- High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Your Work:
- Operate standard factory-equipped diesel straight truck and tractor with roll-off trailers, dump trailers and van trailers to pick-up a variety of steel products and accessory items from Gerdau steel suppliers.
- Follow standard or prescribed methods or procedures. Work involves a complete range of duties, somewhat repetitive and routine in nature, requiring considerable care to drive tractor/trailer vehicle in a correct and safe manner, properly loading of trucks, and compliance with all DOT laws, rules, and regulations.
- Good working conditions in closed truck cab free from weather elements except in occasional unloading. Subject to some noise, vibration, and fumes, but none to the extent of being disagreeable.
- Make deliveries and/or pick-ups, operating from verbal, written or electronic instructions, invoices, bills of lading, shipping tickets, etc.
- Keep accurate and legible records such as Driver’s Trip Reports, Driver’s Daily Log, Vehicle Inspection Report, and Driver’s Weekly Expense Report.
- Maintain polite, courteous, and diplomatic relations with either customers, receivers, or suppliers with whom contact is made. May be required to contact the supplier for location/placement of roll-off bin.
- Assist loading or unloading; unload without help as necessary; tie down the load with chains or cinches; attach markers for overhang.
- Light physical effort consisting of continuous light exertion in driving, frequent effort in tying down the loads, and assisting unloading.
- Continuous mental and visual attention in coordinating a good degree of manual dexterity with close visual attention for sustained periods.

Mobile Equipment Operator

Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Inspects mobile shear, magnet crane, and stationary shear daily and documents on checklists to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
- Performs daily preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper working order such as lubrication, greasing, fueling, and keeping cab clean.
- Inspects for proper scrap grade and safety and environmental concerns such as tanks, cylinders, etc. while shearing.
- Shear unprepared material into prepared state identifying size, thickness, and physical dimensions.
- Use magnet crane to load/unload scrap from customer vehicles into appropriate piles or railcars in order to process for shipping.
- Use mobile equipment to lift and move scrap from one area of the yard to another.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with yard housekeeping efforts and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.
- Assist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.
- Problem solving input and contributions as required.

BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for providing Controls and Electrical leadership guidance on establishing a productive, high performing, and safety conscious working environment. This position is responsible for the training, guidance, and performance of the controls and electrical team members, as well as managing special projects and activities to improve equipment reliability, optimize maintenance costs, and reduce equipment downtime. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
- Duties will include controlling the workflow within the area of responsibility, assist in minimizing downtime/breakdowns and maximizing productivity, monitor performance, managing routine processes, and training employees in routine management standards.
- Technical coordination and support for implementing and sustaining Controls and Automation efforts to improve safety, equipment reliability, and product quality at optimum efficiency and costs by:
- Software and hardware engineering support.
- PLC programming & hardware architecture.

- Administers all T.P.M. activities and P.M. program as directed.
- Facilitate training sessions for electricians and controls technicians under a maintained training matrix on compliance standards, routine methodologies, failure analysis, tools, policies, practices, and processes.
- Coach and Develop performance expectations, audit performance, document findings, and establish corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with and encourage electricians and control technicians on audits, 5S initiatives, needs assessments, preventive maintenance and safety management processes and procedures, Kaizen Events, and other process routine management activities to identify opportunities for improvement and solve problems.
- Conduct trend analysis, compile, and analyze symptoms and failures.
- Administer all safety activities. Coordinates all emergency preparedness practices, policies, and procedures.
- Track performances on control items. Ensure compliance. Design and implement new as well as updating existing standards.
- Administers the Collective Bargaining Agreement to prevent labor problems, resolve conflict, and provide a positive labor climate.
- Responsible for carrying out company policy, programs, and procedures.
Qualifications for this position include a four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Automation Engineering, or minimum of eight to ten years of applicable work experience in a manufacturing setting. The candidate must have experience in implementation of Industry 4.0 initiatives, and in Level 1 and Level 2. The candidate must demonstrate board knowledge of asset reliability technology and systems. The incumbent should also possess a solid knowledge of engineering concepts and techniques. The successful applicant must solve complex problems, demonstrate project management skills, have a strong motivation to lead, and have a proven track record of delivering results. The Controls Engineer reports to the Finishing Operations Superintendent.

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly
- General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Metals Recycling - Contract Administrator
Job Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of account coordination to support scrap purchase and sales contracts, and other scrap related business processes for Metals Recycling. The Business Support Analyst will liaison with the Recycling Commercial, Operations, Logistics and Accounting teams to provide accurate, reliable and timely results to exceed customer service expectations. The Business Support Analyst will report directly to the Business Support Supervisor.
Principal Accountabilities:
Main point of contact for vendors / customers. Coordinate and orchestrate, cross-functional teams to deliver an optimal customer experience.
Build partnerships & maintain positive relationships, coordinate business & information, effectively address and resolve inquiries & issues promptly.
Collaborate with various teams and business areas to coordinate, guide and oversee end to end processes.
Identify and close gaps, guide processes and policy compliance, while maintaining strong internal controls.
Proactively assess and advise of any potential risk(s) or non-compliance issues related to a process or transaction.
Uphold and promote mitigating controls to support E2E processes, streamline process flow, while securing all supporting documentation for record retention and satisfy routine audit requirements.
Validate pricing, process payables, reconcile statement of accounts. Audit scrap tickets and reconcile with vendor payment schedules, SAP reports and coordinate with Shared Services.
Facilitate periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly) customer reviews and reconciliations, analyze business requirements, troubleshoot issues, and share best practices.
Create, maintain and analyze purchase contracts, coordinate account adjustments related to pricing and dispute resolution, maintain cost recovery programs.
Manage sales orders from set up, credit utilization, receivable reconciliation and dispute resolution to minimize business disruptions.
Coordinate new account set up and maintenance of vendor & customer accounts, grant access to eligible vendors to self-service portal.
Manually manage daily activity, cost processing and summary validation for multiple offsite inventory locations.
Disseminate large volumes of confidential and time sensitive information.
Maintain tax documentation requirements and validate application to processed billings for compliance, audit review, and government reporting.
Export sales coordination, tracking and reporting.
Meet with decision-makers and end-users to define operational requirements, systems goals and improvements as well as identify and resolve systems issues.
Provide subject matter expertise, assist with the implementation of system changes and upgrades.
Coordinate special projects to strengthen and streamline process, mitigate risk and controls, minimize errors and drive data integrity, validation and overall compliance.
Coordinate the review and update of all process documentation and manuals for the activities of the department.
The Individual:
Business Administration University Degree or College Diploma is preferred.
1 to 2 years related field experience is preferred. Excellent knowledge of accounting and finance principles. Advanced Excel and SAP is an asset.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Financial Analyst function within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group is an leading contributor role supporting the FP&A Managers for Planning and Strategy, Operations Management, and Business Development. This position will be responsible for performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual analysis of actual results to better understand how they compare to forecasted/planned performance. Goals of analytic activities are to confirm current actions are achieving desired results, identify new areas for improvement or challenges to achieving desired results, and improving the overall capability of the various Corporate or Operational functions to forecast desired results. The Senior Financial Analyst will be required to work with varying levels of the GNA Management (including the VP level) and to present analysis and action plans to Senior Management.
DIMENSIONS:
Works directly with (or in tandem with their respective FP&A Manager) a Process Leader and their team to monitor, analyze and improve results. Provides direction to functional counterparts in operating units as required, and to operating and senior management on matters involving cost determination problems, or issues such as inventory valuation, distribution of overhead, treatment of joint costs, and product pricing. Conducts special studies and analyses such as determination of work-in-house, or subcontract and cost impact of proposed facilities or processes. Participates in Process Leader team meetings (as appropriate) to ensure current analyses are providing value and to identify where new areas of analysis need to be developed. Works with location controllers to ensure analysis and/or improvement activities are communicated to the appropriate level of accountability to achieve desired results. At times, analysts may be involved with presentations of results developed for the CFO, COO, CEO, Gerdau Ameristeel Executive Committee, Gerdau Ameristeel Board of Directors, Gerdau Group Executive Committee or Gerdau Group Board of Directors.