Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of experience in rail logistics, transportation management, or fleet operations, with a strong
understanding of North American rail systems. - Expertise in using software platforms for data analysis, reporting, and fleet management (experience with ERP or TMS systems preferred).
- Proven ability to manage railcar maintenance, repairs, and service contracts.

Your Role:
You will use your proactive skills to manage the strategy, performance, and utilization of our railcar fleet across North America. You will ensure seamless rail operations by collaborating with cross-functional teams, third-party partners, and rail service providers. You will use your strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement approach to drive efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Your Responsibilities:
Railcar Utilization, Supply & Planning
· Lead the efficient allocation, tracking, and utilization of railcars across U.S. and Canadian facilities.
· Manage the full supply of railcars needed for logistics, coordinating with railroads for railcar supply and working with customers to ensure private cars are returned promptly.
Collaborate closely with the Commercial team to ensure railcar availability aligns with customer demand and delivery schedules.
· Railcar Leasing, Maintenance & Repair Management.
· Negotiate and manage leasing contracts for private railcars, including conducting fleet studies and forecasting to determine the optimal number of cars required.
· Create and process payments for leasing companies, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
· Maintain up-to-date records and ensure the leasing accounts remain in good standing with leasing companies, minimizing delays or disruptions.
· Oversee all maintenance and repair activities for private and non-private railcars, ensuring timely execution, proper documentation, and cost control.
· Track repair costs and downtime trends to support continuous improvement and fleet planning.
Transloader Account Management
· Manage all transloader accounts, including onboarding new partners, overseeing performance, capacity, and day-to-day service quality.
· Evaluate and assist on the negotiation of transloading rates, ensuring value and alignment with service expectations.
· Process and manage all invoices from transloaders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed terms.
· Lead the rollout and adoption of a third-party TMS platform among transloaders to enable better inventory management and shipment visibility.
· Act as the central point of contact between transloaders and internal teams including Logistics, Commercial, and Credit.
Data Analysis & Reporting
· Use internal systems to monitor railcar utilization, transit performance, and key metrics such as turnaround time, dwell time, and service exceptions.
· Build and distribute customized reports that offer transparency into fleet operations, carrier performance, and cost efficiency.

You Have:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not necessary.
- Successful completion of electrical entrance exam.
- 3 to 5 years of heavy industrial electrical maintenance experience including routine maintenance.

- Service the electrical aspect of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems as needed.
- Lay out, install, and maintain a variety of complete electronically controlled equipment, such as rolling mill loop controls, secondary distribution centers, programmable sequences, and pulpit control panel.
- Balance loads and wire complex circuits.
- Work with related diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeter, paper recorder, multi-voltmeter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment.
- Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints at an intermediate level.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed.

