You Have:
- A four-year degree in Engineering or Business Administration

Your Purpose:
You will coordinate and manage the strategic procurement process for assigned categories to ensure the cost-effective acquisition of Internal Industrial Services for Gerdau North America. Job Summary:
This position monitors and assists in controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles, shipments and containers through use scale and software systems. All activity must be accounted for and accurately documented on scale tickets, bills of lading, purchase orders and packing slips, etc.
Nature and Scope:
Directly reporting to the Division Manager, the Scale Operator must regularly communicate with dispatch personnel and other scale operators to assist with company vehicle traffic and all incoming and outgoing yard traffic. This position interacts frequently with yard operations including but not limited to emergency contact for yard operations, material receiving personnel, internal and external drivers as well as management, sales and I.T. personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Enthusiastic greeting of customers and ascertain material grade including all necessary paperwork needed to safely direct all incoming loads to the proper locations throughout the facility.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. Record supplier, truck or car identification, contract number (if appropriate), description and grade of material, gross, tare and net weights, and discharge location of the load. This includes accurate recording of load deductions (non-conforming material), re-pricing as directed by Buyers, printing and distributing scale tickets as required.
- Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
- Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
- Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
- Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
- Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
- Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.
- Constantly maintain radio contact with the appropriate yard personnel including and being aware of Emergency calls and proper handling of different types of situations.
- Maintain and implement safe work procedures while ensuring all guests have been informed of and adhere to proper PPE requirements.
- Consistently monitor and lifting of main yard arm.
- Manage the work area by keeping all paperwork processed and neatly filed as well as maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of scale house and workstations according to 5S Standards.
- Review, file and fax all scale tickets daily and as required prior to end of shift.
- Accurately weigh in Public Scale tickets with understanding of receiving cash or billing to the appropriate customer.
- Daily cash reconciliation.
Skills and Abilities:
- This position must have basic MS Office computer skills and be able to communicate well with others.
- They must also have the ability accurately multitask at a fast pace positive manner.
- Must possess excellent telephone skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively when dealing with customers, carriers, and company drivers.

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly
- General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Engineering Intern Student will provide technical coordination and support in the operating and capital expense management processes for the department alongside the Engineering Department. This position reports directly to the senior member of the engineering team for assignments. The incumbent will take part in project evaluation, technical studies, oversight, and contribution to assigned responsibilities and entering project information in EPM and MS project software.

Perform a variety of coordinating, checking, verifying, inputting, recording, and filing duties pertaining primarily to the receipt and inspection of scrap coming into the mill by truck. The primary duty of this position is to properly inspect and verify scrap grade and order number. Improper scrap identification or misapplication could result in overpayment per truckload. We are looking to hire one (1) Licensed Mechanic at our Whitby Shredder location. The successful candidate will possess one of the following licenses: 310S, 310T, or 433A.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Perform general maintenance and repair operations, to ensure overall plant, equipment, machinery and tools are in good operating condition while working in many of the diversified capacities required by maintenance.
Primary Function:
To inspect, repair, and make welding repairs as necessary, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment, including hydraulic equipment, in a producing unit or assigned areas.
Welding test for Maintenance Technician I consists of welding 3 samples in the horizontal, flat and vertical positions in a Tee formation. Test pieces will be subject to break/bend test by offsite party.
Working Procedures:
- Completes all required regulatory/safety training & will follow all safety rules & requirements including maintaining a clean work area.
- Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done
- Performs preventative maintenance and inspects mill equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear insufficient lubrication, hydraulic system, etc. Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate plant construction activities as required for installation of new plant equipment or modification to existing equipment. The construction coordination may involve maintenance personnel, production personnel, and/or outside contractors. The Project Engineer will coordinate meetings as needed with the personnel who requested or will be affected by the new or modified equipment. Before the installation or modification of the equipment the Project Engineer may request quotations, develop installation schedules, and assist with fabrication details. This position must also ensure that the maintenance or construction personnel have accurate reference materials to install all equipment conduit, wiring, control desks, MCC’s switch gears, etc. required for a successful electrical outage.
The major challenge of this position is to ensure that equipment purchases and designs are durable, economical, and easy to fabricate and install. Installation or modification of equipment is to be accomplished with the minimum amount of outage duration and be on or below the approved budget.
The Project Engineer job functions may involve high and low-voltage distribution systems and equipment, AC & DC drive systems, instrumentation and control, programmable logic and computer control, and electrical machinery. Within these areas, work may include design specification, purchasing, supervision of construction and installation, commission, and troubleshooting of new or modified equipment.
Assist the Environmental Engineer, Sr. Project Engineer, and or Engineering Manager with miscellaneous environmental and engineering activities.
Some work items may require the services of outside engineering consultants. In this case, this position will be involved in establishing design objectives, prepare engineering bid specifications, and competitively bid the work. After receiving approval to perform the work the engineer will coordinate and monitor activities of the consultant to ensure equipment compatibility with the departments which will operate and maintain the new equipment.
Maintain equipment files and resource materials such as drawings, instruction manuals, test data, design criteria, and specifications. These materials are to be organized to facilitate their use for three key purposes: as a maintenance aid, as a basis for equipment performance evaluation, and as a reference for new design and installation. These resources are to be made available to maintenance personnel to maximize their value in troubleshooting, operations, and preventive maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5-6 years’ experience working in an industrial/manufacturing/construction environment
- Experience with Allen Bradley control systems
- Experience with WonderWare systems preferred

Your Purpose:

Gerdau is looking for an experienced Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment. This would include but is not limited to communication systems, various mill and production equipment, electronic computing and controls systems, power and distribution control devices, gauges, and instrumentation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze all types of circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings as required to install and maintain electrical and electronic devices and systems.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Primary responsibilities include: plan, coordinate, and perform all operations required to install, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, modify, construct, calibrate, test, service and program complex control systems in support of steel production and related plant operations. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Summary:
Plan, lay out, and perform all operations required to install, troubleshoot, repair, construct, modify, calibrate, test, service, and program highly complex equipment in support of steel production operation and related plant facilities. Need to have knowledge of electrical and electronic wiring specification, properties of various materials, and the principles of operation and application of equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic controls and systems, using required knowledge and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fluidic, and electrical systems/components, as well as how they operate.
- Perform rounds and check machinery to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.
- Exercise judgement when troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and all high-voltage systems at or below 480 volts.
- Inspect and perform daily maintenance on all shop machinery, mobile equipment, HVAC Systems, PLC networks, and cranes, and repairs or replaces worn items as required.
- Service the electrical aspect of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems as needed.
- Lay out, install, and maintain a variety of complete electronically-controlled equipment, such as rolling mill loop controls, secondary distribution centers, programmable sequences, and pulpit control panel.
- Balance loads and wire complex circuits.
- Work with related diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeter, paper recorder, multi-volt meter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment.
- Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints at an intermediate level.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed.

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
- Provide excellent customer service.

Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Your Purpose:

JOB TITLE: Dispatcher
Basic Function:
The Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of pick-ups and deliveries for the Gerdau Ameristeel Recycling fleet of twenty-four (24) units and the customers: both divisions and third party.
The incumbent must possess a secondary school diploma, and requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic. Ideally the candidate will have two (2) years experience in the logistics/dispatch related industry.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Primary functions are tax compliance for the Company and its subsidiaries. Primarily responsible for the preparation of all sales and use, property, fuel, intangible federal excise, and occupational tax returns and timely payment of associated taxes. NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Tax Accountant reports directly to the State/Local Tax Manager who reports to the Director of Taxes. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position is responsible for:
- The preparation of the Company’s sales and use tax, real and personal property tax, fuel oil and mileage tax returns.
- State and Local tax compliance by completing and filing all returns, tax research and analysis as necessary to maintain compliance.
- Registration and renewal with state and local entities where the Company has locations, has employees or does business to obtain business licenses, tax identification numbers, etc.
- Filing annual reports as required by various state and local entities where the Company has a business presence.
- Assisting with sales/use tax audits, real/personal property tax audits, etc. and negotiating with taxing authorities on behalf of the Company to minimize assessments and taxes while remaining in compliance with tax regulations.
- Calculating and reconciling to the general ledger, property tax accruals for all Company locations and cost centers and communicating significant changes or variances to division managers and controllers.
- Filing tax refund claims with taxing jurisdictions where the company is due tax credits or tax refunds.
- Reconciling sales and use tax liability general ledger accounts on a regular monthly basis.
- Assisting corporate and division personnel with local tax issues, tax research and recommendations.
- Providing feedback to management on strategies and ideas to minimize taxes and/or reduce expenses while remaining in compliance with all tax laws and regulations.

Job Scope:
This position should have a broad knowledge of tax regulations and procedures plus a general knowledge of accounting and accounting principles. Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. BASIC FUNCTION:

DIMENSIONS:
This position serves in an advisory capacity for all levels of employees, contractors and plant management; however, this position will not be responsible for supervising direct reports. This position has direct responsibility for specific projects with medium complexity and values up to $2,000,000. They may also be required to work with a dedicated team on strategic projects with high complexity and values up to $100,000,000. From time to time, the incumbent may be required to travel to work on CAPEX projects.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for the planning, budgeting, and execution of CAPEX projects. They shall prepare and/or review all engineering, financial, and operational data needed for the correct and efficient development of capital projects. This will include the need to work in close cooperation with department supervisors and appropriate engineering, maintenance, and operations team members to ensure correct and proper selection, installation, and operation of all related equipment to obtain the desired production, safety, and quality levels as needed. The position may be required to work in a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate, plan, budget, and execute complex capital projects.
Qualifications for this position include a four-year college degree in Engineering combined with up to five (5) to eight (8) years of industrial experience. The incumbent should be a specialist in at least one (1) engineering field. Must be knowledgeable in project management techniques used in the development and execution of capital projects. Successful candidate must be able to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of CAPEX and maximize the efficiency of the overall plant operation.
This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager, typically an Engineer IV or Engineer V, or the Division Engineering Manager for assignments. The incumbent must possess good communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, detail oriented, and be comfortable dealing with associates at all levels within the organization. This job is accountable for the mechanical and electrical maintenance of all equipment of an area or department or modification to existing equipment.
The modification coordination will involve maintenance personnel, production personnel, and/or outside contractors. Prior to the installation or modification of the equipment, the Lead Maintenance Facilitator will request quotations, develop installation schedules, and assist with fabrication details. This job reports to the Department Superintendent. Reporting to the incumbent directly are the Routine and Improvement Facilitators (E & M) and the Maintenance Planner, and indirectly Controls Technicians, Maintenance Turn Facilitators (when applicable), and a crew of approximately sixty (60) hourly maintenance employees.
Working through and with facilitators, the Maintenance Lead Facilitator is responsible for employee training, evaluation, promotion, and discipline; for determining work methods, change over procedures, work schedules and practices.
The incumbent directs OSHA conformance functions to correct unsafe conditions. Cooperates with the Safety Manager in developing and directing programs to create and maintain employee interest and participation toward safety. The incumbent will advise facilitators of the proper interpretation and applications of all company personnel policies toward safety.
The incumbent will develop and coordinate departmental budget for maintenance, including updates of all major Maintenance R&M and Shutdown budgets. Makes recommendations for capital expenditures to provide production with more efficiency, lower costs, higher quality, and quantity production.
Incumbent maintains a general housekeeping activity, in accordance with established procedures.
This job has several challenges such as planning installations or modifications of equipment with a minimum amount of production disruption or outage duration. The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.

- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.

- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).

Requirements:

NATURE & SCOPE:
Plant Operations:
The Regional Energy Manager (REM) supplies energy for several mills within a broad geographical region and serves as a resource for plant management for energy forecasts, communication, and collaboration regarding commercial aspects of energy supply. The successful candidate will:
- consult with plant management/users to adequately meet operational needs;
- analyze, develop and implement effective procurement strategies;
- ensure effective implementation of supply arrangements and efficient use of resources;
- identify and pursue improvement opportunities; and
- ensure compliance with established risk management, accounting, and related policies/procedures.
Procurement and Vendor Relations:
The Regional Energy Manager develops and maintains effective business and professional contacts to keep abreast of market conditions, opportunities, and trends while developing supply sources and maintaining favorable vendor relations. In this position, the REM will:
- prepare requests for proposals and contracts;
- create studies of relevant issues and forecasts;
- maintain adequate files and records to compile periodic reports;
- analyze business unit consumption and requirements for energy-related supplies;
- plan purchases to take advantage of emerging market opportunities, meet inventory goals, and anticipate market conditions within established limits of authority;
- obtain competitive bids as required; and
- negotiate major supply arrangements under the general direction of the Director of Energy.
Advocacy:
The Regional Energy Manager serves as the Company’s representative in commercial, regulatory, and governmental activities necessary to protect and further the interests of Gerdau in areas related to energy. In this position, the REM will:
- represent the Company’s interests in local, state/provincial, and national regulatory and legislative arenas;
- work with associations to advocate for improved energy policy for manufacturers;