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Senior Financial Analysts will report to one of the FP&A managers; however, given work balancing may receive direction from any of the managers and/or the Director of FP&A. The expectation is that once the individual is transitioned to the FP&A team, they will be able to interact with VP levels, management, etc. with little oversight and direction. Additionally, while not having managerial responsibilities, this position may require the individual to provide functional advice or training to less-experienced financial analyst positions
Travel requirements will be minimal as these roles will generally support analysis of a Corporate group (Commercial, Raw Materials, Downstream, SIOP, Engineering, etc.) or a Mill Operations VP/GM, the majority of which are in the Corporate Office. BASIC FUNCTION:
The incumbent will be responsible for coordination of orders and order entry, implementing and tracking changes responding to, calling, and visiting customers; preparation of shipping releases; and production scheduling related to third party processing for both internal and external resources, purchase order creation, receipt of finished goods, delivery, and shipment creation all in alignment with the unique business strategy. NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap in an economical and efficient manner. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relations with available suppliers including active solicitation of new supply sources, within assigned region. The supplier base will include both established retail processors as well as suppliers whose business is conducted on a direct basis at the retail buying facilities as established at mill divisions.
This position reports directly to the Director-Raw Materials and coordinates activities with other Procurement personnel, Transportation, Melt Shop management, and mill scrap inspection and accounting personnel.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of two years experience in the buying, melting or receiving of steel scrap or similar work experience at an exempt level. In addition, incumbent should possess knowledge of sources and grades of raw materials, along with some knowledge of transportation issues and scrap yard operations.
The incumbent must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate business and must possess strong negotiating, communication, math and problem-solving skills. Candidate must function effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. High ethical standards and a strong work ethic are key attributes. Incumbent will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical and productive relationships with suppliers. This position requires travel to complete job duties and maintain an effective network of vendors, mill personnel, and industry organizations.
The incumbent’s primary responsibility is the cost-effective procurement of retail scrap to support the production plans of facilities. Incumbent must stay abreast of current market trends and be aware of regional scrap markets and competitive situations/practices. Requires utilizing a network of sources to understand market activity and determine the needs of the mill/s supplied.
A key responsibility will be to provide information to other members of the raw materials procurement team. The incumbent will solicit and review competitive alternatives, assess vendor capabilities and past performance, recommend alternative sources for retail scrap and select suppliers based on information gathered. The incumbent will procure retail scrap based on the specific terms of purchase contracts within established policies and procedures, verify purchase order details, and document vendor performance.
Incumbent will work closely with Transportation to keep them informed of new methods of shipment and carriers that may help minimize overall scrap costs. The incumbent will also keep plant and corporate management abreast of changing market conditions.
This position also serves as a liaison between mill personnel and scrap suppliers. This position will provide commercial information that is used in analyzing melting and inventory requirements. Incumbent must remain aware of any changes in melting schedules or blends that will impact scrap requirements, and will assist the Director - Raw Materials in taking appropriate remedial steps needed to support operations in response to changing market conditions.
As required, the incumbent will inspect and address scrap quality issues that arise at the mill site. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms/conditions, and safety and environmental compliance requirements to vendors, shippers, and inspection personnel.
Candidate must be knowledgeable in the computer systems and procedures used to receive, handle and pay for scrap throughout the Company and assist in resolving any problems that may arise with vendors. Candidate must actively coordinate any such issues with appropriate administrative and accounting personnel.

8. Within established policies, resolve discrepancies primarily pertaining to grading, weight settlement, order application, and other disputes with vendors and mill personnel. Issues must be resolved tactfully to maintain sound and effective relationships.
9. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms and conditions and safety and environmental compliance requirements to shippers and plant personnel.

The main objective for the Category Management Analyst I is to effectively manage the strategic

The Category Management Analyst I is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, leading the competitive bid and supplier selection process, negotiating with suppliers, and managing supplier relationships, including contract development and administration.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The primary function of this position is to coordinate and manage the strategic procurement process for assigned categories to ensure the cost effective acquisition of goods and services for Gerdau North America. Job Summary:
Perform a variety of coordinating, checking, verifying, inputting, recording, and filing duties pertaining primarily to the receipt and inspection of scrap coming into the mill by truck. The primary duty of this position is to properly inspect and verify scrap grade and order number. Improper scrap identification or misapplication could result in overpayment per truckload. Operation of peddler scale, pricing, and inspection of scrap. coordinate office functions pertaining primarily to areas of accounts payable, inventory reporting, personnel administration, data transmission, and general office services. Perform these duties with a high degree of accuracy in accordance with corporate and division policy.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize electronic scale to obtain a gross weight for the load using the weighing system and coordinate unloading destination with yard personnel.
- Consult with the scrap representatives and the scrap supplier for clarification on scrap grade prices.
- Complete the weighing process to determine traffic and net weight for the load.
- Process loads of scrap moved by weighing the trucks in accordance with
standard processing procedures.
- Provide daily reporting of radiation detection.
- Using established company procedures, visually inspect scrap for grade/quality.
- Notifies supervisor when dirty cars or trucks are identified or cars or trucks that monitoring devices indicate contain explosive or radioactive materials.
- Compile and record information related to scrap inventory.
- Carry out duties related to personnel administration and local employee relations functions.
- Accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable and data recording operations.
- Accuracy and timeliness of inventory reporting and management.
- Responsible for carrying out company policy and programs, being familiar with the content of the policy manual.

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service

Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly

Job Function:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to make all necessary inspections, adjustments and installations to all trucks and other gasoline, diesel or propane powered equipment used throughout the plant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives work orders including manufacturer’s manuals, covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation and adjustments to be done.
- Inspects gasoline, diesel and propane powered automotive equipment and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor defects such as wear, insufficient lubrication, defective parts, etc. which necessitate repair.
- Repairs, adjusts gasoline, diesel or propane engines, automotive type vehicles driven by gasoline, diesel or propane engines and portable gasoline, diesel or propane engine driven equipment used throughout the plant. Equipment worked on includes trucks, tractors, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, bulldozers and I. C. engine units on crawlers, locomotive cranes, stand-by generators and compressors.
- Repairs and rebuilds motors, grinds and seats valves, replace rings, pistons, bearings, connecting rods, transmission and differential gears, clutches, hydraulic pumps, etc.
- Adjusts and services carburetors, generators, starters, ignition systems, auxiliary air compressors and other gasoline, diesel or propane engine auxiliary equipment, braises as required, solders radiators, does pipe fitting on automotive equipment.
- Erects scaffolding and does simple rigging as required.
- Maintains tolerance of .002” on precision parts, as connecting rod bearings, piston pins, etc. and maintains approximately 0.020” on a large portion of repair and service work.
- Repairs bodies and frames by burning or replacing such items as axles, fenders, doors, windows, etc. Uses testing equipment I troubleshooting on any gasoline, diesel or propane powered equipment used in the plant.
- Refers to catalogues and prints for parts required and requests Maintenance Supervisor to order necessary parts.
- Keeps immediate working area clean. Observes all safety rules.
Required:
- Successful candidate must have a Manitoba Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Trade certificate or equivalent
- Experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication and work ethic, ability to work in a team and with other trades. Basic computer experience necessary.

WHAT YOU HAVE:
- Must be registered in an approved Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – 433A apprenticeship program with Skilled Trades Ontario AND have passed both Level 1 and Level 2 of in-school training OR have a minimum of 4000 hours of documented apprenticeship employment experience.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- 1.Analyze job requests received from various departments for priority, material requirements and scope of project.
- Installation, modification, monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of highly automated industrial control equipment.
- Design, plan, install and maintain a variety of industrial control equipment and instrumentation including: loop controls, variable frequency drives, control panels, load balancing, and complex electrical circuits.
- Work with related diagnostic equipment tooling including: digital volt meters, data recorders, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and other tools and equipment.
- Have a strong understanding of various operating systems and software utilized within programmable logic control systems and human machine interfaces with the ability to make online/offline changes.
- Verifies and adjusts plant instrumentation; routinely checks responsible area control systems; leads and/or assists with program and control upgrades.

- A minimum of 5 years electrical engineering and project management experience in a related field; 10+ years experience preferred

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Minimum five to seven years of experience in quality management within a steel mill or heavy manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of steel grades including ASTM, CAN/CSA, ABS and AASHTO standards and structural steel product requirements, heat treatment, rolling processes, and both destructive and non-destructive testing
- Proficient in statistical process control, root cause analysis and other Lean Six Sigma tools

BASIC FUNCTION:
This role will be responsible for creating new business market strategies and increasing existing market share for GLN in the industry and guide our sustainability efforts from the sales front. This role will handle all functions of new business development from calling and visiting all stakeholders, identifying customer needs, evaluating new opportunities to sell all mill products, planning marketing strategies, and developing action plans to engage stakeholders. The primary focus will be to build customer relationships with key stakeholders in the early development phase and strategically drive new business development initiatives. Key stakeholders could be owner/developers, engineers, architects, general contractors, and channel partners. The person will also be responsible for building and executing our commercial sustainability strategy and identifying market trends and needs to bring them to Gerdau and help build our strategy towards that.
NATURE & SCOPE:
- This role reports directly to the Sales Director.
- Plan, develop, and coordinate potential business development opportunities and marketing for Gerdau’s Business Development and Sales group
- Maintain data for Opportunity Pipeline Cadence Review meetings with Leadership team
- Identify key stakeholders and develop engagement action plans to establish sustainable partnerships with key decision-makers
- Oversee business development efforts to research sources, validate leads, identify project risk, review design plans, scope, and schedule
- Determine opportunities and potential conflicts with channel partners while selling Gerdau products and services
- Evaluate and approve project pipeline, project size, potential EBITDA, and potential alternate solutions for the customer
- Assess value proposition to the customer by understanding the customer’s needs and proposing how Gerdau can provide products, services, industry knowledge, and solutions.
- Determine Gerdau’s role in the value chain and solicit RFQ’s, RFP’s and establish customer rapport
- Prepare and review project proposal with leadership team
- Attend and participate in various industry functions and events
- Advise product development teams with all needed commercial information on customers, products, and market intelligence
- Support shipping forecasts aligned with monthly Demand Planning process
- Stay informed of competitors’ activities and customer status, making recommendations and/or changes to servicing requirements to meet sales objectives

- Represent company at non-steel industry conferences (ie. Data Centers Conventions, Cement industry conventions, GC’s Conventions, etc)
- Act as initial primary point of contact for stakeholder relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field from a four-year accredited college/university.

The primary objective of Improvement Facilitator is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility at the Jackson Mill.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities for improvement within his/her area of responsibility and approve standards developed from these efforts
Responsible for developing and implementing activities that support the annual action plan specifically as they relate to improvement projects

The Individual:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.

The Regional Energy Manager is responsible for securing and maintaining competitive arrangements for the supply of electricity, natural gas, industrial gases, and similar supply/services necessary to meet the energy requirements of the Company.
QUALIFICATIONS

NATURE & SCOPE:
Plant Operations:
The Regional Energy Manager (REM) supplies energy for several mills within a broad geographical region and serves as a resource for plant management for energy forecasts, communication, and collaboration regarding commercial aspects of energy supply. The successful candidate will:
- consult with plant management/users to adequately meet operational needs;
- analyze, develop and implement effective procurement strategies;
- ensure effective implementation of supply arrangements and efficient use of resources;
- identify and pursue improvement opportunities; and
- ensure compliance with established risk management, accounting, and related policies/procedures.
Procurement and Vendor Relations:
The Regional Energy Manager develops and maintains effective business and professional contacts to keep abreast of market conditions, opportunities, and trends while developing supply sources and maintaining favorable vendor relations. In this position, the REM will:
- prepare requests for proposals and contracts;
- create studies of relevant issues and forecasts;
- maintain adequate files and records to compile periodic reports;
- analyze business unit consumption and requirements for energy-related supplies;
- plan purchases to take advantage of emerging market opportunities, meet inventory goals, and anticipate market conditions within established limits of authority;
- obtain competitive bids as required; and
- negotiate major supply arrangements under the general direction of the Director of Energy.
Advocacy:
The Regional Energy Manager serves as the Company’s representative in commercial, regulatory, and governmental activities necessary to protect and further the interests of Gerdau in areas related to energy. In this position, the REM will:
- represent the Company’s interests in local, state/provincial, and national regulatory and legislative arenas;
- work with associations to advocate for improved energy policy for manufacturers;
- work with professionals, consulting resources, and counsel to secure specialized assistance as required, subject to approved budget.

BASIC FUNCTION:
To direct, coordinate and ensure adherence to accounting principles, practices and procedures of the Company; maintaining all accounting and related records. Responsible for the development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, inventories, policies of operations, trends, and increased profit possibilities. Manage financial consolidations and internal financial reporting to the Parent Company and responsible for maintaining a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the Company's reported financial results. Coordinate all audit related activities (including external auditing firm, internal audit plans and bank/government audits). Protect Company assets and accuracy of financial statements, ensures that the Company has effective internal controls (SOX certification). Work with attorneys and accountants on complex accounting matters. Manage financial integration of acquired companies.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Within the established Corporate policies, this position is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Company’s service functions pertaining primarily to financial, general, cost, property and material accounting; d benefit programs accounting; capital expenditures, and management information systems; responsible for coordination, review and approval by outside independent auditors to secure certification of Company’s financial reports and meeting various requirements of the SEC as the largest subsidiary of the publically traded company, Gerdau (GGB) and other governmental agencies.
This position reports to the Vice President, Finance. Reporting directly to this position are 3 Corporate Accounting Managers. Indirect (dotted line) reporting to this position are division controllers who are responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions and monthly financial close and cost accounting of the divisions.
This position is responsible for the review and reporting of the financial results of the largest subsidiary of the publicly-traded parent company on all phases of the Company’s operations to see that they are within International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and meeting various requirements of SEC and other governmental agencies and parent company reporting requirements. In addition, the position oversees the reporting on performance and results of groups, regions, divisions and units to measure accomplishment of corporate goals and objectives; directs preparation and presents annual, quarterly and monthly balance sheets, profit and loss statements, trial balances, management information and other statistical reports.
This position has dotted line reporting from division controllers and is responsible for the oversight and coordination of accounting and financial reporting at the division operations to insure that division accounting is following IFRS and Company accounting policies. This position is involved in selection and training of division controllers and accounting personnel. This position is also responsible for the integration of the accounting functions and systems during acquisitions.
This position also is responsible for its own departmental results to see that all phases are within acceptable standards. In this capacity, this position is responsible for analyzing departmental costs, financial and operating reports; check practices and procedures to insure optimum efficiency at the lowest costs; take prompt corrective action as necessary; make inquiries and investigations into areas that appear to be outside acceptable standards or where financial or management accounting questions arise.
Cooperate and coordinate with Corporate officers, group or staff vice presidents on common subjects or matters of mutual interest. Assist administrative staff members and/or outside consultants involving projects, studies or surveys which may be undertaken. Keep abreast of developments, methods and procedures within the accounting and related disciplines. Maintain effective liaison with external auditors, legal services, governmental
agencies and accounting related organizations as is necessary to the fulfillment of this function.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent from an accredited university
- 10 years of experience, including significant exposure and working knowledge of financial reporting, budgetary control, cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience working with a multi-entity, international company.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP.
- CPA or Advanced degree in business related programs preferred
- Broad knowledge of corporate management and cost accounting, finance, financial data processing, business administration and accounting theory.
- Strong analytical mindset with a balance of technical accounting and operational insight.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide management with the financial and accounting information needed to monitor operations, identify problems and otherwise improve performance of the organization. Provide complete management accounting support to operating vice presidents and to their division managers.
- Responsible for financial reporting to the publically traded parent company. Also responsible for review and approval of quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure that all required periodic financial and accounting reports are accurate and prepared timely; in accordance with IFRS and with current regulations of various governmental agencies such as SEC and IRS.
- Ensure that the Company’s accounting policies and IFRS are followed at the Company’s operating divisions.
- Responsible for comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process performed by external auditors and internal auditors.
- Contribute effectively in the coordination of activities outside the group which supports its work on mutual areas of responsibility or combined projects.
- Provide leadership, direction and training to all of the accounting functions of the organization including corporate accounting staff, and field controllers and accountants.
- Select, develop, evaluate and motivate subordinates to provide the Controller Group with a source of qualified management talent.
