MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
This internship offers practical work experience directly related to management accounting, as well as the opportunity to gain financial accounting experience in a public company. It will involve a mix of challenges from improving and reporting critical documentation, developing and updating procedures, assisting in the development of analytical dashboards, and variance analysis and investigation.

Reporting to the Recycling Manager. you will be responsible for running the scale and processing payments for incoming material at our Recycling Plant in Selkirk.
Responsibilities include:
- Weighing trucks that come in / out of the yard
- Data entry of all incoming material using SAP
- Helping customers at the pay scale window and issuing payment
- Credits commercial accounts using SAP
- Issues railcar and rail freight payments
- Assists in Rail Parts invoicing

Responsible for providing support in the coordination and evaluation of external and internal customer requirements in accordance with the capacities and capabilities of the production departments (i.e. Steel Making and Rolling), and ancillary service departments (i.e. process and product metallurgy, material handling marketing).
DIMENSIONS
- Advisory staff position. Provides technical training and guidance to employees.
- Has access to highly confidential information.
- Under the general direction of the Quality Assurance Manager is primarily responsible for the identification, evaluation, and implementation of product and process enhancement opportunities.
- Actions would involve the planning, supervision, evaluation, and reporting of product trials and investigations on site or outside facilities.
- Incumbent will visit customers when there is a technical problem with the product or quality issue and determine the nature of the problem.
- Upon visit to the customer, the incumbent physically inspects the product to determine resolution pertaining to material disposition and implementation of corrective action procedures.

Job Summary:
Perform a wide variety of secretarial, personnel, accounting, data input and related clerical duties pertaining primarily to providing accounts payable, personnel, purchasing and other Division Manager administrative functions for the Rail Products division.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Utilize word processing software programs to type letters, memos, division newsletters and general correspondence. Utilize approved spreadsheet software programs to generate routine and repetitive schedules and reports used by location management. Operate office equipment, copy machine to prepare letters, memos, schedules, reports and other correspondence, as required or needed. Keep all employee records and files up-to-date.
2. Receive, verify, codify and input accounts payable invoices into Lawson system for payment processing.
3. Check all time cards for proper rates, coding and supervisor approval. Refer questions to supervisor and follow-up for clarification to ensure accuracy. Input time card information to generate labor report and maintain file information in accordance with company policy and practice. Verify information and make corrections as required or directed. Maintain exempt vacation records. Maintain company records for number of temporary employee hours worked.
4. Conduct orientation process of new hires and enroll new employees. Enter new hires and all personnel changes into SAP application. Establish and maintain personnel files and process employee profile changes. Answer inquiries about the company’s savings plan and benefits program. Issue job postings and forward accumulated applications for selection.
5. Maintain confidential personnel wage, salary, safety records as well as other Human Resource materials in accordance with established policies and procedures.
6. Call vendors to place orders, complete purchase requisitions, and type customer purchase orders as
needed or required. File invoices entered for payment from previous week.
7. Separate and rack time cards; complete temporary rate authorizations and payroll adjustment vouchers; serve as contact person for corporate payroll regarding pay discrepancies or problems.
8. Gather and process information necessary for use in a variety of weekly, monthly, and miscellaneous reports for the Plant Manager or other management team members as needed for division and/or corporate use and review.
9. Perform accounts payable duties in accordance with standard accounting practices and procedures.
10. Assist supervisors with employee attendance reports and performance reviews.
11. Receive, stamp, sort and distribute incoming mail. Prepare overnight and express mail packages for
mailing as required or needed.

