Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for maintaining and stocking consumables for the Furnace or Caster, general housekeeping duties (includes 5S and cleaning), assisting other furnace operators as needed and may be responsible for collecting and running slag samples.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unload trucks and stock supplies and/or consumables.
- Operate/stock temperature and sampling device used to take temperatures, oxygen readings and steel samples.
- May also take care of slag pots/pits as needed (i.e clean out pits with shovels, water, et).
- Assist in maintaining refractory (patching or gunning).
- Maintain runner/tap hole.
- Build and add electrodes.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and maintain records and inspection on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.

- Operate mobile equipment (may include overhead cranes) to transfer product and materials, while following all safety rules and regulations.

Education/Experience:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Night shift position - 7pm - 7am (3 days on, 3 days off)
- Work involves routine tasks requiring the safe operation of forge equipment, forge checks at routine intervals, and routine quality checks to ensure finish products meet customer specifications.
- Performs forge start-up and shutdown procedures, which includes knowing the functions of lights and switches on forge control panel and platforms.
- Starts and adjusts vary-freq drives.
- Resets forge electrical breakers, oil system breaker, unscrambler breaker, and rounder breaker.
- Starts up all conveyors using proper start-up procedures.
- Resets AJAX cabinet breaker and replaces and aligns coils.

- Performs process monitoring, measurement, and required adjustment to ensure production of quality products.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Integral member of the team responsible for the accounting functions at the Whitby & Cambridge Mills as well as the Whitby Shredder including financial reporting, forecasting, inventories, cost variance analysis, government reporting, and other financial responsibilities as may be assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position, based out of our Whitby Mill, is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate accounting transactions, records and reports necessary to substantiate the financial performance of the operation. The incumbent also assists the Controller in performing routine analysis of spending to assist in identification of areas of opportunity.
The incumbent should possess a broad background in accounting and cost analysis as may be demonstrated by one with three to five years of previous qualifying experience in jobs involving accounting practices, inventory control, and cost analysis. Previous manufacturing experience is desirable.
The Senior (frequently referred to as “Mill”) Accountant is responsible for the accounting function to include inventories andinventory control, Government reporting, production records review as well as SOX compliance activities and self-assessments.
There are several challenges for the position including maintaining accurate records (production, purchasing, material),providing cost benefit analysis for operating management decisions and analyzing cost records to recommend changes toimprove profitability.
The position is responsible for the effective and accurate collection, compilation and issue of performance reports for plantoperations involving production data. Other responsibilities include trending and analyzing for cost control applications andassisting Controller in preparation of periodic reports and annual operating budgets.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting transactions, records and reports in close coordination and cooperation with Controller.
- Assist Controller in preparing and analyzing monthly financial forecasts. Collaborate with department to gather inputs and ensure forecasts can well predict monthly financial performance. Prepare variance analysis providing insight into discrepancies.
- Maintain fixed asset records. Track and account for capital projects, assure accurate reporting and classification, preparecomparison to capital budget, analyze cost overruns, etc.
- Maintain inventory records to assure accurate recording of production, production costs, shipments and cost of sales. Responsible for monitoring cycle count adjustments in accounting records and reconciling detail inventory records withgeneral ledger. Coordinates physical inventories with corporate accounting and outside auditors.
- Maintain operating statistics – production rates, yields, costs/ton, usage, man-hours, etc. and analysis of trends.
- Assist Controller in preparing division’s annual business plan and budgets, provide monthly reporting of actual to plan todivision management.
- Responsible for several phases of monthly closing process.
- Cost reporting/cost analysis – assists Controller in preparing monthly reporting to division management on production andprocess costs. Works with division management team (General Manager, Superintendents, etc.) in cost analysis, what-ifanalysis, etc. to analyze and reduce production costs.
- Under Corporate and Controller’s guidance, review/audit division data recording and tracking systems and processes toassure procedures are in place and followed; information is captured accurately and timely.
- Prepare quarterly financial records and reports for Government grant reporting. Primary contact for Government inquiries andexternal audit.

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly

- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability

The Driver is responsible for servicing accounts in a safe, courteous, and timely manner. The Driver is responsible for delivering and depositing containers to the supplier as well as picking up containers when deemed necessary to remove them and take them to the designated location.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing a pre and post inspection of the vehicle each day before operating. (Will teach).
- Responsible for documenting all inspections to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
- Responsible for reporting any and all safety and environmental issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and working in a variety of environments, both internal and external in all types of weather conditions.
- Minor truck maintenance (adding oils, fueling).
- Check containers for damage before delivery and pick-up, report all unsafe items to supervisor immediately.

- Use correct loading and unloading/dumping procedures.

The Individual:

- Lugger and roll off truck experience for commercial trucks up to GVWR 63,500 KG is preferred but not required.
- Applicant must have a strong work ethic and positive attitude for this FAST-PACED and physically demanding position.
- In order to be considered, you must have a clean driving record. Must possess a CLEAN CVOR Abstract and Driver Abstract. Applicants must submit both their CVOR Abstract and Driver Abstract along with their resume upon applying.

Nature and Scope:

Principal Accountabilities:

Your Purpose:
You will be responsible for the planning, setting-up, and performing the routine duties and operators necessary to cast molten steel through a continuous casting machine process. Follow prescribed methods, procedures, and operation sequence.
Your Work:
- Visually monitor computers screens in pulpit to operate the run-out equipment and cut billets to the specified length.
- Perform billet inspection, monitor billet weights/lengths and adjust as necessary.
- Assists maintenance on down days.
- Periodically use hand torches to cut billets to length.
- Periodically use torch to cut a sample of a billet for purposes of ensuring quality.
- Removes slag from under the torch pit and run out pit using rakes, shovels, water hoses, and/or mobile equipment.
- Maintains heat separation by marking billets with heat numbers and taking separation samples.

- Transport and transfer of billets to be charged in rolling mill.
- Stock consumables, tools in area according to 5S principles.

Job Description:
This position will collaborate with Supervisors, Engineers, Planners, Trades and Operators in ensuring plant equipment delays and costs are minimized. The major role of this job is to focus on the integration, execution, and continuous improvement of Reliability Practices. This includes improving preventive maintenance plans, spare parts management, failure treatment, and the planning/scheduling/execution of equipment repairs during operation stoppages such as down-days and extended outages.
Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions that facilitate continuous improvement through new designs and innovative approaches to the reliability and maintenance processes.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to solve problems and provide recommendations for equipment modifications, renovations, installations, additions, and replacements.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering for equipment upgrades and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX).
- Identify and solve chronic equipment failures.
- Establish work procedures for corrective and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
- Supervise maintenance trades and contractors during down-days and outages for equipment repair and onsite activities.
- Monitor on-time completion of Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive (PdM) work orders within specifications.
- Manage and prioritize Mechanical Maintenance Work Order backlog in CMMS (SAP).
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Technologist OR Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Certified Millwright with experience in an industrial setting.
- Previous supervisory or lead hand experience preferred.
- Proven experience in data analysis and process improvement project leadership.
- Strong time management skills and ability to adjust to shifting priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work the weekends and on-call as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities for improvement within his/her area of responsibility and approve standards developed from these efforts

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for developing, refining, and communicating the strategies and operating information needed to optimize productivity while ensuring the efficient and cost effective production of final products which meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. The Process Metallurgist I may prepare and/or review data sheets, diagrams, and flow charts needed for the correct and efficient operation of equipment. This will include the need to collect, interpret and extrapolate data from the production process in order to monitor current performance against established practices and make recommendations on how to improve efficiencies for the future. The incumbent must work in close cooperation with department supervisors and appropriate maintenance and operations personnel to ensure correct and proper operation of all related equipment to obtain the desired production, safety, and quality levels as needed.
Qualifications for this position include a four year college degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science combined with 3 to 5 years of industrial experience, with direct experience with multiple strategic process improvement projects. The incumbent should have a broad technical knowledge of metallurgy and an understanding of steel manufacturing techniques used in the melting, refining, and casting of molten steel, in addition to modern rolling practices. This also includes a good understanding of structural, bar and merchant products along with their typical applications in industry. The successful candidate must be able to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of production and maximize the efficiency of the overall department operations.
This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. The incumbent must possess good communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, be detail oriented, and be comfortable dealing with associates at all levels within the organization, as well as associates from customers, suppliers and technical associations.
The Process Metallurgist I will assist in the preparation and completion of corrective actions and failure analyses both within and external to the facility. This will require the candidate to understand and apply laboratory techniques used for this purpose. Occasional travel to customer sites, industry association meetings, and other Gerdau facilities will be required.

