surface of vessel using sledgehammer, pry bar, brick hammer, and/or pneumatic chipping gun.
- Spread or spray refractories over exposed bricks to protect bricks against deterioration by heat using a trowel or gunning machine.
- Perform refractory work at the Furnace.
- Assemble and disassemble ladle slide gate and/or tundish slide gate for maintenance inspection.
- Perform minor burning with torch, lance, and welding as needed.
- Support trialing of new refractory products.
- Operate mobile equipment to lift and transport materials including loaders, cranes, man-lifts, brick-lift, and forklifts.
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.

BASIC FUNCTION:
As part of the North American logistics team, provide analysis, technical support, and carrier communications to maintain transportation structures, systems, and ongoing freight services for Gerdau Long Steel North America. Your Qualifications:
AS degree in Mechanical, Engineering, or Electrical Technologies OR GED/ High School diploma AND Professional certificate in Asset Reliability.
Active CAT I Vibration Analysis Certificate is required.
A minimum of 3 years of predictive maintenance experience.

Your Purpose:
You will be responsible for both performance and analysis of condition-based maintenance surveys of electrical, mechanical and process equipment utilizing Predictive Methods.
Your Work:
Perform condition based maintenance surveys on plant equipment using vibration, thermography, MCE, visual inspections, airborne, ultrasound and other techniques/technologies as appropriate.
Prepare written reports to document inspections and recommendations for preventive actions.
- Support the training of maintenance and operations personnel in basic predictive practices.
- Create Failure Modes Evaluation Analysis (FMEA) and predictive matrix using historical and current equipment data.
Develop maintenance plans and tasks that ensure a proactive process using the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Manage predictive work using a formal, systematic, and analytical approach.
- Develop PdM routes and perform predictive services that facilitate continuous improvement through new condition monitoring and innovative approaches to production processes.

- Obtain and maintain a minimum Level II certification in vibration analysis and thermography: Level II certification and ultrasound along with an advanced MCE certificate.

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. JOB SUMMARY
This project management position also serves in an advisory or consulting capacity coach to all levels of employees, contractors, and plant management. The Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager for the Whitby and Cambridge Mills and will actively participate in the technical development for the Engineering department and maintenance personnel. This position has direct responsibility for specific projects with medium complexity and values ranging from $50,000 up to $5,000,000 or more. The incumbent will be required to travel, possibly for an extended period, to work on CAPEX projects. Project managers at Gerdau are responsible for all aspects of projects; from the development of the investment proposal, to engineering and design, to overseeing fabrication, to construction supervision, and finally to the training of operators and tradespeople.
An Engineer is expected to have valuable experience that improves the quality of execution of projects within the steel industry. The incumbent must have an engineering specialty in at least one field that is applicable to Gerdau’s operations in Ontario, and they must be able to provide value to the business in that field. The applicant must have at least 5 years of previous experience in heavy industry.
WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS
- Project Manager for CAPEX and non-CAPEX projects at the Whitby Mill.
- May be required to complete some projects at our Cambridge Mill
- Integrate new technologies into the plant.
- Train and develop employees in technical and/or project related information.
- Conduct Technical Studies to support CAPEX investments.
- Support process improvement projects where applicable.
- Support operation of the onsite substation and liaise with utility provider as required to maintain compliance with all applicable regulations. Oversee substation modifications, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Development and management of internal engineering and/or project management procedures.
- Create, review, approve and issue engineering drawings as required for modifications, installations, and maintenance/repair purposes. Stamping of drawings is not required.
- Must stay abreast of current technologies.
- Provide engineering services for department projects and cost justification.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing and troubleshooting programs for the plant PLCs and computer control systems.
- Travel will be required, approximately 1 week per quarter.
WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER
- Four-year Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Job Description:
1. Implement plan for efficent daily receiving
2. Use handheld wireless device to properly grade incoming and outgoing scrap deliveries
3. Champion of all scrap grades and non-conforming materials (defines criteria for grading scrap, disseminates internally and externally to achieve the desired quality level)

The Lead Financial Analyst position increases in scope beyond the Sr. Analyst to include analysis, recommendations, and development of ad hoc projects and project management, frequently with little need of validation by the FP&A Manager. The Lead Financial Analyst will typically work as a team lead coordinating and mentoring the other financial analysts.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the development of the annual Financial Operating Plan, long term strategic plan and financial outlook model.

Perform general maintenance and repair operations, to ensure overall plant, equipment, machinery and tools are in good operating condition while working in many of the diversified capacities required by maintenance.
Primary Function:
To inspect, repair, and make welding repairs as necessary, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment, including hydraulic equipment, in a producing unit or assigned areas.
Welding test for Maintenance Technician I consists of welding 3 samples in the horizontal, flat and vertical positions in a Tee formation. Test pieces will be subject to break/bend test by offsite party.
Working Procedures:
- Completes all required regulatory/safety training & will follow all safety rules & requirements including maintaining a clean work area.
- Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done
- Performs preventative maintenance and inspects mill equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear insufficient lubrication, hydraulic system, etc. Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
- Effectively and efficiently dismantles, cleans, repairs (welding repairs when necessary), replaces, installs, maintains, assembles hydraulic equipment and lubricates mechanical equipment by the use of predictive technologies in the capabilities of pipefitter, welder, millwright, assembler, installer, etc.
- Adjusts equipment for proper operating gears, bearing, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits. Operates simple machine tools, such as drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc.
- Babbitts and scrapes bearing as required. Erects scaffolds and performs all rigging as necessary.
- Performs all mechanical repairs as required on cranes and mobile equipment

- Repairs leaks in hydraulic systems. Replaces section of pipe that have sprung leaks. Job Description:

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Product Metallurgist II is primarily responsible for the identification, evaluation, and implementation of product enhancement opportunities. These actions involve the planning, supervision, evaluation and reporting of product trials, and on-site material review at customers’ plants. The Product Metallurgist II has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Manager Technical Services.
Qualifications for this position include possessing a working knowledge of steelmaking production, a four-year from an accredited institution in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a steelmaking environment, preferably with quality control or metallurgy. The incumbent should have a strong knowledge of metallurgy and an understanding of steel manufacturing and techniques used in the melting, refining, and casting of molten steel and/or modern rolling practices. The incumbent must be able to independently apply metallurgical fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of production and maximize the efficiency of the overall operation.
This position is responsible for developing, refining, and communicating the engineering and operating data needed to produce billets and finished products to meet customer
product specifications. Although there are no employees reporting directly to this position, the incumbent does have advisory and training responsibilities for other exempt and hourly production and maintenance employees. The incumbent will be considered a subject matter expert in the knowledge management system and will be expected to contribute to this system. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in metallurgical training of all employees, including employee advanced technical training processes.
The incumbent will visit customers as required when there is a technical issue with the product or new product development opportunities. Additionally, the incumbent will be a technical resource to customers for product requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for both reporting problems to the mill and reporting the analysis and solutions back to the customer. The incumbent will work with external customers to develop solutions that will make the products that they require and that the plant is capable of producing. The Product Metallurgist II shall review all Procedures, Job Aids, One Point Lessons, Specifications, Process Guarantee Tables and SAP – SKU’sPGT’s and SKU’s required to ensure products meet the customer’s expectations. The incumbent will receive/collect, interpret and extrapolate data from the production process in order to monitor current performance against established practices and capabilities, as well as make recommendations on how to improve product quality for the future. This position, reporting to the Engineering Manager, is responsible for local ARP practice implementation and improvement. The Reliability Engineer is primarily responsible for increasing asset availability through the utilization of ARP reliability tools, methods, and practices. Activities require engineering and/or maintenance-based experience in mechanical and/or electrical equipment, preferably those used in steel manufacturing processes and facilities. This position will participate in special projects and engineering activities to improve equipment reliability optimize maintenance costs and reduce equipment downtime. The Reliability Engineer will participate in annual outage planning processes to minimize downtime and ensure all maintenance performance will achieve equipment reliability. Due to the nature of manufacturing operations the incumbent may be required to be on-call and must be available for specific operations or projects. Some travel may be required for training and to support projects.
Basic Function:
Reliability Engineer will provide technical coordination and support for implementing and sustaining Asset Reliability Processes (ARP) to improve safety, equipment reliability, and product quality at optimum efficiency and costs by:
- Detect potential failures using predictive technologies.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data.
- Study operations and failures to lower costs and improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of basic to moderately complex maintenance and repair operations needed to keep the facilities, mobile equipment, and production equipment operating efficiently. Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
2. Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
3. Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
4. Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
5. Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
6. Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
7. Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
8. Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
9. Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
10. Provide excellent customer service.

12. Participation in daily safety routine.
Locations with Rail:
1. For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

NATURE AND SCOPE

General Function:

You Have:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting, preferably with heavy machinery.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position directly reports to the department superintendent. The incumbent will coordinate efforts with the different functional groups both within area of responsibility and other areas of the location. The incumbent will be assigned to an area of responsibility or a specific cell. The incumbent should be detail oriented and must be comfortable dealing with associates at all levels within the organization.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Duties will include controlling the work flow within the area of responsibility, assist in minimizing downtime/breakdowns and maximizing productivity, monitor performance, managing routine processes, and training employees in routine management standards.
2. Facilitate training sessions for operators under a maintained training matrix on the compliance standards, routine methodologies, tools, policies, practices, and processes.
3. Coach and develop the team at failure analysis and support the QIS methodology.
4. Develop performance expectations, audit performance, document findings, and establish corrective action plans.
5. Collaborate with and encourage operators on subjects pertaining to the GBS processes, audits, 5S initiatives, needs assessments, preventive maintenance and safety management processes and procedures, QIS, Kaizen Events, and other
process routine management activities to identify opportunities for improvement and solve problems.
6. Conduct trend analysis, compile, and analyze symptoms and failures.
7. Administer all safety activities. Coordinates all emergency preparedness practices, policies, and procedures.
8. Track performances on control items. Ensure compliance. Design and implement new as well as update existing standards.
9. Audit performance, document findings, and develop corrective action plans.
10. Oversee, contribute to, and support daily routine management activities including the GBS Processes/Tools in the day-by-day work.
11. Establish and negotiate cell goals and manage Action Plans for area/cell of responsibility cell goal achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four year college degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Material Science.
- Three (3) - Five (5) years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with exposure to sandardization and production quality methods.
- Must have strong working knowledge of the steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment.
- Previous exerience in scrap processing, melting, casting, and supervisory/facilitation a must.
- Ability to train and guide people.
- Must have solid interpersonal skills, organizational skills and people management.
