What You Bring

What You’ll Do
As an Industrial Electrician, you’ll keep our plant running safely and efficiently by performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across a wide range of industrial systems.
Your Impact
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems
- Diagnose issues with AC/DC motors, PLCs, drives, and high‑voltage systems (≤480V)
- Perform routine rounds to identify abnormalities and ensure equipment is operating within spec
- Maintain and repair cranes, mobile equipment, PLC networks, pumps, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Lay out, install, and maintain electronically controlled equipment including rolling mill loop controls, programmable sequences, and distribution centers

Metals Recycling Logistics Analyst, Whitby Office
Job Summary:
Perform diversified duties pertaining to maintaining current transportation structures within Gerdau freight system. Responsible for assisting with negotiating proposals and verifying shipping procedures. This position will solicit quotes and maintaining rate and freight tracking systems.
Nature and Scope:
The Logistics Analyst coordinates activities with regional area shipping managers, mill shipping supervisors, and accounting personnel. Incumbent will provide logistics information for routine and established accounts to the raw materials group, mill products sales, and other departments as required. This position serves as system wide administrator for freight systems by maintaining the freight rate tracking program, calculating various transportation rates, updating system with changes as required, and communicating between Gerdau shipping departments and information services. Additionally, the incumbent will maintain carrier files and contracts. The incumbent must also possess the ability to process and disseminate large amounts of information, as well as problem solving skills, ability to multitask and customer service skills.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for dispatching dump trailers and scows to bring materials into the Whitby Mill and Shredder as required.
- Responsible for assisting with negotiating proposals, establishing, and verifying shipping procedures.
- Responsible for assisting with the negotiation of confidential contracts, rates, and services, with dump trailer and scow carriers at the most effective cost.
- Analyzes, summarizes, and disseminates large amounts of highly confidential and classified information.
- Independently analyzes new rate proposals, economic conditions, increases, and rate changes as needed to determine carrier competitiveness.
- Work with outside transportation service providers, Gerdau departments and locations, regional transportation managers, and mill shipping supervisors to obtain and provide information to meet logistics needs.
- Responsible for reviewing and evaluating, and processing customer, carrier, and company transportation issues.
- Prepares and files Freight Claim documentation with Transportation Vendors in accordance with policy, and disseminates claim information to Gerdau logistics, commercial, and financial personnel as needed.
- Assists in investigating payment discrepancies, resolving issues related to incorrect data entry.
- Performs other related duties as may arise and provides support as needed to shipping locations, sales department, or customers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Four-year degree, in business administration or in a related field from an accredited college or university,
- Two years logistics experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and Access)
- Database management.

Job Type: Full-time SALARY: Expected Wage Range $57,280.00-62,000.00/year. This represents the expected hiring range and is inclusive of total compensation. Your Purpose:
You will assist with maintaining roll/guides inventory, equipment changes, and building the rolling mill stands for production.
Your Work:
- Use shop mathematics together with the use of blueprints, specifications, charts, tables, and computer and precision measuring instruments.
- Assembly of straightener rolls/guides, shear blades, and saw blades and inspect for conformance to specifications.
- Rebuild old guides and rolls, first removing slag with scrapers, pry bars, cutting torches, or hammers.
- Disassemble previously installed mill stands and install and align new rolls.
- Set and adjust bolts to position rolls on mill stands using wrenches and bars.
- Assemble and grease mill stands using hand and air powered

ools and operate the offline setup verification system. - Perform equipment changes related to the building of the mill stands, which may include rolls, chocks, lubrication systems, water sprays, and guides.
- Ensure roll/guides and consumable inventory levels are replenished and validated.
- Assist with rolling stand changeovers and cobble removal.
- Perform routine equipment care, record, and inspection on vehicles and mobile equipment.
- Operate overhead cranes to transfer products or materials.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma/ GED preferred OR successful completion of an entrance exam.
- 1-3 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
- Must be mechanically inclined. CNC Machine experience is a plus!
- The ability to work a rotating 12 hr shift, days, nights, and two consecutive weekends a month. (Dupont 4/3 schedule)
- Basic computer skills.
- General math, advanced problem solving, ability to multi-task..
- Ability to use charts, schedules, and touchscreens when applicable.

Primary Function
Performs general labor work and housekeeping in or around the plant as directed. To provide general labor for work in the steel bar processing areas to train in all steel processing lines of progression. Will be used to fill in entry level positions where qualified.
Tools and Equipment
Using hand tools, grinders, banding tools, overhead cranes,and other associated mobile equipment and designated safety equipment. Remove bent, damaged, and shortened pieces from machines, conveyor system, transfer tables/ beds, and finished bundles. Manually stack and band products as directed.
Specific Functions:
- Maintain Housekeeping in area
- Performs general labor work such as but not limited to cleanup projects; maintaining storage areas: cut scrap; bar conditioning; build forms for concrete work; painting and minor plant and building projects, as assigned.
- Works as extra helper on assigned crew and takes assignment to departments as extra or fill in help as needed and where qualified.
- Performs janitorial duties such as daily cleaning of plant offices, windows, floors, wastebaskets and plant toilet facilities and cafeteria as assigned or directed.

BASIC FUNCTION:
This jobs primary function is to build relationships with customers and help support the sale of Gerdau product(s) to our customers (i.e., revenue generation)
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
% | Description of duty/responsibility |
70% | Establish rapport, trust and strong relationships with customers via face to face meetings (in person); representing Gerdau as a company and understanding their business needs and how Gerdau can help meet those needs with our products and offerings. This includes calling on the current book of business with B, C, D customers (limited interactions with A level customers) and also looking with in the territory for brand new customer opportunities (networking, face to face visits, trade shows, current customers, etc.). Routinely need to create or review market analysis data to support growth in his/her territory, but should not be the main focus of the job. As an estimate, this position will spend no more than 30% of time looking at new customers and the remainder on existing customers. |
15% | Establish the forecast for 2-3 months out based on customers’ needs for tons (use both volume and price) |
5% | Decision and analysis on pricing with customers in terms of what type of discount or rebate they are able to offer depending on size of customers, strategic impact and volume of the order. |
10% | Collaborate with the Inside Sales, Customer Service, Fulfillment and Marketing groups to ensure customers are sending in orders and accepting orders when they come in. |
Scope
:This position will be responsible for sales and volume within a specific territory and for a specific product line(s). This position will have established sales goals/quotas (volume, forecast accuracy, price) to attain within his/her territory. The approximate size/volume of territory is up to 10,000 tons per month. The mix of customers and tons can vary greatly from territory to territory and product to product.
Qualifications and Educational requirement(s):
Two – five years of sales experience and a four year degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred experience in the following industries (not required): 1. Steel, 2. Metals Manufacturing, 3. Commodities pertaining to the steel industry, 4. Metals Distribution/Service Centers, 5. General Manufacturing (industrial, car).
Preferred degree in the following areas (not required): 1. Business with Sales and Marketing emphasis, 2. Engineering or Material sciences

Job Summary
The Yard Operator plays a key role in supporting daily yard operations and overall operational effectiveness. This position requires a broad skill set and the ability to perform a variety of tasks. The Yard Operator must have knowledge of scrap grading or demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn. Responsibilities include scrap inspection, ferrous and non‑ferrous purchasing support, operation of mobile equipment, and completion of general maintenance activities.
The Yard Operator is expected to safely operate material handling equipment such as cranes and loaders to complete daily tasks. Regular communication with the scale operator, supervisor, coworkers, and customers is essential, particularly regarding material quality and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to yard operations.
- Perform a variety of tasks ranging from simple to moderately complex, ensuring proper procedures are consistently followed.
- Ensure all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation; quarantine any material that fails the scan and notify appropriate personnel immediately.
- Operate loaders and/or material handlers to load and unload scrap material in accordance with Gerdau and customer quality standards.
- Inspect incoming scrap to ensure it meets quality and environmental standards; apply appropriate deductions and downgrades and communicate findings to the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap grades and quality, identifying deductions and downgrades as required.
- Ensure all outbound materials meet safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC) activities.
- Detect and report faulty materials, environmental hazards, safety concerns, or improper equipment operation; escalate unusual issues to supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and equipment.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Promote and practice Gerdau’s core values.

Locations with Rail Operations
For facilities with rail operations, responsibilities include shifting full and empty railcars, operating locomotives, activating switches, coupling and uncoupling cars, and setting brakes or wheel blocks in accordance with standard operating procedures.

- Assist with monthly inventory counts, where applicable.
- Support maintenance personnel with equipment repairs as directed.
- Operate baler equipment.
- Assist with non‑ferrous processing, including material segregation to upgrade products (e.g., copper, brass, aluminum).
- Support coworkers in daily operational tasks essential to yard safety, efficiency, and profitability.
- Stage and remove material for torching using a material handler, where applicable.
- Contribute to problem-solving efforts as required.

BASIC FUNCTION:
This position also known as a Process Engineer will assist the the Melt Shop leadership, department superintendents, and plant management in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility. The major role of this job is to focus on continuous casting (steel) improvement and integration of improvement principles, technical and engineering principles, identifying best practices, consistent application of the methodology to stabilize operations and act as a change agent to help achieve a higher level of results within the assigned location by utilizing and implementing improvement processes.
DIMENSIONS:
This position serves in as process engineer with continuous casting background. No direct reports. Serves as a coach to all production and maintenance employees, and plant management. Primary responsibility and accountability rests with higher levels of supervision.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The major role of this job is to identify opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production within the area of responsibility. These duties will include the development and implementation of new as well as adjusting existing standards, structures, systems, and equipment. This position is responsible to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility. Incumbent will be responsible for reaching improvement through the application of the available methods and tools provided through Gerdau Systems improvement principles in conjunction with the use of technical and engineering principles. Responsible for coordinating improvement activities directly with the appropriate Superintendent, leadership, and staff within area of responsibility.
Qualifications for this position include a four year college degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Material Science combined with 3 to 5 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality methods. Incumbent must have a strong working knowledge of steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment. Previous qualifying experience in scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, shipping/warehouse operations, and supervisory/facilitation a must. Successful candidate will demonstrate an advanced knowledge in the melt shop area, focused on the casting process of steel fabrication, and the use of complex technical and engineering processes. Requires the ability to train people and serve as a coach to employees. The incumbent should possess solid presentation abilities combined with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
This position directly reports to the Area Manager. The incumbent will coordinate efforts with the different functional groups both within area of responsibility and other areas of the location. The incumbent would be detail oriented and must be comfortable dealing with associates at all levels within the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight, contribution to, and support of all the trainings and development activities for employees of the location.
The Process Engineer will assist location management with the Annual Action Plan and the administration of established policies, procedures, and processes. This job is responsible for CAPEX projects and compiling and analyzing project data. This position will have moderate scope and breadth of responsibility for material manufacturing processes as well as the multitude and complexity of the equipment utilized in the manufacturing process. There is a moderate level of budgetary and CAPEX related expenditures. The incumbent will coach employees on QIS improvement methodologies.
The primarily responsibility for this job is the oversight, contribution to, and support of Gerdau processes, 5S initiatives, failure analysis, results management, Improvement projects, 6 Sigma and other process improvement methodologies. The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight, contribution to, and support of all the safety activities. The incumbent must possess good communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, give feedback, resolve conflicts, and point out areas where improvement is needed, as well as the ability to develop a positive relationship with employees in order to develop credibility. Must be results oriented and have the ability to motivate others.
The incumbent must perform the above mentioned duties and responsibilities in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations. Employees must also report any situation that may have a detrimental impact to human health or the environment to their immediate supervisor.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain goal and project data bases. Perform trend analysis on the performance data as well as identify commonalities within the data.

- Provide consulting services to the departments on improvement methodologies and tools. Design new and revamp existing structures, systems, and equipment.
- Provide support in implementation, maintenance, and follow up on the vertical and horizontal help chain.

Your Purpose
:
Under the direction of the Mill Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for completing inspections and monitoring environmental activities in the steel mill and reporting deficiencies and / or non-compliance. Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for maintaining and stocking consumables for the Furnace or Caster, general housekeeping duties (includes 5S and cleaning), assisting other furnace operators as needed and may be responsible for collecting and running slag samples.

Reporting to the Roll Shop Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to set up and operate a computer numerically controlled lathe to machine all types of new and used rolls to finished size and contour for all sections rolled in the Mill.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans working procedures from instructions, prints, computer programs, and work orders
- Slings rolls and places them in a lathe using a crane
- Centers and fastens roll in the lathe
- Barrels new rolls
- Selects and profiles cutting tools for the job in accordance with hardness, machinability, desired contour, and surface of the roll to be turned and set up in the tool holder
- Sets up and operates CNC lathe to turn any type of roll to finished size within close tolerances
- Selects and adjusts speeds and feeds for material to be cut
- Turns rolls to specifications and intermittently checks dimensions for compliance using a protractor, calipers, micrometers, rulers, straights edge, pass templates, and thickness gauges.
- Observes turning of roll, interrupts upon deviation from specifications, and corrects minor errors in a computer program by manually overriding computer
- Operates lathe manually to complete finishing of the roll such as taking out points, blending radii, and using plugs
- Operates milling machine to cut deformations in rolls
- Operates electric discharge machine (EDM) to brand rolls
- Inspects and lubricate equipment
Additional Responsibilities:
- Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules and guidelines for all tasks being performed.
- Responsible for training other personnel on electrical systems, PLC’s, networks, process changes, etc.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Job Description
Perform in both a quality assurance and EMT role within the plant. Quality assurance functions include performing the chemical analysis of heat samples and physical testing of various steel mill rolled products. Maintain and operate spectrograph and related equipment to access chemical composition of heats. Maintain and operate tensile test machine and bending test apparatus to check conformity of rolled products to specification physical requirements. Responsible for grade and size tractability throughout production process. Record, verify and submit test results to supervisor. EMT functions include responding to employee requests/need for first aid treatment, assessing the need and providing appropriate care within limits of approved & established practices. Maintain first aid log, report all treatment administered, accompany employee as needed when seeking further medical attention. Participate in continued education to maintain EMT license.

BASIC FUNCTION
:
The primary responsibility for a Senior Buyer is the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services to support production plans throughout a procurement region, per designated commodities/categories. These activities include, but are not limited to the negotiations, maintenance, and execution of national, regional and/or local supplier agreements, as well as, facilitating team-based supplier selection and overall contract management. NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is responsible for purchasing goods and services in a timely, economical, and efficient manner. The Senior Buyer oversees all purchasing activities, maintenance, and execution of the procurement process to meet commercial, operating, and cost requirements. Incumbent will participate in the development of tactical plans for procurement, establishing and maintaining effective relations with the supplier base, and the active execution and implementation of national, regional and local supply contracts.
The incumbent should possess extensive knowledge of the steelmaking industry, manufacturing, industrial relations, logistics, procurement procedures, and the ability to analyze technical drawings. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Economics or related field or at least 10 years of direct procurement experience generating and implementing contracts, as well as, managing purchase orders, documenting negotiations, communications and accounting, taxes, and legal implications is required. A professional certification in procurement or supply chain management preferred.
The incumbent must be a self-starter, and possess strong skills in negotiations, communications, math, analysis and problem-solving. The incumbent must be able to function independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. High ethical standards, leadership and a strong work ethic are also key attributes. This position requires extensive knowledge of Quality Management Methodologies.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain current and thorough knowledge of appropriate local markets and competitive practices as well as procurement systems, company information systems and other business applications.
- Conduct scheduling analysis to determine supply/demand conditions for the needs of the mills supplied. Adjusts quantities and expedites delivery schedules for purchases in accordance with monthly buying plans.
- Act as a liaison with the supplier community in order to establish and maintain market relationships.
- Monitor and maintain continuity of supply and on time delivery as well as physical, safety-related, and environmental aspects of materials purchased. Settle procurement discrepancies within management guidelines to maintain standards and ongoing supply chain activities.

- Manage supply agreements between Central and Region keeping the agreements updated as to pricing, demand, balance and monitor Gerdau and Supplier performance to said agreements in order to ensure the continuity of supply and the commercial relationship.
- Train and communicate specifications, commercial terms and conditions, and safety & environmental compliance requirements to shippers and plant personnel.
- Facilitate sessions to communicate procurement improvement methodologies, tools, policies, practices, and processes to regional procurement teams.
- Support the Regional Procurement Manager with daily executions of procurement activities, including but not limited to: guiding and coaching team members in the areas of purchase order execution, expediting, supplier development, and non-conformance treatment.
- Implement the standardization and continual improvement of the procurement process and the attainment of other identified procurement Key Performance Indicators within the Gerdau Business Systems guidelines.
- Manage the acquisition of CapEx equipment and ensure services are carried out according to technical specifications and meeting internal customer needs. Additional CapEx duties may include: management of milestone payments; monitoring of obligations of both the supplier and Gerdau, monitoring and expediting of manufacturing and construction timelines. WHAT YOU HAVE:
- Must be registered in an approved Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – 433A apprenticeship program with Skilled Trades Ontario AND have passed both Level 1 and Level 2 of in-school training OR have a minimum of 4000 hours of documented apprenticeship employment experience.

Adjusts equipment for proper operating gears, bearings and shafts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits. Operates simple machine tools, such as drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc. Babbitts and scrapes bearing as required. Erects scaffolds and performs all rigging as necessary.
- Performs all mechanical repairs as required on cranes and mobile equipment.
- Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of pipe lines, fittings, fixtures and pressure systems as required.
- Repairs leaks in hydraulic systems. Replaces section of pipe that have sprung leaks. Removes and installs complete operating components such as cylinders, oil motors, four way valves, check valves, etc. that are kept as spares for assemblies on production units, and makes necessary repairs to same.
- Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.
- Works with repair crews as directed and/or required.
- Completes reports and forms as directed.
- Exercises all required safety precautions and maintains a clean work area.
- Operates mobile equipment as required.
- Operates E.O.T. crane as required for maintenance purposes.
- Manages hazardous waste

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for leading a team of Sales Representatives within an assigned region selling products to different market segments. The sales team is responsible for introducing new and existing customers to new and existing products, ensuring the company registers profits and makes the business more successful. NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position reports directly to the Director of Sales of GSN, and performs managerial, administrative, sales, and marketing duties pertaining primarily to the profitable sale of the assigned region. Duties include a broad scope of sales and marketing responsibilities and other outside contacts including pricing recommendations and sales coordination. Compilation of information related to current market trends, products, customers and competitors in the region are also expected from the incumbent.
These responsibilities should be performed with minimal functional guidance except for policy and general direction.
Incumbent prepares sales price recommendations for approval by Director of Sales and the Director of Marketing. The incumbent should possess good knowledge of general sales and marketing techniques within the steel industry and, specifically, a good knowledge of the customer base for all mill products and their primary markets.
The incumbent plans, organizes, develops, implements and continually monitors a comprehensive marketing and sales program to achieve the volume, pricing and profit objectives established in both the long and short-term plans. Close attention must be maintained to market conditions so that timely and decisive recommendations can be made to senior management. This includes maximizing profits based on portfolio analysis and balancing EBITDA generation with strategic market share goals.
In order to attain sales goals and administer the sales program, the incumbent closely directs the activities of Sales Representatives within the region and is responsible for their training and development so that their abilities and job performances are developed to the maximum.
Position has direct sales responsibility with major accounts, which requires establishment of a close relationship with the principals of these accounts, maintaining a high level of sensitivity to customer needs and insuring proper responses are made in a timely manner. Must be persuasive, well-mannered, and have good negotiation skills.
Gathers market intel and maintains an acute awareness of the capabilities of competing Mills and their competitive practices as well as current understanding of the sales and marketing strategies of competing Mills.
Maintains effective liaison with the Credit Manager with regard to credit worthiness of new accounts and payment status of open accounts as well as makes recommendations for credit strategies.
Besides business acumen, a great deal of initiative and ingenuity is required in this position. The incumbent should aggressively pursue sales possibilities for all Company products and services when possibilities present themselves. Sales territories must be established and maintained consistent with market conditions, profitability objectives and sales requirements.
The qualifications for this job are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field from a four-year college or university is required.

Job Summary:
This position monitors and assists in controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles, shipments and containers through use scale and software systems. All activity must be accounted for and accurately documented on scale tickets, bills of lading, purchase orders and packing slips, etc.
Nature and Scope:
Directly reporting to the Division Manager, the Scale Operator must regularly communicate with dispatch personnel and other scale operators to assist with company vehicle traffic and all incoming and outgoing yard traffic. This position interacts frequently with yard operations including but not limited to emergency contact for yard operations, material receiving personnel, internal and external drivers as well as management, sales and I.T. personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Enthusiastic greeting of customers and ascertain material grade including all necessary paperwork needed to safely direct all incoming loads to the proper locations throughout the facility.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. Record supplier, truck or car identification, contract number (if appropriate), description and grade of material, gross, tare and net weights, and discharge location of the load. This includes accurate recording of load deductions (non-conforming material), re-pricing as directed by Buyers, printing and distributing scale tickets as required.
- Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
- Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
- Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
- Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
- Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
- Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.
- Constantly maintain radio contact with the appropriate yard personnel including and being aware of Emergency calls and proper handling of different types of situations.
- Maintain and implement safe work procedures while ensuring all guests have been informed of and adhere to proper PPE requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Engineering Intern Student will provide technical coordination and support in the operating and capital expense management processes for the department alongside the Engineering Department. This position reports directly to the senior member of the engineering team for assignments. The incumbent will take part in project evaluation, technical studies, oversight, and contribution to assigned responsibilities and entering project information in EPM and MS project software.

BASIC FUNCTION:

NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports directly to the Director of Accounting Operations along with the Payroll Manager, Assistant Controller, Canadian Controller, and AP supervisor.

The qualifications for this position at least seven years of progressive accounting responsibilities in a multi-divisional manufacturing organization preferably in a corporate environment; proven experience in managing accounting functions; excellent communication skills; proficient in personal computer software and accounting systems. Must posses a Bachelors or Masters Degree with major in accounting. A CPA license is preferred
- The Accounting Manager manages the monthly financial close process, extensively coordinates with all division controllers, information systems, tax personnel, payroll, sales, and credit/AR to effectively and efficiently close the financial systems and produce financial statements of 6 companies. This position also controls the Lawson General Ledger, Activity Management, Asset Management, Accounts Payable systems and sub-system interfaces including company structure, account maintenance, report design and maintenance. Also, controls the SAP Payroll system.
- This position also is responsible for departmental results to see that all phases are within acceptable standards. In this capacity, this position is responsible for analyzing departmental costs, financial and operating reports; develop practices and procedures to insure optimum efficiency at the lowest costs; take prompt corrective action as necessary; make inquiries and investigations into areas that appear to be outside acceptable standards or where financial or management accounting questions arise.
- The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Company’s balance sheet accounts through review and audit of general ledger account balances, account activity, and account reconciliations. This position is also responsible for oversight of Corporate accounting policies and adherence to the policies throughout the operations. The manager also ensures the integrity of the accounts through thorough review of the performance of the company’s internal controls and completion of SOX requirements.
- Work with the Director of Accounting Operations to prepare annual business plans, annual operating budget, quarterly forecasts, requests for capital expenditure and for major repair or maintenance work. Give guidance and instructions to operating management on such data preparation. Determine if resources are adequate to meet proposed business plan. Make effective recommendations on facilities and services, including expansion or contraction of operations.

Review the practices and procedures of subordinates administering personnel policies. Has overall responsibility for maintaining safe working conditions. - Requires close attention and care in observing operations and in guiding or turning material to facilitate straightening, transfer stacking, or tying of products.
- Requires care in making tying or strapping machine adjustments and in providing quick response to alleviate material jams and equipment malfunctions.
- Will involve operating tying/ strapping, bundle discharge, straightener entry machines and to secure bundles for storage or transfer. Stock and feed machines with wire.
- Will activate machines for spacing and placement of binding material and to secure bundles for storage or transfer.
- Will observe material in process for obvious product blemishes, flaws, or short pieces.
- Will operate radio pendant overhead crane and forklift to assist in material movement or housekeeping activities.
- During periods of continuous operation, perform troubleshooting activities associated with equipment failure of banding and tying machines and perform necessary routine or minor maintenance repairs within the scope of technical knowledge; also conduct daily maintenance inspection checks on banding and tying machines and perform preventive maintenance activities; coordinate the reloading of strapping and wiring material.
- Perform other auxiliary duties to include staging parts and equipment such as straightener rolls, guides, etc., for changeovers and assisting finishing crew in completing changeover activities.
- Assist maintenance personnel and operators in other preventive and breakdown maintenance, removing and cutting cobbles.
- Prepare and attach identification tags, tie off heat and lot run ends, and occasionally count bundle pieces.

- Collect and review for accuracy previous shifts’ production report; calculate tonnage produced and forward copies and original to appropriate personnel or departments.
- Using hand tools and pry bars, remove bent, damaged, and shortened pieces from machines, conveyor system, transfer tables/ beds, and finished bundles.
- Manually stack and band products as directed.
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, and/ or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion. Follow all safety regulations and practices.

The Division Accounting Manager is responsible for leading accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance activities across the U.S. Special Steel Division.

About the Role

NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Quality Assurance Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring production adherence to customer’s’ specifications and/or accepted standards. Reporting to the incumbent will be Routine Facilitators, Improvement Facilitators, Product Metallurgists, Lab Technicians, Schedulers and Billet Yard Personnel, depending on mill requirements. The incumbent should have in- depth knowledge of testing techniques and analytical procedures related to product quality, metallurgical requirements and standards for steel products. The incumbent should be familiar with chemical, mechanical and metallurgical analysis and respective testing equipment. Reporting to the Recycling Location Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating the movement of scrap throughout the facility and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the Recycling Yard Operations.
Duties:
The successful candidate's primary responsibilities include the following:
- Ensure proper placement, tracking and inventory control of all incoming and outgoing scrap materials
- Supervise scrap yard personnel to ensure the safe, efficient and compliant handling of all scrap materials entering and exiting the Yard
- Diagnose equipment breakdowns and implement appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Ensure proper operation and optimal utilization of equipment to prevent damage and reduce repair costs

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.

- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a complex range and wide variety of duties on diversified and complex work, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and maintenance.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for developing, refining, and communicating the strategies and engineering information needed to optimize productivity and capital projects while ensuring the efficient and cost effective production of the final product. The Engineer IV shall prepare and/or review all data sheets, diagrams, and flow charts needed for the correct and efficient development of project, capital, and expense plans in order to develop and run capital projects. This will include the need to work in close cooperation with department supervisors and appropriate engineering, maintenance, and operations team members to ensure correct and proper selection, installation, and operation of all related equipment to obtain the desired production, safety, and quality levels as needed. The Engineer IV is responsible for developing engineering information to facilitate departmental requests and needs for cost justification.
Qualifications for this position include a four year college degree in Engineering or Material Science combined with up to 8 to 10 years of industrial experience. The incumbent should be a specialist in at least 1 engineering field as well as have extensive training and experience in project management or construction. Successful candidate must be able to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of CAPEX, independently assess bids for both installation and equipment, and maximize the efficiency of the overall department operations.

This position’s primary responsibility is to provide leadership to the procurement team supporting one of Gerdau North America’s business units (GLN Operations). NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to either the Regional Procurement Manager or to the Director of Procurement with dotted-line responsibility to the relevant Business Division leadership. The Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing goods and materials in a timely, economical, and efficient manner. The Procurement Manager is responsible for the maintenance and execution of the Procurement process to meet commercial, operating, and cost requirements. The incumbent will participate in the development of tactical plans for procurement in direct support of the business unit(s) they support. This involves establishing and maintaining effective relations with the supplier base and the active execution and implementation of national, regional, and local supply contracts. This position oversees and manages the acquisition of materials, services, and equipment within the region, adhering to company standards and established commodity strategies, while ensuring the lowest total cost, desired quality, and required delivery terms.
Qualifications for this position include a four-year degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or related field. Five (5) years of related procurement experience including a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role is required. NATURE AND SCOPE:
Primary responsibility: Lead and/or contribute (to) successful execution of improvement projects and successful implementation/execution/sustainability of best EAF based steelmaking practices within the high-end SBQ (Special Bar Quality) context.
The Process Manager – SBQ Steelmaking is responsible for ensuring the stability, quality, and efficiency of processes, from melting through continuous casting.
Leading the reduction of operational variability, continuous improvement, and process stability, in alignment with Operational Excellence principles. Is responsible for the technical interface between Production, Quality, and Maintenance and for the technical development of teams, aiming to achieve the best results in cost, operational performance, and quality.
This position reports directly to the Melt Shop Superintendent.
MAIN AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
1. Scrap Yard (SY): Provide technical support for and ensure proper execution on scrap mix optimization practices with the objective of minimizing total bloom cost.
2. Electric Arc Furnace (EAF): Provide technical support on EAF melting and refining practices aiming at consistent liquid steel delivery to the TLF (Twin Ladle Furnace) and reduction of EAF tap-to-tap time.
3. Twin Ladle Furnace (TLF): Provide technical support on implementation, execution, and sustainability of best secondary metallurgy practices within the high-end SBQ context. Minimization of TLF processing cycle times and release steel temperature optimization are current main challenges in the TLF area.
4. Vacuum Tank Degasser (VTD): Provide technical support on implementation, execution, and sustainability of best degassing practices within the high-end SBQ context. Release steel temperatures and Melt Shop production flow are the current main challenges in the VTD area.
5. Continuous Caster (CC): Provide technical support on implementation, execution, and sustainability of best bloom continuous casting practices within the high-end SBQ context. Caster utilization maximization and ladle non-free opens are the main current challenges in the CC area.

This position directly reports to the Melt Shop Superintendent.The incumbent must perform the above mentioned duties and responsibilities in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations. Employees must also report any situation that may have a detrimental impact to human health or the environment to their immediate supervisor.
BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for providing leadership guidance on establishing a productive, high performing, and safety conscious working environment. The major role of this job is to focus on all aspects related to safety, environmental, production, cost, quality, and people management through the continuous application of GBS principles for the Melt Shop Department.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The major role of this job is to ensure routine management efforts are followed and opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production within the area of responsibility are identified. The General Turn Facilitator is responsible for ensuring standardization of processes within the area of responsibility. These duties will include needs assessments, auditing, coaching of production/quality improvement programs and standards, ITS training, 5S improvements, development and implementation of cost and environmental control goals, development and implementation of new and current preventive maintenance and safety management processes and procedures.
Qualifications for this position include a two year college degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Material Science combined with 4 to 6 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality methods. In lieu of a degree, additional years experience in manufacturing can be considered. Incumbent must have a working knowledge of the steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment. Previous qualifying experience in Melt Shop operations a must. Successful candidate will demonstrate a basic knowledge of the business system and the use of complex technical and engineering processes. Requires the ability to train and guide people. The incumbent should possess solid presentation abilities combined with good interpersonal and organizational skills. People management skills a must.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic controls and systems, using required knowledge and understanding of mechanical, fluidic, and electrical systems/components, as well as how they operate.
- Perform rounds and check machinery to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.
- Exercise judgement when troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and all high-voltage systems at or below 480 volts.
- Inspect and perform daily maintenance on all shop machinery, mobile equipment, PLC networks, and cranes, and repairs or replaces worn items as required.
- Service the electrical aspect of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems as needed.
- Lay out, install, and maintain a variety of complete electronically-controlled equipment, such as rolling mill loop controls, secondary distribution centers, programmable sequences, and pulpit control panel.
- Balance loads and wire complex circuits.
- Work with related diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeter, paper recorder, multi-volt meter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment.
- Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints at an intermediate level.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of Ramsey Electrical exam.
- 3–5 years of heavy industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of AC/DC motor theory, PLC troubleshooting, and high-voltage systems.
- Ability to read schematics and use electrical maintenance tools.
- Ability to work Dupont 4/3 schedule with 12hr rotating shifts: days, nights, and two consecutive weekends. Out of 28 days will work only 14 days providing work life balance.

The Market Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for analysis, recommendations, development and deployment of action plans and process improvements with little need of validation by the Pricing and Market Intelligence Manager. This role is accountable for data stewardship (automation and processes), Power BI (development and routine reporting), regression/statistical modeling and predictive capabilities (development and routine analysis) and work as lead coordinating projects. The Market Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for creating actionable insights, collaboration, predictive analysis, machine learning, data scrapping and recommending specific actions to drive business objectives.
The Market Intelligence Analyst must work to develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to continually capture new market insights and to share them within the organization.

CDL A Driver
You have:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Must have a current/valid Class A CDL; Tanker and HazMat endorsement(s) is plus.
- Must have at least 9 months of experience with large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles.
- Smartphone/web experience required to utilize GPS.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office and internet-based applications. SAP experience is helpful.

Your Work:
- Operate standard factory-equipped diesel straight truck and tractor with roll-off trailers, dump trailers and van trailers to pick-up a variety of steel products and accessory items from Gerdau steel suppliers.
- Follow standard or prescribed methods or procedures. Work involves a complete range of duties, somewhat repetitive and routine in nature, requiring considerable care to drive tractor/trailer vehicle in a correct and safe manner, properly loading of trucks, and compliance with all DOT laws, rules, and regulations.
- Good working conditions in closed truck cab free from weather elements except in occasional unloading. Subject to some noise, vibration, and fumes, but none to the extent of being disagreeable.
- Make deliveries and/or pick-ups, operating from verbal, written or electronic instructions, invoices, bills of lading, shipping tickets, etc.
- Keep accurate and legible records such as Driver’s Trip Reports, Driver’s Daily Log, Vehicle Inspection Report, and Driver’s Weekly Expense Report.
- Maintain polite, courteous, and diplomatic relations with either customers, receivers, or suppliers with whom contact is made. May be required to contact the supplier for location/placement of roll-off bin.
- Assist loading or unloading; unload without help as necessary; tie down the load with chains or cinches; attach markers for overhang.
- Light physical effort consisting of continuous light exertion in driving, frequent effort in tying down the loads, and assisting unloading.
- Continuous mental and visual attention in coordinating a good degree of manual dexterity with close visual attention for sustained periods.
- Clean vehicle on a regular basis.