Job Summary:
Performs a variety of repetitive material handling duties necessary to receive and store raw materials, and package, store, load, and ship finished products to customers, which requires a basic understanding of the warehouse, shipping, and production areas. Operates forklift, overhead crane, and railcar puller to facilitate the efficient transfer of materials and products to and from production lines, warehouse areas, shipping areas, trucks, and railcars. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Metals Recycling Supervisor Guelph
Job Summary
:
Oversee the activities of the Recycling yard personnel and coordinate multiple tasks for the purpose of collecting & sorting scrap into various grades, and coordinating with Sales & Purchasing the transfer of sorted material to customers (internal & external). The basic function of this position is to ensure that operating personnel perform their duties in order to fulfill the requirements of their job duties pertaining to the Recycling yard operations in a safe and timely manner.
Nature and Scope
:
This position reports to the Division Manager, and is responsible for overseeing the activities of movement of scrap through out the operation, as well as training, testing and auditing of the Recycling Yard Operators. The Supervisor will assist in the development of standard operating procedures used by Recycling personnel to fulfill their position duties. The majority of the standards developed will be safely moving traffic and products throughout the Yard. The Recycling Yard Supervisor will work with a variety of outside sources and must be able to interact with other Recycling Yard location personnel, Regional Managers, Customers and Scrap Suppliers. The incumbent should have a working knowledge of scrap and metal grades and must know the different types of steel scrap that is charged into the furnace and the quality requirements in order to make quality finished products. The Recycling Supervisor will be responsible to ensure the proper recording of weight of incoming scrap and outgoing finished product to ensure proper acknowledgement of receivables as well as shipments for proper payment.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Supervise scrap yard personnel for the proper placement of scrap cars and trucks within the Yard safely.
- Responsible for the organization of incoming and outgoing scrap.
- Responsible for the diagnosis and subsequent solution of equipment breakdown problems.
- Responsible for proper operation and utilization of equipment to prevent damage and minimize repair.
- Responsible for initiating, writing, training and auditing personnel on procedures for the Scrap Yard.
- Responsible for the scheduling of personnel, work hours reported by the people, and documentation of any oral or written disciplinary action required.
- Coordinates with Traffic, and Sales & Purchasing Department to coordinate the timely loading/unloading trucks. In addition, duties may include scheduling overtime to work additional hours to unload customers with scrap.
- Responsible for working with the scrap inspector for the proper inspection of incoming scrap by truck. The final decision of either accepting or rejecting incoming scrap will be made.
- Responsible for leading team activities to accomplish improvement goals including facilitating crew meetings.
- Responsible for Departmental housekeeping.
The Individual:
- University Degree plus 2-3 years related work experience or 5-7 years experience in the Scrap Metal industry
- Excellent communication skills are a necessity to interface with customers, scrap suppliers and personnel.
- Working knowledge of scrap and metal grades and must know the different types of steel scrap

Job Summary:
This position is a floater scale op position among the yards and monitors and assists in controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles, shipments and containers through use scale and software systems. Nature and Scope:
Directly reporting to the Division Manager, the Scale Operator must regularly communicate with dispatch personnel and other scale operators to assist with company vehicle traffic and all incoming and outgoing yard traffic. Principal Accountabilities:

- Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions by weighing of all customers vehicles, carriers, and company vehicles on main scale. - Maintain daily records of all purchases and sales transactions including proper assignment of purchase and sales order numbers to inbound and outbound material.
- Process scale payments including processing payment adjustments; contact the Buyer to adjust or add in contracts; remove temporary pricing, address and mail out payments as per customer request, fax scale tickets to customers as per their request.
- Create issue and submit cheques to the proper signing authority with proper back up documentation and distribute as requested.
- Issue cash payments for customers that require immediate payment.
- Must be able to manage difficult customer situations effectively and professionally.
- Answer main telephone line and redirect all calls accordingly.

Your Purpose:
Perform all operations necessary in the preparation and use of slide gates and ladles involved in the Melt Shop functions of tapping, refining, pouring, and casting heats. Coordinate transportation of ladles in and out of the shop to ensure the proper amount is available. Follow prescribed methods, procedures, instructions, and sequence of operations.
Your Work:
- Work involves a complete range of duties that are highly repetitive and routine in nature to properly and effectively set up ladles to efficiently pour molten metal.
- Set up slide gates. Replace ladle nozzles, patch well block, porous plug, slide gate refractories, and stir pipe when necessary.
- Inspect slide gate refractories, mechanical components, and nozzles for defects and wear. Turn, replace, clean, and lubricate the slide gate as required.
- Inspect ladle lining and handling accessories, including ladle preheater. Check porous plugs with gas for flow and wear and make changes or repairs, patch block as needed.
- Inspects hydraulic fittings and hoses and replace them when needed.
- Operate ladle preheaters, check ladle temperatures, and keep ladles properly heated for furnace tapping.
- Direct ladle transfer movement and placement for furnace tapping.
- Add sand mixture to the ladle as needed to ensure the highest percentage possible of free opens.
- Use oxygen lance to melt out skulls from the ladle, clean out ladle nozzle bores and porous lug, and to lance open slide gates as required.
- Perform and document down day activities.
- Operate mobile equipment to lift and transport materials including loaders, makeup cart, brick-lift, and forklifts.
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles/mobile equipment to include fueling, cleaning, checking, and adding fluid as needed.

Job Summary:

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. Your Purpose:

Scale Coordination Job Summary:
Perform a variety of coordinating, checking, verifying, inputting, recording, and filing duties pertaining primarily to the receipt and inspection of scrap coming into the mill by truck. The primary duty of this position is to properly inspect and verify scrap grade and order number. Improper scrap identification or misapplication could result in overpayment per truckload. Act as Scale Coordinator to properly weigh incoming and outgoing that trucks deliver scrap.
- Utilize electronic scale to obtain a gross weight for the load using the weighing system, and coordinate unloading destination with yard personnel.
- Consult with the scrap representatives and the scrap supplier for clarification on scrap grade prices.
- Complete the weighing process to determine traffic and net weight for the load.
- Process loads of scrap moved by weighing the trucks in accordance with standard processing procedures.
- Operates forklift to move scrap metal as needed.
- Processes non-ferrous products and runs alligator shear and balers.
- Provide daily reporting of radiation detection.
- Using established company procedures, visually inspect scrap for grade/quality.
- Notifies supervisor when dirty cars or trucks are identified or cars or trucks that monitoring devices indicate contain explosive or radioactive materials.
- Compile and record information related to scrap inventory.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate plant construction activities as required for installation of new plant equipment or modification to existing equipment. The construction coordination may involve maintenance personnel, production personnel, and/or outside contractors. The Project Engineer will coordinate meetings as needed with the personnel who requested or will be affected by the new or modified equipment. Before the installation or modification of the equipment the Project Engineer may request quotations, develop installation schedules, and assist with fabrication details. This position must also ensure that the maintenance or construction personnel have accurate reference materials to install all equipment conduit, wiring, control desks, MCC’s switch gears, etc. required for a successful electrical outage.
The major challenge of this position is to ensure that equipment purchases and designs are durable, economical, and easy to fabricate and install. Installation or modification of equipment is to be accomplished with the minimum amount of outage duration and be on or below the approved budget.
The Project Engineer job functions may involve high and low-voltage distribution systems and equipment, AC & DC drive systems, instrumentation and control, programmable logic and computer control, and electrical machinery. Within these areas, work may include design specification, purchasing, supervision of construction and installation, commission, and troubleshooting of new or modified equipment.
Assist the Environmental Engineer, Sr. Project Engineer, and or Engineering Manager with miscellaneous environmental and engineering activities.
Some work items may require the services of outside engineering consultants. In this case, this position will be involved in establishing design objectives, prepare engineering bid specifications, and competitively bid the work. After receiving approval to perform the work the engineer will coordinate and monitor activities of the consultant to ensure equipment compatibility with the departments which will operate and maintain the new equipment.
Maintain equipment files and resource materials such as drawings, instruction manuals, test data, design criteria, and specifications. These materials are to be organized to facilitate their use for three key purposes: as a maintenance aid, as a basis for equipment performance evaluation, and as a reference for new design and installation. These resources are to be made available to maintenance personnel to maximize their value in troubleshooting, operations, and preventive maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5-6 years’ experience working in an industrial/manufacturing/construction environment
- Experience with Allen Bradley control systems
- Experience with WonderWare systems preferred
- Experience with industrial automation troubleshooting and repair preferred
- Willingness to travel, including internationally

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly
- General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability

WHAT THE POSITION ENTAILS:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position’s job responsibilities include:
Inspect, install, repair, replace, adjust mechanical equipment in the plant.
Service the mechanical aspects of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Receive instructions, prints, and work orders, covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work.
Find the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
Advise when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage on computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), work orders, logbooks, and checklists.
Perform rounds and checks machinery condition using checklists or digital tools to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.
Responsible for performing assigned maintenance work on large and small producing units.