GENERAL SUMMARY: An Automation Specialist will install, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production process. Must be able to troubleshoot component parts, service and repair industrial process control systems, instrumentation, robotic assembly devices, and computer-controlled equipment designed to reduce human interaction. Work involves a wide range of diversified and complex duties including installation, modification, and programming of complex closed loop and digital electronic equipment. Subject matter expert in the area of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming (Primarily Rockwell and ABB), and HMI Systems. Automation, and instrumentation including motion sensors, control components, load cells, VFD’s, photosensors, camera systems and other vital technology. In addition to maintaining smooth operation, you will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities. This is a specialized position, and our ideal applicant has considerable experience and education in engineering, robotics, and production automation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs advanced PLC programming and HMI programming, networking, and troubleshooting; setup and install hardware; and as necessary evaluate equipment making recommendation for design changes and improvements. 2. Has expert knowledge and understanding, as well as the ability to modify, ancillary systems or equipment used in conjunction with PLCs such as: operating systems, software packages, drives and/or data acquisition systems, taking care to identify the root causes of equipment failure. 3. May check and calibrate plant instrumentation; routinely checks plant equipment, reheat furnace, melt shop electronic systems or other instrumentation. Will document testing of emergency systems for compliance purposes. Will work with analytic software, calculators, meters, and electronic probes in order to diagnose faults in circuitry. 4. Interprets schematics/blueprints at an expert level. 5. Research, specify, and help source equipment, parts, and digital solutions.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Works with related diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeter, multi-volt meter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment. 2. Plans and assists engineers and plant leadership with projects that involve installation or modification of equipment. 3. Helps in coordinating the activities and troubleshooting of maintenance employees and contractors on assigned projects. 4. Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules and guidelines for all tasks being performed. 5. Responsible for training other personnel on electrical systems, PLC’s, HMI’s, networks, process changes, etc. 6. Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Associates or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or Automation technology, robotics, or a closely related technical field is preferred. 10 years of heavy industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred. Experience working in an industrial environment. Maintain a thorough and working knowledge/understanding of and be familiar with computer science, mechanics, electronics, machinery, human-machine interfaces, and process controls. Must possess strong math, computer, and electrical skills. Must be familiar with a variety of hand tools and be an excellent problem solver. It is critical to have a thorough understanding of equipment including motors, drives, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Ability to read blueprints. Advanced knowledge and verifiable training and/or work experience in: AC/DC motor theory PLC Programing/network configuration Factory Talk HMI system configuration Expert drive knowledge ABB and Rockwell Electrical controls Data acquisition systems, process cameras, HMI Interfaces.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing or walking, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, and push and pull objects. Ability to reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged sitting. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching. Ability to work in extreme ambient temperatures up to 160°F. Ability to work in cramped quarters and at heights. Ability to work a shift schedule, including days, nights, and weekends. Ability to work call ins for emergency work when the plant is down. Ability to tolerate working in areas where noise levels can reach 120 decibels.

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau.
- Participation in daily safety routine.
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

- Assist in monthly inventory counts (where applicable)
- Assist maintenance personnel in the performance of equipment repairs as required or directed.
- Operate the Baler Operation.
- Assist in nonferrous processing; including segregation of materials to upgrade products. For example: Copper, Brass, Aluminum, etc.
- Assist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.
- Stage and remove material for torching with a material handler (where applicable).

WHAT THE POSITION ENTAILS:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position’s job responsibilities include:
Inspect, install, repair, replace, adjust mechanical equipment in the plant.

Your Purpose:

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard

- Through on the job training, must become certified on Billet Yard Crane in order to serve as a relief operator. This requires proficiency in operating the crane and assisting with routine and preventative maintenance. Safely operate overhead Billet Crane to warehouse billets between the casting and rolling process.
- As needed, function as a Caster Cutting Attendant. This requires versatility to adequately carry out the normal machine operator duties for each job performed and participating in housekeeping activities in the casting area.
- Clean machinery and other equipment or apparatus, assist maintenance personnel, as needed handling tools, parts, and perform routine maintenance on any equipment used.
- Perform material handling duties by unloading trucks transporting supplies and parts to the warehouse, stock room, or work areas.
- Use hand tools such as a shovel, pick, sledgehammer, crowbar, broom, and rake; equipment such as hand trucks, dollies, jack, pneumatic hammer, as well as operate forklifts, front-end loaders, and bobcats to perform daily tasks and to get up stock for the furnace.

The position reports directly to the Regional Raw Materials Manager and has a functional reporting relationship to the local Division Manager. The incumbent will coordinate activities with transportation, scrap inspection, accounting personnel, and other relevant staff.

Reporting directly to this position are salaried and salaried non-exempt personnel at the location. There may be situations where certain hourly positions will also reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Review production results to see that all phases of operations are within acceptable standards. Primary areas of concern are maintaining maximum levels of total quality of grinding balls produced, yield, manufacturing costs, forge efficiencies, and tons of grinding balls shipped. Review the performance and results of maintenance functions to ensure that adequate and proper servicing needs of the operations are met effectively and efficiently.
Ensure that corporate policies and practices relating to all employees are being implemented on a fair and consistent basis and that good employee relations practices are being maintained. Incumbent has responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment consistent with all federal, state, and local regulations, law, and permits.
Responsible for selecting, developing, motivating, training, and evaluating subordinates to build and support a high-performance team environment and to assist team members to obtain their maximum potential to ensure a high level of production effectiveness within the operation.
The incumbent should have a working knowledge of industry manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of specialized industrial equipment, being familiar with production schedules, bills of material, and product specifications. Responsibilities of this position also require a broad shop background and practical training relative to the manufacture of grinding balls, quality control procedures and specifications, and the repair and preventive maintenance of forging and related equipment, and supervision. Previous qualifying experience on related work or lesser jobs of at least seven to ten years plus an orientation period for familiarization with sales, production, quality control, shipping, and shop procedures is needed in addition to extensive specialized technical and administrative training (equivalent to 4 years of college).
It is this position’s responsibility to coordinate the efforts of the production and maintenance departments with the best management techniques to minimize conversion costs and scrap. Employee relations skills are as important as technical skills. The incumbent must motivate people, always keeping in mind such things as safety, good housekeeping, turnover, and morale. Training plays an important part in day-to-day duties where both human and technical skills are critical. Human relations skills are also important when carrying out employee disciplinary actions. Fairness and consistency are a must in the administration of company disciplinary practices.
Responsibilities of this position consist of four major areas: grinding ball production; upkeep and maintenance of equipment; employee relations activities; and compliance with all Federal, State, and local government regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety requirements, including record keeping, reporting, inspection, etc. Other areas of responsibility are shop security, plant buildings and grounds, finished product, raw materials, and spare parts inventory. Although management guidelines are established, they allow for the use of individual judgment in daily decision making.
The greatest challenge of this position is to operate at the optimum levels of cost to enhance the potential profitability of the operation. Additional challenges of significance are maintaining a team effort throughout the entire area of responsibility and the development of new production techniques to improve product quality and production capabilities.

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of repetitive electrical maintenance duties necessary to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment needed to produce finished products, which requires an advanced understanding of control circuits, DC and AC drives, overhead cranes, electronics, and test equipment. Job Summary:
The position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap suitable for steelmaking. Under the immediate direction of the Scrap Buyer Manager, the incumbent will execute the approved plan to achieve the objective of minimizing overall cost while maximizing return for operations.
Nature and Scope:
This position is responsible for the economic and efficient procurement of retail scrap. Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.

Job Summary:
This position monitors and assists in controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles, shipments and containers through use scale and software systems. All activity must be accounted for and accurately documented on scale tickets, bills of lading, purchase orders and packing slips, etc.
Nature and Scope:
Directly reporting to the Division Manager, the Scale Operator must regularly communicate with dispatch personnel and other scale operators to assist with company vehicle traffic and all incoming and outgoing yard traffic. This position interacts frequently with yard operations including but not limited to emergency contact for yard operations, material receiving personnel, internal and external drivers as well as management, sales and I.T. personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Enthusiastic greeting of customers and ascertain material grade including all necessary paperwork needed to safely direct all incoming loads to the proper locations throughout the facility.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. Record supplier, truck or car identification, contract number (if appropriate), description and grade of material, gross, tare and net weights, and discharge location of the load. This includes accurate recording of load deductions (non-conforming material), re-pricing as directed by Buyers, printing and distributing scale tickets as required.
- Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
- Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
- Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
- Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
- Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
- Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.
- Constantly maintain radio contact with the appropriate yard personnel including and being aware of Emergency calls and proper handling of different types of situations.