BASIC FUNCTION (Primary Purpose):
This jobs primary function is to build relationships with customers and help support the sale of Gerdau product(s) to our customers (i.e., revenue generation)
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- 70% Establish rapport, trust and strong relationships with customers via face to face meetings (in person); representing Gerdau as a company and understanding their business needs and how Gerdau can help meet those needs with our products and offerings. This includes calling on the current book of business with B, C, D customers (limited interactions with A level customers) and also looking with in the territory for brand new customer opportunities (networking, face to face visits, trade shows, current customers, etc.). Routinely need to create or review market analysis data to support growth in his/her territory, but should not be the main focus of the job. As an estimate, this position will spend no more than 30% of time looking at new customers and the remainder on existing customers.
- 15% Establish the forecast for 2-3 months out based on customers’ needs for tons (use both volume and price)
- 5% Decision and analysis on pricing with customers in terms of what type of discount or rebate they are able to offer depending on size of customers, strategic impact and volume of the order.
- 10% Collaborate with the Inside Sales, Customer Service, Fulfillment and Marketing groups to ensure customers are sending in orders and accepting orders when they come in.
Scope (brief description):
This position will be responsible for sales and volume within a specific territory and for a specific product line(s). This position will have established sales goals/quotas (volume, forecast accuracy, price) to attain within his/her territory. The approximate size/volume of territory is up to 10,000 tons per month. Your Purpose:
Working conjointly with the Central Maintenance Routine Facilitator you will drive continuous improvement and establish a safety focused, quality driven, results oriented work environment. Job Description
Perform in both a quality assurance and EMT role within the plant. Quality assurance functions include performing the chemical analysis of heat samples and physical testing of various steel mill rolled products. Maintain and operate spectrograph and related equipment to access chemical composition of heats. Maintain and operate tensile test machine and bending test apparatus to check conformity of rolled products to specification physical requirements. Responsible for grade and size tractability throughout production process. Record, verify and submit test results to supervisor. EMT functions include responding to employee requests/need for first aid treatment, assessing the need and providing appropriate care within limits of approved & established practices. Maintain first aid log, report all treatment administered, accompany employee as needed when seeking further medical attention. Participate in continued education to maintain EMT license.
MUST CURRENTLY POSSESS AND MAINTAIN AN UP-TO-DATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN LICENSE THROUGH THE STATE OF TENNESSEE.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform spectrographic analysis of heat samples obtained from steelmaking areas. Check samples, record results and maintain records for review.
- Test, monitor & inspect steel & other products.
- Perform physical testing of finished steel products, conduct tensile test, measure elongation, calculate weight percent and strength levels.
- Administer first aid treatments, dressings, and medications within the qualifications of an Emergency Medical Technician and within the limits of establish and approved practice of the Tennessee Department of Health EMS division. Transport injured employees to hospital as required.
- Maintain annual EMT licenses as required through company policies and procedures.
- Provide input to supervisors for accident investigations and reports.
- Maintain first aid log and stock of approved medications, devises, supplies, and initiate requisitions for approved items as necessary.

Your Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in Engineering or Business Administration

Your Purpose:

This position directly reports to the Melt Shop Superintendent. As the Refractory Routine Facilitator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our refractory production department. Job Summary:
This position monitors and assists in controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles, shipments and containers through use scale and software systems. All activity must be accounted for and accurately documented on scale tickets, bills of lading, purchase orders and packing slips, etc.
Nature and Scope:
Directly reporting to the Division Manager, the Scale Operator must regularly communicate with dispatch personnel and other scale operators to assist with company vehicle traffic and all incoming and outgoing yard traffic. This position interacts frequently with yard operations including but not limited to emergency contact for yard operations, material receiving personnel, internal and external drivers as well as management, sales and I.T. personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Enthusiastic greeting of customers and ascertain material grade including all necessary paperwork needed to safely direct all incoming loads to the proper locations throughout the facility.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. Record supplier, truck or car identification, contract number (if appropriate), description and grade of material, gross, tare and net weights, and discharge location of the load. This includes accurate recording of load deductions (non-conforming material), re-pricing as directed by Buyers, printing and distributing scale tickets as required.
- Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
- Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
- Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
- Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
- Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
- Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.
- Constantly maintain radio contact with the appropriate yard personnel including and being aware of Emergency calls and proper handling of different types of situations.
- Maintain and implement safe work procedures while ensuring all guests have been informed of and adhere to proper PPE requirements.

Job Summary:
Plan, lay out, and perform all operations required to install, troubleshoot, repair, construct, modify, calibrate, test, service, and program highly complex equipment in support of steel production operation and related plant facilities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic controls and systems, using required knowledge and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fluidic, and electrical systems/components, as well as how they operate.
- Perform rounds and check machinery to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.

Your Purpose:

Your Work:
- Operate a forklift to transfer finished products from the production line and secure with steel banding or shrink-wrap material to palletize product for shipment.

- Disengage rail car mover lever to position boxcar or gondola into the loading position.
- Prepare a rail car or other specified vehicles to receive the product for shipment. Attach steel strapping material to boxcar interior walls in accordance with standard operating procedures and methods. Ship product palletized or loose as per customer order.

- Operate a forklift or pendant crane to unload incoming steel and machine shop supplies, pallets, empty kegs, and steel banding strips. Place supply items at the proper storage locations. Distribute pallets to the production line staging area.
- Check and verify steel heat and bundle numbers, weight, and carbon content as indicated on the shipping invoice; check off an item or indicate shortages and forward to office personnel for processing.
- Operate forklift to empty scrap buckets and return to the production line.
- As directed, assist on the production line as a relief person.

Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.

Locations with Rail:

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Treasury Operations Manager’s primary responsibility is to assist the Director of Finance and senior leadership on managing the Company’s treasury operations and property and casualty insurance programs. Below is further detail on these areas.

Qualifications for this position must include a Bachelor’s degree in a related area such as business, finance or accounting. Requires a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant work experience with advanced analytical, communication, and supervisory skills. A master’s degree is strongly preferred and additional years in education can be substituted for years of work experience (i.e., a master’s degree plus 5 years of relevant work experience). A financial/accounting certification is desirable (CPA, CFA). A high degree of professionalism is required due to confidentiality of data involved.
NATURE & SCOPE:
General – The position reports directly to the Director of Finance. Reporting directly to this position is a Senior Treasury Analyst. This position works in a fast-paced environment and requires a solid foundation in corporate finance and valuation theory as well as a practical and simple approach to implementation of the theory. Job Summary:
This is an entry level position for the Solar Pile fabrication facility. This position is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting of materials to designated locations throughout the Solar Pile Fabrication facility using heavy industrial forklifts or other mobile equipment. Qualifications You Will Need:

- Assembly of straightener rolls/guides, shear blades, and saw blades and inspect for conformance to specifications.
- Rebuild old guides and rolls, first removing slag with scrapers, pry bars, cutting torches, or hammers.

Your Qualifications:

Your Purpose:
You will assist the site Melt Shop Superintendent, Routine Facilitators, Improvement Facilitators, and employees within the areas of responsibility including the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Ladle Metallurgical Furnace (LMF). The major role of this job is to focus on management of daily routines such as 5S, training, standardization, standard audits, analysis of failures, planning of down days, management of consumptions, budgets, and costs. Secondarily, this role will support the Shift Supervisors with the management of their teams (hiring, career progression, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions). You will work in a steel manufacturing operations facilitator capacity with at least 4 direct reports (shift supervisors). This position reports directly to the Melt Shop Superintendent.

JOB TITLE: Dispatcher
Basic Function:
The Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of pick-ups and deliveries for the Gerdau Ameristeel Recycling fleet of twenty-four (24) units and the customers: both divisions and third party.
The incumbent must possess a secondary school diploma, and requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic. Ideally the candidate will have two (2) years experience in the logistics/dispatch related industry.
Problems associated with this position would include truck breakdowns, time management, customer satisfaction, and inadequate housekeeping practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling daily deliveries for the logistics fleet.
- Responsible for scheduling daily pick-up’s for the logistics fleet.
- Responsible for third party delivers and pick-ups.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Primary functions are tax compliance for the Company and its subsidiaries. Primarily responsible for the preparation of all sales and use, property, fuel, intangible federal excise, and occupational tax returns and timely payment of associated taxes. Communicates effectively with taxing authorities to resolve any disputed items. Assists with sales and use, property, and fuel tax audits. Assists in preparation of various tax analysis, general ledger account reconciliation, tax accrual calculations, and other duties as assigned by the State/Local Tax Manager or the Senior Tax Accountant.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Tax Accountant reports directly to the State/Local Tax Manager who reports to the Director of Taxes. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position is responsible for:
- The preparation of the Company’s sales and use tax, real and personal property tax, fuel oil and mileage tax returns.
- State and Local tax compliance by completing and filing all returns, tax research and analysis as necessary to maintain compliance.
- Registration and renewal with state and local entities where the Company has locations, has employees or does business to obtain business licenses, tax identification numbers, etc.
- Filing annual reports as required by various state and local entities where the Company has a business presence.
- Assisting with sales/use tax audits, real/personal property tax audits, etc. and negotiating with taxing authorities on behalf of the Company to minimize assessments and taxes while remaining in compliance with tax regulations.
- Calculating and reconciling to the general ledger, property tax accruals for all Company locations and cost centers and communicating significant changes or variances to division managers and controllers.
- Filing tax refund claims with taxing jurisdictions where the company is due tax credits or tax refunds.
- Reconciling sales and use tax liability general ledger accounts on a regular monthly basis.
- Assisting corporate and division personnel with local tax issues, tax research and recommendations.
- Providing feedback to management on strategies and ideas to minimize taxes and/or reduce expenses while remaining in compliance with all tax laws and regulations.

Job Scope:
This position should have a broad knowledge of tax regulations and procedures plus a general knowledge of accounting and accounting principles. The position requires a four year degree in accounting or related business field, plus 3 to 5 years of hands-on work experience preferably in the manufacturing environment.
This position requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to communicate with taxing authorities and to interface with upper and middle management of the Company.
This position requires proficient computer skills in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Access, Power Point, and especially Excel. This position requires the individual to stay current on tax regulations and laws affecting the Company both at a corporate and division level. The person in this position should use subscription to tax publications, attend tax seminars, etc. to remain current on relevant taxes.
This position may require travel when necessary to visit Company locations, attend meetings or hearings with local taxing authorities, attend training seminars, etc.

BASIC FUNCTION:

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Engineer position will provide technical coordination and support in the operating and capital expense management processes by initiating and running projects using the capital expense (CAPEX) project process, equipment monitoring, stabilization and improvements through;

DIMENSIONS:
This position serves in an advisory capacity for all levels of employees, contractors and plant management; however, this position will not be responsible for supervising direct reports. They may also be required to work with a dedicated team on strategic projects with high complexity and values up to $100,000,000. NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for the planning, budgeting, and execution of CAPEX projects. They shall prepare and/or review all engineering, financial, and operational data needed for the correct and efficient development of capital projects. This will include the need to work in close cooperation with department supervisors and appropriate engineering, maintenance, and operations team members to ensure correct and proper selection, installation, and operation of all related equipment to obtain the desired production, safety, and quality levels as needed. The position may be required to work in a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate, plan, budget, and execute complex capital projects.
Qualifications for this position include a four-year college degree in Engineering combined with up to five (5) to eight (8) years of industrial experience. The incumbent should be a specialist in at least one (1) engineering field. Must be knowledgeable in project management techniques used in the development and execution of capital projects. Successful candidate must be able to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of CAPEX and maximize the efficiency of the overall plant operation.

Your Work:

Work involves a complete range of duties, somewhat repetitive and routine in nature, requiring considerable care to drive tractor/trailer vehicle in a correct and safe manner, properly loading of trucks, and compliance with all DOT laws, rules, and regulations.
- Good working conditions in closed truck cab free from weather elements except in occasional unloading. Subject to some noise, vibration, and fumes, but none to the extent of being disagreeable.

This job is accountable for the mechanical and electrical maintenance of all equipment of an area or department or modification to existing equipment.
The modification coordination will involve maintenance personnel, production personnel, and/or outside contractors. Coordinate meetings as needed with the personnel who have requested or will be affected by the new or modified equipment. Prior to the installation or modification of the equipment, the Lead Maintenance Facilitator will request quotations, develop installation schedules, and assist with fabrication details. Ensure that equipment purchases, or designs being developed in the Maintenance Department, are, durable, economical and easy to fabricate and install. Verify that all environmental and safety requirements have, or will be, met. This job reports to the Department Superintendent. Reporting to the incumbent directly are the Routine and Improvement Facilitators (E & M) and the Maintenance Planner, and indirectly Controls Technicians, Maintenance Turn Facilitators (when applicable), and a crew of approximately sixty (60) hourly maintenance employees.
Working through and with facilitators, the Maintenance Lead Facilitator is responsible for employee training, evaluation, promotion, and discipline; for determining work methods, change over procedures, work schedules and practices.
The incumbent directs OSHA conformance functions to correct unsafe conditions. Cooperates with the Safety Manager in developing and directing programs to create and maintain employee interest and participation toward safety. The incumbent will advise facilitators of the proper interpretation and applications of all company personnel policies toward safety.
The incumbent will develop and coordinate departmental budget for maintenance, including updates of all major Maintenance R&M and Shutdown budgets. Makes recommendations for capital expenditures to provide production with more efficiency, lower costs, higher quality, and quantity production.

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau.
- Participation in daily safety routine.
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

- Assist maintenance personnel in the performance of equipment repairs as required or directed.

The Regional Energy Manager (REM) supplies energy for several mills within a broad geographical region and serves as a resource for plant management for energy forecasts, communication, and collaboration regarding commercial aspects of energy supply. The successful candidate will:
- consult with plant management/users to adequately meet operational needs;
- analyze, develop and implement effective procurement strategies;
- ensure effective implementation of supply arrangements and efficient use of resources;
- identify and pursue improvement opportunities; and
- ensure compliance with established risk management, accounting, and related policies/procedures.
Procurement and Vendor Relations:
The Regional Energy Manager develops and maintains effective business and professional contacts to keep abreast of market conditions, opportunities, and trends while developing supply sources and maintaining favorable vendor relations. In this position, the REM will:
- prepare requests for proposals and contracts;
- create studies of relevant issues and forecasts;
- maintain adequate files and records to compile periodic reports;
- analyze business unit consumption and requirements for energy-related supplies;
- plan purchases to take advantage of emerging market opportunities, meet inventory goals, and anticipate market conditions within established limits of authority;
- obtain competitive bids as required; and
- negotiate major supply arrangements under the general direction of the Director of Energy.
Advocacy:
The Regional Energy Manager serves as the Company’s representative in commercial, regulatory, and governmental activities necessary to protect and further the interests of Gerdau in areas related to energy. In this position, the REM will:
- represent the Company’s interests in local, state/provincial, and national regulatory and legislative arenas;
- work with associations to advocate for improved energy policy for manufacturers;
- work with professionals, consulting resources, and counsel to secure specialized assistance as required, subject to approved budget.

Gerdau is currently seeking a Labourer for the Winnipeg Recycling yard location.
Responsibilities include:
A variety of physical labour tasks and activites at various work stations throughout the worksite which includes working a forklift and skidsteer:
- Primary focus is customer oriented; greeting customers, documenting purchases, determining grades of scrap
- Working with other yard personnel to facilitate accurate stock piling
- Weigh materials and process for sale and shipping
- Safety minded at all tasks

The ideal candidate:
- Will be able to work day shift (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm). Schedule may change.

The Driver is responsible for servicing accounts in a safe, courteous, and timely manner. The Driver is responsible for delivering and depositing containers to the supplier as well as picking up containers when deemed necessary to remove them and take them to the designated location.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing a pre and post inspection of the vehicle each day before operating. (Will teach).
- Responsible for documenting all inspections to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
- Responsible for reporting any and all safety and environmental issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and working in a variety of environments, both internal and external in all types of weather conditions.
- Minor truck maintenance (adding oils, fueling).
- Check containers for damage before delivery and pick-up, report all unsafe items to supervisor immediately.

- Use correct loading and unloading/dumping procedures.
- Clean all debris off of truck bed.
- Ensure the truck is maintained to meet 5S Standard.
- Clean up any spillage before setting container down.

- Attend all meetings required by the Division manager/supervisor.

The Individual:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred but not necessary.
- A minimum of 1 year driving experience is preferred
- Lugger and roll off truck experience for commercial trucks up to GVWR 63,500 KG is preferred but not required.
- Applicant must have a strong work ethic and positive attitude for this FAST-PACED and physically demanding position.
- In order to be considered, you must have a clean driving record. Must possess a CLEAN CVOR Abstract and Driver Abstract. Applicants must submit both their CVOR Abstract and Driver Abstract along with their resume upon applying.

The primary objective of Improvement Facilitator is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility at the Jackson Mill.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities for improvement within his/her area of responsibility and approve standards developed from these efforts
Responsible for developing and implementing activities that support the annual action plan specifically as they relate to improvement projects
Design or develop new or alterations to existing structures, systems, and equipment
Provide timely and accurate cost estimates on proposed improvement efforts
Support and participate in CAPEX projects
Develop and coach employees capabilities and knowledge in the application of QIS methodology and participate as required in QIS events
Participate and contribute to the achievement of department goals including goal setting
Serve as a resource to facilitate the vertical and horizontal help chain
Responsible for data entry into GMR and/or other systems utilized for tracking goals and projects
Assist with safety related activities within the area
The Individual:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum 4-6 years of practical training pertaining to scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, and/or shipping/warehouse operations, and to include some supervisory and facilitation experience.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the business system and of steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service

Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly
- General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability
