Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering
- Material Sciences/Metallurgy
- Or other applicable degree

Your Qualifications

Your Purpose:
You will manage all aspects of the Melt Shop Mechanical Maintenance Department. This includes managing the upkeep of all Melt Shop manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources, creating/revising maintenance standards, auditing critical tasks, analyzing failures, designing and installing new systems. In addition, you will manage multiple shifts of 15-20 maintenance mechanics and contractors. The main goal of this position is to provide support for the plant production requirements while safely adhering to planned maintenance activities and goals. This position is a day shift, but should also be available on an on-call basis for nights and weekends.
Your Work:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standards (Safety, Environmental, HR, Accounting, etc.).
- Manage maintenance personnel and contractors by setting direction and priorities.
- Manage the hiring, promotion and disciplinary actions for the department.
- Manage team schedule. This includes attendance, overtime, vacation, PTO, shift coverage, etc.
- Conduct Performance Evaluations on direct reports at least once a year.
- Provide training and continuous development plans for all maintenance personnel.
- Drive the Department Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance.
- Develop, communicate and execute departmental plans/goals for cost, delays, PM/PdM and Inspection compliance.
- Track performance of control items and share with the appropriate management team. Must be able to communicate provide formal presentations.
- Develop Annual Action Plans and supports the CAPEX process.
- Manage the down day and annual outage planning.
- Develop and revise maintenance standards (Job Aids, RPs, One Point Lessons, PM, PdM, Inspections, etc.).

- Audit tasks, review data trends periodically, and develop improvement actions as needed.

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly
- General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability
- Problem solving input and contributions as required

ABOUT G. START: GERDAU’S NEXT GENERATION
Gerdau is seeking university students to participate in our G. Start program. G. Start is a paid internship program with the goal of developing students for future technical and managerial positions. Your Purpose:
You will be performing a limited variety of highly repetitive duties to load and secure steel rail spike products into railroad gondola cars, boxcars, or truck trailers for shipment to customer location. You will assist in servicing production lines and transfer finished products to temporary storage locations or dock loading platform.
Your Work:
- Operate a forklift to transfer finished products from the production line and secure with steel banding or shrink-wrap material to palletize product for shipment.
- Move palletized material to a temporary storage inspection station or loading dock.
- Disengage rail car mover lever to position boxcar or gondola into the loading position.
- Prepare a rail car or other specified vehicles to receive the product for shipment. Attach steel strapping material to boxcar interior walls in accordance with standard operating procedures and methods. Ship product palletized or loose as per customer order.
- Operate forklift, or handheld, push-button pendant crane, with or without magnet, to load specified product into the proper vehicle.
- Operate a forklift or pendant crane to unload incoming steel and machine shop supplies, pallets, empty kegs, and steel banding strips. Place supply items at the proper storage locations. Distribute pallets to the production line staging area.
- Check and verify steel heat and bundle numbers, weight, and carbon content as indicated on the shipping invoice; check off an item or indicate shortages and forward to office personnel for processing.
- Operate forklift to empty scrap buckets and return to the production line.
- As directed, assist on the production line as a relief person.

Your Purpose:
You will assist with maintaining
roll/guides inventory, equipment changes, and building the rolling mill stands for production.
Your Work:
- Use shop mathematics together with the use of blueprints, specifications, charts, tables, and computer and precision measuring instruments.
- Assembly of straightener rolls/guides, shear blades, and saw blades and inspect for conformance to specifications.
- Rebuild old guides and rolls, first removing slag with scrapers, pry bars, cutting torches, or hammers.
- Disassemble previously installed mill stands and install and align new rolls.
- Set and adjust bolts to position rolls on mill stands using wrenches and bars.
- Assemble and grease mill stands using hand and pneumatic tools and operate the offline setup verification system.
- Perform equipment changes related to the building of the mill stands, which may include rolls, chocks, lubrication systems, water sprays, and guides.
- Ensure roll/guides and consumable inventory levels are replenished and validated.
- Assist and support mill changeovers and cobble removal.
- Perform routine equipment care, record, and inspection on vehicles and mobile equipment.
- Operate overhead cranes to transfer products or materials.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Central Maintenance General Foreman, the primary focus of this position is to minimizes the impact of shift equipment failures on production processes by supervising the execution of proactive and corrective maintenance activities. This is achieved through the coordination, organization, and direction of activities by the Shift Maintenance Crew consisting of Industrial Electricians, Millwright-Mechanics, and Welder/Fitters. The Maintenance Shift Supervisor will also collaborate with the overall Plant Maintenance team, including day shift Supervisors, Planners, Reliability Engineers, Automation Techs, and Skilled Trades.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:
- Manage shift priorities by evaluating Plant needs and make critical decisions for equipment based on input from trades, operations
- Coordinate Maintenance shift labour during production interruptions or equipment breakdowns
- Assign and oversee proactive shift work including inspections and shop rebuilds
- Assist Maintenance shift labour in diagnosing malfunction in machinery and equipment and actions for resolution
- Conduct daily shift toolbox meetings to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations
- Develop shift maintenance logs or failure analysis reports for equipment delays, parts stock-outs, and all other issues on shift
- Communicate shift details and performance to the maintenance team before, during, and after assigned shifts

BASIC FUNCTION:
In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, business process mapping, testing and analysis to support resolution in relation to digital tools that are critical to our organization's sales processes. The Sales Digital Operations Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the sales team has proper set up within various platforms, as well as customers within the customer portal.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sales Digital Operations Analyst will perform these duties with minimal management validation:
- Digital Tools Administration: Administer and maintain a suite of digital tools critical to the sales processes. This includes user access, set up, permissions and support onboarding new customers and internal users.
- Process Analysis and documentation: Work cross-functionally with Product Owner/s and business to understand the feature requirement and document the process/requirement/data flow as-is/future state to support feature development. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workflow requirements and pain points.
- Training and Support: Provide training to end-users on the effective use of digital tools and updated processes. Offer ongoing support to address user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations. Support will extend to customer and internal facing digital tools. Create and manage Self Help tool for end user training for internal and external tools.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Work with the Data and IT Teams to make sure new and existing feature populate all necessary data to support planned KPIs. Generate and analyze reports on digital tool usage, process performance, and key metrics. Provide insights and recommendations for further improvements based on data analysis.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor the performance of digital tools and processes, identifying opportunities for refinement. Implement enhancements and optimizations to improve overall workflow efficiency. Proactively address problems or challenges as a result of process breakdown, system gaps or user training
- Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Owner, Digital Squads, sales users, IT and external vendors to ensure alignment between tools and business processes. Act as a liaison between end-users and technical teams to facilitate effective communication.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related area.
- 2-4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, marketing analytics or related analytical roles preferred.
- Experience in a process documentation and business requirements gathering.
- Experience with SAP and sales process.
- Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Job Summary:
Plan, lay out, and perform all operations required to install, troubleshoot, repair, construct, modify, calibrate, test, service, and program highly complex equipment in support of steel production operation and related plant facilities. Need to have knowledge of electrical and electronic wiring specification, properties of various materials, and the principles of operation and application of equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic controls and systems, using required knowledge and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fluidic, and electrical systems/components, as well as how they operate.
- Perform rounds and check machinery to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.
- Exercise judgement when troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and all high-voltage systems at or below 480 volts.
- Inspect and perform daily maintenance on all shop machinery, mobile equipment, HVAC Systems, PLC networks, and cranes, and repairs or replaces worn items as required.
- Service the electrical aspect of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems as needed.

Your Purpose:
This position directly reports to the Midlothian Mill Plant Manager. The Solar Pile Shift Lead Operator is responsible for providing efficient and good solar pile products with short lead times and minimal downtime to the SPM operations. This position Shift Lead oversees solar pile production processes with minimal supervision. Your Purpose:

Your Work:
- Work involves a complete range of duties that are highly repetitive and routine in nature to properly and effectively set up ladles to efficiently pour molten metal.
- Set up slide gates. Replace ladle nozzles, patch well block, porous plug, slide gate refractories, and stir pipe when necessary.
- Inspect slide gate refractories, mechanical components, and nozzles for defects and wear. Turn, replace, clean, and lubricate the slide gate as required.
- Inspect ladle lining and handling accessories, including ladle preheater. Check porous plugs with gas for flow and wear and make changes or repairs, patch block as needed.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Enthusiastic greeting of customers and ascertain material grade including all necessary paperwork needed to safely direct all incoming loads to the proper locations throughout the facility.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. Record supplier, truck or car identification, contract number (if appropriate), description and grade of material, gross, tare and net weights, and discharge location of the load. This includes accurate recording of load deductions (non-conforming material), re-pricing as directed by Buyers, printing and distributing scale tickets as required.
- Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
- Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
- Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
- Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
- Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
- Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.
- Constantly maintain radio contact with the appropriate yard personnel including and being aware of Emergency calls and proper handling of different types of situations.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The Raw Materials Purchasing Agent is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap in an economical and efficient manner and establishing and maintaining effective relations with available suppliers including active solicitation of new supply sources, within assigned region. The supplier base will include both established retail processors as well as suppliers whose business is conducted on a direct basis at the retail buying facilities as established at Gerdau mill divisions. This position will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical, and productive relationships with suppliers. It does require travel to complete job duties and maintain an effective network of vendors, mill personnel, and industry organizations.
The Raw Materials Purchasing Agent will coordinate activities with other procurement personnel, transportation, melt shop management, and mill scrap inspection and accounting personnel. This role works closely with transportation to keep them informed of new methods of shipment and carriers that may help minimize overall scrap costs. The incumbent will also keep plant and corporate management abreast of changing market conditions. The incumbent will engage and utilize a network of sources to understand market activity and determine the needs of the mill/s supplied
Another key responsibility will be to provide information to other members of the raw materials procurement team. This will be achieved through soliciting and reviewing competitive alternatives, assess vendor capabilities and past performance, recommend alternative sources for retail scrap, and select suppliers based on information gathered. The incumbent will secure retail scrap based on the specific terms of purchase contracts within established policies and procedures, verify purchase order details, and document vendor performance.
This position also serves as a liaison between mill personnel and scrap suppliers. The incumbent must be familiar with basic melting requirements at the mill in order to know the effect of different grades of scrap, relative to billet chemistry specifications. Raw Materials Purchasing Agent will work closely with vendors, shippers, and inspection personnel to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms/conditions, and safety and environmental compliance requirements . WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU NEED?
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience in the buying, melting, or receiving of steel scrap or similar work experience at an exempt level.

Maintain plant HVAC systems in all areas of as directed by the Maintenance Routine Facilitator. Supervise the record keeping, various contractors, and the inventory of parts on site for service. Job Summary:
This position monitors and assists in controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles, shipments and containers through use scale and software systems. All activity must be accounted for and accurately documented on scale tickets, bills of lading, purchase orders and packing slips, etc.
Nature and Scope:
Directly reporting to the Division Manager, the Scale Operator must regularly communicate with dispatch personnel and other scale operators to assist with company vehicle traffic and all incoming and outgoing yard traffic. This position interacts frequently with yard operations including but not limited to emergency contact for yard operations, material receiving personnel, internal and external drivers as well as management, sales and I.T. personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Enthusiastic greeting of customers and ascertain material grade including all necessary paperwork needed to safely direct all incoming loads to the proper locations throughout the facility.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. Record supplier, truck or car identification, contract number (if appropriate), description and grade of material, gross, tare and net weights, and discharge location of the load. This includes accurate recording of load deductions (non-conforming material), re-pricing as directed by Buyers, printing and distributing scale tickets as required.
- Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
- Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
- Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
- Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
- Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
- Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.
- Constantly maintain radio contact with the appropriate yard personnel including and being aware of Emergency calls and proper handling of different types of situations.
- Maintain and implement safe work procedures while ensuring all guests have been informed of and adhere to proper PPE requirements.
- Consistently monitor and lifting of main yard arm.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to perform all kinds of welding, brazing and cutting on any type of metal using gas and electric welding equipment, and to layout, fabricate, assemble, erect and repair structural, plate and pipe work.
Hourly rate: $41.07 /hour plus COLA (cost of living allowance). Overtime is available.

- Receive instructions and drawings regarding shop and fieldwork orders for the job

BASIC FUNCTION:
Incumbent is responsible for International, Federal, State, Provincial, and local tax functions, in US and Canada, including tax analysis, reporting, research, and compliance related to the company and employee payroll taxes for North America. NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is responsible for managing the payroll tax and related accounting duties of the company in a multi corporation, multi-state, multi country manufacturing environment. The Payroll Tax Manager reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Employee Services who reports to the VP of HR. Reporting directly to this position are salaried exempt staff positions, Payroll Tax Analysts.
The incumbent provides management with guidance relative to payroll tax issues and planning considerations, including recommendations and review of potential tax saving alternatives at the Federal, Provincial, or State level relating to Payroll taxes. The incumbent is responsible for registering business units for new acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures to ensure proper tax liabilities are made timely on all payroll taxes within the province or state as applicable. Responsible to resolve all tax notices from Federal, provinces and states as well.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the general ledger accounts associated with the state and local payroll taxes are reconciled with the Accounting team on a periodic basis and accurately reflects the company’s liabilities and payments.
Payroll tax compliance is an essential function of the payroll tax department, necessary to avoid additional costs in terms of late penalties and interest. Managing the preparation and timely filing of all payroll tax returns and employee tax forms for multiple companies in two countries are critical job elements to avoid additional costs to the company. When audits occur, the incumbent works closely with tax officials to resolve compliance issues and minimize exposure. The incumbent also manages outside consultants on various assigned projects such as the inpatriate processes.
The incumbent should have exceptional skills and knowledge with training, organizing and directing specific duties of the Payroll Tax Analysts to ensure accurate and timely completion of payroll tax liabilities for the company. The Payroll Tax Manager must have an intimate knowledge of all payroll taxes, the payroll tax systems, including third party vendor systems, and the detailed accounting transactions of payroll tax as it relates to the general ledger.
This position will oversee the completion and distribution of domestic and International Wage and Tax Statements (IE: Form W2, W2c, T4, T4A, etc) to employees and agencies. This requires the calculation of additional income due to long term incentives, international income, reporting third party sick pay information to employees who received payments by insurance companies, relocation expenses as added income during the year, maintaining records for taxable income for Sales personnel with company cars and personal mileage, and calculation of taxable wages for employees working in the US or Canada under the Gerdau Ameristeel exchange program.
This position will serve as a dedicated subject matter expert for US, Canada, and International Payroll tax laws. Must have the ability to research and identify problems, develop proposals, conduct analysis independently and run the Payroll tax functions across two countries efficiently. Must ensure the BSI and SAP systems are updated for all annual tax changes. Must work closely with the Payroll Tax Analysts and the I.T. department to ensure proper testing of new changes are completed for payroll tax updates on a timely basis.
This position will be responsible for keeping management abreast of all upcoming tax changes to ensure the systems are properly updated. Must attend annual tax conferences as needed in order to stay current on all tax law regulation changes. Expected to communicate all upcoming legal changes to management and keep the systems updated timely.
Qualifications for this position require a degree in accounting or related business field, and eight to ten solid years experience with domestic and international payroll tax. Must have a broad knowledge of payroll tax processing, general accounting practices related to payroll tax functions, US, Canada, and International tax regulations, and high level managerial skills. A demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft applications is required. Must have stong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required. Experience with SAP/BSI is a preferred payroll application for this position. Experience with Ceridian third party vendor tax processing is a plus. Must have strong customer service skills and team otientation. CPP designation preferred.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Your Purpose:

Your Work:

Basic Function:
