BASIC FUNCTION (Primary Purpose):

The Security Guard EMT ensures the safety of all people and property at the location by monitoring traffic into and out of the location, and by performing other related responsibilities that contribute to the location’s safety.  In the event of emergencies, this role responds to and provides appropriate treatment and transportation assistance to ensure the safety of sick or injured people at the location.

Conducts onsite drug or alcohol tests as directed by plant management.

Trains for and assists in Technical Rescue.

Scope (brief description):

To control the access of all personnel, including employees, visitors, contractors and truck drivers, to the mill and provide other duties related to the protection of people and property of Gerdau.  To provide appropriate emergency care and transportation assistance to all sick or injured people at the location.

Job Summary:

Move finished product from rolling mill to staging area for outbound shipments with the use of mobile or material handling equipment. Assist in a variety of functions related to the Logistics Department including inventory and quality checks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform a variety of tasks, which are routine in nature, and which require exercising care in the operation of mobile equipment, handling materials safely, and loading appropriate products in designated areas.
2. Transfer stacked and bundled materials from end of rolling mill finishing operations to stock area:
   1. Store materials according to product, grade, size, and heat number.
   2. Rotate warehouse stock materials to make room for new product
   3. Communicate material locations for inventory accuracy.
3. Operate material handling equipment to lift, move, and position product.
4. Observe items for conformity regarding product size, type, and length. Looks for quality issues that can be detected with the visible eye and reports issue to the Quality department.
5. Assist in physical inventory counts and daily inventory spot checks.
6. Perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed. This position may be required to help and fill for other Logistics positions and job duties on a temporary basis.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.
2. Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules/guidelines for all tasks being performed.
3. Assist in training of coworkers as needed.
4. Execute general 5S activities in the work area.
5. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completed Gerdau safety training.
• Completed Gerdau forklift certification training and electric overhead crane training.

1-2 years manufacturing experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing or walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to frequently lift objects up to 15 lbs. and dunnage up to 50 lbs.

Plant Operations:
The Regional Energy Manager (REM) supplies energy for several mills within a broad geographical region and serves as a resource for plant management for energy forecasts, communication, and collaboration regarding commercial aspects of energy supply. The successful candidate will:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The SAP Security Analyst is a senior level technologist, under minimal supervision of the Sr Manager, Security or Manager, Security, functioning as an SAP security expert.  The incumbent will serve as the lead for implementing and maintaining several critical compliance based projects and on-going SAP security efforts.   

DIMENSIONS:

The SAP Seccurity Analyst will work within the Security function of the IT department. This role will report to the Sr Manager, Security or Manager, Security, and may receive daily guidance from the Team Lead, Security.  This role will not have any direct reports. However, this role will provide guidance and support to others within the IT organization.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The SAP Seccurity Analyst is responsible for reviewing existing SAP profiles to develop and implement solutions to SAP security controls issues through coordination with the functional and technical users.  This role will function as the security strategist, following current best practices and aligning all teams with these decisions.  Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining roles within SAP, SAP S/4 Hana and for provisioning and de-provisioning users in SAP.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree, combined with 5 years of experience in SAP Security.
• Security experience in S/4 HANA implementation and Fiori authorizations is desirable.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of material handling duties necessary to receive, store, and issue maintenance and operating parts, tools, supplies, equipment, and materials. Incumbents are responsible for unloading incoming shipments; open, identify, sort, count, or weigh items as delivered; store articles in bins, shelves, hoppers, or other designated stores areas; prepare kits for scheduled jobs; check off material list and note inaccuracies and damages; record required receiving information; process tools or equipment to be shipped for repair, deliver to local service organizations as required; performs messenger and parts chasing duties; Maintain vigilant attention to security of stored items.

Once an item has been inventoried, the incumbent is responsible for notifying the appropriate mill department that orders are to be picked up, or the incumbent will transport goods to the appropriate destination or storage location. This will require the operation of company vehicles, forklifts and handling apparatuses as necessary to carry out assignments and normal activities. When operating mobile equipment and/or overhead cranes, follow all prescribed safety guidelines and perform daily checks and preventive maintenance to insure equipment is maintained in proper working order. Incumbents must also maintain records involving receipt and issuance of goods to insure accuracy of inventory counts.

Preferred qualifications for this position include knowledge and use of inventory procedures, which involves significant computer usage and application and use of different company software systems including SAP, SRM, Lawson, Maximo, and GGP. A working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is also helpful.  The position requires a close attention to detail - physical inventory of stock items is periodically required. Ideally, the incumbent will have a general working knowledge of plant machinery and layout to assist in aforementioned responsibilities.

Your Purpose:

Your Work:

• Locate parts in catalogs or on the computer.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Roll Shop Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to set up and operate a computer numerically controlled lathe to machine all types of new and used rolls to finished size and contour for all sections rolled in the Mill.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Plans working procedures from instructions, prints, computer programs, and work orders

- Slings rolls and places them in a lathe using a crane

- Centers and fastens roll in the lathe

- Barrels new rolls

- Selects and profiles cutting tools for the job in accordance with hardness, machinability, desired contour, and surface of the roll to be turned and set up in the tool holder

- Sets up and operates CNC lathe to turn any type of roll to finished size within close tolerances

- Selects and adjusts speeds and feeds for material to be cut

- Turns rolls to specifications and intermittently checks dimensions for compliance using a protractor, calipers, micrometers, rulers, straights edge, pass templates, and thickness gauges.

- Observes turning of roll, interrupts upon deviation from specifications, and corrects minor errors in a computer program by manually overriding computer

- Operates lathe manually to complete finishing of the roll such as taking out points, blending radii, and using plugs

- Operates milling machine to cut deformations in rolls

- Operates electric discharge machine (EDM) to brand rolls

- Inspects and lubricate equipment

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules and guidelines for all tasks being performed.
2. Responsible for training other personnel on electrical systems, PLC’s, networks, process changes, etc.
3. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Employees will complete all required regulatory/safety training & will follow all safety rules & requirements including maintaining a clean work area.
• Receives wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done.

Your Purpose:

Your primary responsibility will be for safety at all times. You will be responsible for proper track alignment, planning, and positioning the railcars in the yard. You will be inspecting the railcars land track throughout the day.  Also, loading prepared ferrous materials into the railcars. 

• Engage and disengage track switches to switch cars for loading, unloading, making up or breaking up of trains. 
• Manually knuckle and un-knuckle rail cars, climb on and off rail cars, and assist in re-railing derailed rail cars. 
• Operate scale system via computer and maintain weigh-ticket files while checking for accuracy of scale and related systems. 
• Perform a visual inspection of vendor scrap to confirm grades of different types of raw materials and inspect each load for non-conformities.
• Monitor weigh-tickets for accuracy of inventory movement charge numbers. 
• Maintain communication with the locomotive operator by radio and hand signals. 
• Safety for Rail Contractors making on-site repairs.
• Spot, determine areas of concern on track, gauging issues, broken track, frogs, etc.
• Cleaning and repairing of switches (shimming, butterflies, etc.)
• Repair of run-through switches.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and activity.

Physical Requirements:

Basic Function (Primary Purpose):

This position reports to the Organization Development Manager. The Sr Learning & Development Partner is responsible for defining the strategy and coordinating the learning and development process for Gerdau North America. This position functions as a process expert, acts as a liaison with the Global Center of Expertise and supports the Field HR. Job Summary:

This position monitors and assists in controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles, shipments and containers through use scale and software systems.  All activity must be accounted for and accurately documented on scale tickets, bills of lading, purchase orders and packing slips, etc.

Nature and Scope:

Directly reporting to the Division Manager, the Scale Operator must regularly communicate with dispatch personnel and other scale operators to assist with company vehicle traffic and all incoming and outgoing yard traffic. This position interacts frequently with yard operations including but not limited to emergency contact for yard operations, material receiving personnel, internal and external drivers as well as management, sales and I.T. personnel.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Enthusiastic greeting of customers and ascertain material grade including all necessary paperwork needed to safely direct all incoming loads to the proper locations throughout the facility.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. Record supplier, truck or car identification, contract number (if appropriate), description and grade of material, gross, tare and net weights, and discharge location of the load. This includes accurate recording of load deductions (non-conforming material), re-pricing as directed by Buyers, printing and distributing scale tickets as required.
• Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
• Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
• Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
• Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
• Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
• Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.
• Constantly maintain radio contact with the appropriate yard personnel including and being aware of Emergency calls and proper handling of different types of situations.
• Maintain and implement safe work procedures while ensuring all guests have been informed of and adhere to proper PPE requirements.
• Consistently monitor and lifting of main yard arm.
• Manage the work area by keeping all paperwork processed and neatly filed as well as maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of scale house and workstations according to 5S Standards. 
• Review, file and fax all scale tickets daily and as required prior to end of shift.
• Accurately weigh in Public Scale tickets with understanding of receiving cash or billing to the appropriate customer.
• Daily cash reconciliation.

Skills and Abilities:

• This position must have basic MS Office computer skills and be able to communicate well with others.
• They must also have the ability accurately multitask at a fast pace positive manner. 
• Must possess excellent telephone skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively when dealing with customers, carriers, and company drivers.

Job Summary:

The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
• Inspects mobile shear, magnet crane, and stationary shear daily and documents on checklists to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.   
• Performs daily preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper working order such as lubrication, greasing, fueling, and keeping cab clean.       
• Inspects for proper scrap grade and safety and environmental concerns such as tanks, cylinders, etc. while shearing.
• Shear unprepared material into prepared state identifying size, thickness, and physical dimensions.
• Use magnet crane to load/unload scrap from customer vehicles into appropriate piles or railcars in order to process for shipping.
• Use mobile equipment to lift and move scrap from one area of the yard to another.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist with yard housekeeping efforts and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.
• Assist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.

• Operate a 270 ton overhead charging crane to pick-up and transport scrap bucket from scrap loading area to the furnace for charging.  Lift, move, and position raw materials and refill material bins as needed. Perform electrode addition functions.
• Use judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of material movement and handling procedures required to service melt shop area in a timely and efficient manner. 
• Manipulate or depress crane controls such as pedals/levers to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
• Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
• Unload, transfer, and aid in placing equipment, parts, electrodes, and other supplies.
• May serve as a Relief Ladle Crane Operator when regularly assigned operator is unavailable.
• Perform other crane handling operations in the melt shop as directed according to operational requirements.
• May include removal of slag pot.
• Perform routine equipment care, and record and inspect vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.

What The Position Entails

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position’s job responsibilities include:

• Lay out, install, maintain, repair plant pipelines, fittings, and fixtures

• Set up and operate bending, threading, and cut-off equipment to shape and fabricate pipe for installation

• Test, inspect, dismantle, repair, replace or install any type of pressure piping, fittings, and fixtures for air, water, steam, oil, gas

• Read and interpret drawings and sketches

• Prepare material lists and trade calculations

• Operate material handling equipment such as cranes, tow motor operation including rigging

• Operate mobile equipment such as zoom boom, scissor lift, etc.

Your Qualifications :

• Strong mechanical, and welding skills with 3 - 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, blue-print reading, troubleshooting and repairing motors, and gearboxes.

ABOUT GERDAU

JOB SUMMARY

This project management position also serves in an advisory or consulting capacity coach to all levels of employees, contractors, and plant management. The Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager for the Whitby and Cambridge Mills and will actively participate in the technical development for the Engineering department and maintenance personnel. This position has direct responsibility for specific projects with medium complexity and values ranging from $50,000 up to $5,000,000 or more. The incumbent will be required to travel, possibly for an extended period, to work on CAPEX projects. Project managers at Gerdau are responsible for all aspects of projects; from the development of the investment proposal, to engineering and design, to overseeing fabrication, to construction supervision, and finally to the training of operators and tradespeople.

An Engineer is expected to have valuable experience that improves the quality of execution of projects within the steel industry. The incumbent must have an engineering specialty in at least one field that is applicable to Gerdau’s operations in Ontario, and they must be able to provide value to the business in that field. The applicant must have at least 5 years of previous experience in heavy industry.

WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS

• Project Manager for CAPEX and non-CAPEX projects at the Whitby Mill.
  • May be required to complete some projects at our Cambridge Mill
• Working with medium and high voltage power distribution systems and components
• Protection & control circuits and logics
• Conducting power engineering design and analysis
• Working with PLC based industrial control systems and SCADA systems
• Working with AC and DC drives to control large motors
• Working and trouble shooting industrial automation networks
• Executing large scale electrical and automation installation projects 
• Integrate new technologies into the plant.
• Train and develop employees in technical and/or project related information.
• Conduct Technical Studies to support CAPEX investments.
• Support process improvement projects where applicable.
• Support operation of the onsite substation and liaise with utility provider as required to maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.  Oversee substation modifications, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Development and management of internal engineering and/or project management procedures.
• Create, review, approve and issue engineering drawings as required for modifications, installations, and maintenance/repair purposes. Stamping of drawings is not required.
• Must stay abreast of current technologies.
• Provide engineering services for department projects and cost justification.
• Assist in preparing, reviewing and troubleshooting programs for the plant PLCs and computer control systems.
• Travel will be required, approximately 1 week per quarter.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER

• Four-year Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial experience.
• Specialty in steel-related field.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction techniques used in industrial design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
• Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of CAPEX and maximize the efficiency of the overall department operation. 
• Good communication skills, ability to articulate ideas, detail oriented, and comfortable dealing with associates at all levels within the organization.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Assists in monthly closing and financial reporting by preparing routine complex journal entries, consolidation of the various legal entities, review journal entries prepared by accountants, and clear zone balancing. Reviews system generated journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness. 

2. Monthly internal financial reporting, primarily the monthly Financial Report (which includes monthly financial and statistical information) for management.

3. Annually prepares the Financial Statements including footnotes. 

4. Using and maintaining Crystal Reports maintained in the Crystal software reporting package, which is used to prepare the financial statements, various footnotes, and statistical reports. 

5. Quarterly and annual preparation of schedules and footnote support for Gerdau, S.A. (parent company).

6. Conducts internal audit control self-assessment reviews and assists in SOX-related audit issue resolutions

7. Maintains integrity of balance sheet accounts through review of account activity and balances for accuracy and reasonableness, and prepares audit schedules for outside auditors.

8. Performs accounting for complex accounting areas, such as stock compensation, pensions and derivatives, etc.
    
9. Performs general accounting duties including maintaining the accounting structure for account hierarchy in the financial statements and preparation/submission of various governmental financial and statistical reports as required.
    
10. Accounting projects as assigned by the Corporate Accounting Manager and Chief Accountant; requires independence and project management skills to obtain project objectives.

11. Prepares financial analysis as required by management.
     
12. Acts as the liaison with plant and corporate accounting personnel for accounting issues.

13. Seeks continual improvements of all accounting processes.
     
14. Stays abreast of current accounting standards, including, but not limited to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the various authoritative accounting guidance (FASB, SEC, etc) to ensure adequate accounting for and disclosure of the company’s financial information for internal and external reporting. Ad hoc research and special projects related to a wide range of technical accounting and financial reporting issues.

Job Summary:

 Primarily responsible for maintaining and stocking consumables for the Furnace or Caster, general housekeeping duties (includes 5S and cleaning), assisting other furnace operators as needed and may be responsible for collecting and running slag samples. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Unload trucks and stock supplies and/or consumables.
2. Operate/stock temperature and sampling device used to take temperatures, oxygen readings and steel samples.
3. May also take care of slag pots/pits as needed (i.e clean out pits with shovels, water, et).
4. Assist in maintaining refractory (patching or gunning).
5. Maintain runner/tap hole.
6. Build and add electrodes.
7. Record data in production systems.
8. Communicate with team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily preventative maintenance and maintain records and inspection on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.
2. Assist in training of coworkers as needed.
3. Operate mobile equipment (may include overhead cranes) to transfer product and materials, while following all safety rules and regulations.
4. Perform general 5S activities in the work area.
5. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