The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of the Plant Environmental Manager, responsible for the implementation and maintenance of environmental management system (EMS), environmental compliance activities and radiation protection for the Steel Mill by assisting and advising Environmental Manager and department superintendents on environmental matters based on knowledge of environmental regulations and counsel of Corporate Environmental, outside attorneys, and consultants.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Environmental Specialist must keep up to date with environmental regulations and provide guidance and assistance to Mill management to ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and radiation procedures. This position reports directly to the Mill Environmental Manager. Direct or dotted line (varies by location) reporting to the incumbent are nonexempt/ hourly employees assigned to tend to environmental/radiation equipment and related areas.
The Environmental Specialist collects or oversees the collection of, samples and data required for various environmental permits. The position is also responsible for
preparation, submission , and timely filing of all environmental reports, including annual Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste, superfund, Title V, NPDES, radiation protection and various other environmental reporting which must be certified true and accurate by the company. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating permitting of all sources of air emissions, landfills, wastewater discharges, solid waste management, and storm water runoff for the mill site including any applicable contractor support functions.
The incumbent will train employees in environmental policy, as well as participate in the development of and adhere to Environmental Compliance Plans, such as SPCC and SWPPP. In cases where appropriate training is not in place, the incumbent will develop new training programs and presentations. In addition, the Environmental Specialist will assist plant operators and engineering in the planning of new or updated emissions control equipment or mill modifications, including review of new facilities and equipment to assure compliance with all applicable regulations.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and directing the radiation control program for all onsite operations. This includes monitoring, calibrating, and testing all radiation detection devices and ensuring proper response to all radiation detection alarms; developing procedures for handling radiation alarms; and developing procedure for responding to the possibility of a radioactive melt.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and directing activities associated with any on-site landfill. This includes performing, monitoring and testing activities; ground water monitoring; landfill inspections including stormwater drainage, vegetative or synthetic cover, and managing design, construction, related projects, maintenance and repairs.
The Environmental Specialist is responsible for implementing the environmental management system (EMS), the environmental conformance rating (ECR) program, and key performance indicator (KPI) monitoring programs. This position also actively supports the Environmental Manager in developing and implementing environmental action plans, environmental capital expenditure projects, GBS strategic directions,
safety responsibilities.
The Environmental Specialist obtains and provides direction, guidance, and assistance and influences operating departments as required to assure adherence to the environmental policy and to the Environmental Management System (EMS) and to assure the most efficient and effective use of resources required for remediation activities and for short-term and long-term environmental compliance in line with Company policy and under the general direction of the Mill Environmental Manager. Due to close contact with operating management and personnel, and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, the position requires the ability and maturity to effectively communicate with a variety of personalities and interests, sometimes under adversarial conditions or time constraints.
The major challenge of this position is to implement programs, practices and procedures under the general direction of the plant Environmental Manager to assure continuous short term and long-term compliance with environmental regulations.

Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Cost Analyst I is responsible for supporting the Cost Manager and Operations staff through routine financial analysis, reporting and maintenance of internal controls.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, including inventories, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Auditing and reporting on internal controls.
- Generating and analyzing routine monthly and weekly reports.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The responsibilities of this position pertain to the accuracy of financial information and maintenance of internal controls. The Cost Analyst I will review day to day transactions, including inventory, purchasing of goods and services, and purchasing and sales of scrap, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures. The Cost Analyst I will also provide support to operations for SAP (or other ERP systems), and assist with internal control audits, forecasts and action plan execution.
This position reports directly to the Cost Manager.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of financial transactions including but not limited to, inventories, production, shipping, sales, and purchasing.
- Reviews general ledger activity and prepares adjusting journal entries.
- Performs account reconciliations, including cash held at the locations.
- Reviews inventory transactions for completeness and accuracy.
- Reviewing routine financial reports to follow business results and identify opportunities.
- Provides support to Metals Recycling operations staff for SAP (or other ERP) on accounting or payment issues.
- Periodically travels to Metals Recycling locations to perform audits of internal controls.
- Analyzes variances of actual results from budget and forecast.
- Assists with budget and forecast preparation.
- Maintains fixed asset ledger.
- Assists with special projects as required.
The incumbent must perform the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities in accordance with all Federal, Provincial, and Local environmental regulations including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and the Environmental Protection Act. Employees must also report any situation which may have a detrimental impact to human health or the environment to their immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
This Cost Analyst I should possess a bachelors degree or diploma in accounting or related field.
The incumbent should be familiar with various types of computer software programs including Microsoft’s Office Suite (Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint) and financial software at an intermediate level.

Your Purpose:
You will operate an overhead cab crane to lift and transfer the scrap bucket from the scrap loading area to the furnace for charging. Transport raw materials to the floor, add alloys in the furnace/bins, perform electrode addition functions, and position furnace roof, shell, and equipment during maintenance activities. Follow established material handling practices and procedures combined with directives from melt shop floor personnel. Cab is sealed and air conditioned.
Your Work:
- Operate a 270 ton overhead charging crane to pick-up and transport scrap bucket from scrap loading area to the furnace for charging. Lift, move, and position raw materials and refill material bins as needed. Perform electrode addition functions.
- Use judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of material movement and handling procedures required to service melt shop area in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manipulate or depress crane controls such as pedals/levers to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Unload, transfer, and aid in placing equipment, parts, electrodes, and other supplies.
- May serve as a Relief Ladle Crane Operator when regularly assigned operator is unavailable.
- Perform other crane handling operations in the melt shop as directed according to operational requirements.
- May include removal of slag pot.
- Perform routine equipment care, and record and inspect vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.

- Will operate radio pendant overhead crane and forklift to assist in material movement or housekeeping activities.
- During periods of continuous operation, perform troubleshooting activities associated with equipment failure of banding and tying machines and perform necessary routine or minor maintenance repairs within the scope of technical knowledge; also conduct daily maintenance inspection checks on banding and tying machines and perform preventive maintenance activities; coordinate the reloading of strapping and wiring material.
- Perform other auxiliary duties to include staging parts and equipment such as straightener rolls, guides, etc., for changeovers and assisting finishing crew in completing changeover activities.
- Assist maintenance personnel and operators in other preventive and breakdown maintenance, removing and cutting cobbles.
- Prepare and attach identification tags, tie off heat and lot run ends, and occasionally count bundle pieces.
- Prepare accurate simple add and subtraction hand-held measuring tools.

What Your Purpose Will Be:
To be succesful in this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance and establishing a productive, high performing, and safety conscious working environment. The major role is to focus on all aspects related to safety, environmental, production, cost, quality, and people management.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and supervise maintenance operations across utilities, overhead cranes, mobile equipment, and building systems.
- Drive predictive, preventive, and proactive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and boost productivity.
- Train and coach team members in troubleshooting, safety, and continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen, QIS, Six Sigma).
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless operations and equipment reliability.
- Conduct performance audits, trend analysis, and implement corrective action plans.
- Administer safety programs and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Utilize Maintenance Management Software and CAD tools for planning and documentation.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred) OR 7+ years of relevant electrical experience in lieu of a degree.
- Electrical Journeyman license a plus.
- 5–7 years of supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, motors, transformers, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with HVAC, baghouses, switch yards, and truck scale systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and maintenance software tools.
- A leadership mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and team development.

Electrical Intern:
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate(s) will be working with either our Engineering or Reliability Team. Following on-the-job training and orientation, the candidates may:
- Update equipment /facility drawings
- Work with outside vendors and consultants, assist in managing contractors
- Assist Engineers on capex improvement projects
- Works closely with and supports electrical planner
- Manage smaller non-capex projects
- Plan electrical jobs and order parts
Requirements:
- Have completed at least two years of a degree from a recognized university in an Electrical discipline
- Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5; preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)
- Experience with AutoCAD design software, PLC's and automation would be a benefit
- Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
- Must be legally authorized to work in the Canada without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with great organizational qualities
- Ability to work independently and be a fast-learner

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with reducing costs and improving quality and customer satisfaction. You will be able to conduct metallurgical investigations for in house and customer issues and be able to perform plant wide trials using problem-solving techniques for continuous improvement.
Preferred credentials should include:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a steelmaking environment
- A BSc. degree in metallurgy or material science
- A strong working knowledge of metallurgy and an understanding of steel manufacturing and techniques used in the melting, casting of molten steel and/or modern rolling practice
- A thorough knowledge of IS9001 Quality System
- Formal problem-solving training such as Six Sigma