Your Purpose:
You will be performing a limited variety of highly repetitive duties to load and secure steel rail spike products into railroad gondola cars, boxcars, or truck trailers for shipment to customer location. You will assist in servicing production lines and transfer finished products to temporary storage locations or dock loading platform.
Your Work:
- Operate a forklift to transfer finished products from the production line and secure with steel banding or shrink-wrap material to palletize product for shipment.
- Move palletized material to a temporary storage inspection station or loading dock.
- Disengage rail car mover lever to position boxcar or gondola into the loading position.
- Prepare a rail car or other specified vehicles to receive the product for shipment. Attach steel strapping material to boxcar interior walls in accordance with standard operating procedures and methods. Ship product palletized or loose as per customer order.
- Operate forklift, or handheld, push-button pendant crane, with or without magnet, to load specified product into the proper vehicle.
- Operate a forklift or pendant crane to unload incoming steel and machine shop supplies, pallets, empty kegs, and steel banding strips. Place supply items at the proper storage locations. Distribute pallets to the production line staging area.
- Check and verify steel heat and bundle numbers, weight, and carbon content as indicated on the shipping invoice; check off an item or indicate shortages and forward to office personnel for processing.
- Operate forklift to empty scrap buckets and return to the production line.
- As directed, assist on the production line as a relief person.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering
- Material Sciences / Metallurgy
- Or other applicable degree
- Recent college graduate or planning to graduate in 2025
- Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)
- Preference for those with a degree-related internship experience
- Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
- A high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Central Maintenance General Foreman, the primary focus of this position is to minimizes the impact of shift equipment failures on production processes by supervising the execution of proactive and corrective maintenance activities. This is achieved through the coordination, organization, and direction of activities by the Shift Maintenance Crew consisting of Industrial Electricians, Millwright-Mechanics, and Welder/Fitters. The Maintenance Shift Supervisor will also collaborate with the overall Plant Maintenance team, including day shift Supervisors, Planners, Reliability Engineers, Automation Techs, and Skilled Trades.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:
- Manage shift priorities by evaluating Plant needs and make critical decisions for equipment based on input from trades, operations
- Coordinate Maintenance shift labour during production interruptions or equipment breakdowns
- Assign and oversee proactive shift work including inspections and shop rebuilds
- Assist Maintenance shift labour in diagnosing malfunction in machinery and equipment and actions for resolution
- Conduct daily shift toolbox meetings to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations
- Develop shift maintenance logs or failure analysis reports for equipment delays, parts stock-outs, and all other issues on shift
- Communicate shift details and performance to the maintenance team before, during, and after assigned shifts
- Locate spare parts, drawings, procedures, manuals as required on shift
- Uphold company standards for Safety, Environment, Quality, Policies, Procedures, and Work Orders
- Supervising a maintenance trades crew of 10
Schedule:
12-hour rotating shift
Work Environment:
- Plant environment includes extreme cold and heat
- Frequent demand to stand and walk throughout the Plant
ABOUT YOU:
- Technologist OR Engineering Degree OR Skilled Trades Certificate
- At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience supervising crews
- Willing to work off-shift manufacturing schedule
- Experience with CMMS (SAP, Maximo, etc.) is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong time management skills and ability to adjust to shifting priorities
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Your Purpose:
This position directly reports to the Midlothian Mill Plant Manager. The incumbent will Administer and/or manage Human Resource processes covering several or all of the following areas: employee relations, recruiting, wage and salary administration, training and development, career and succession, performance management, safety, benefits, and employee services for the Midlothian Mill and downstream locations (approximately 1030 employees).
Your Work:
Responsible for all personnel actions regarding direct reports including but not limited to: assigning work duties/responsibilities, performance and salary reviews, disciplinary actions, termination, etc.
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Conduct recruitment effort for open positions and support hiring managers in the selection process (from cultural fit, competency, behavior standpoints). Manage recruitment process by assisting managers to define position requirements and potential sources of applicants.
Serve as liaison on compensation and benefits issues. Responsible for maintaining job descriptions and evaluations on an accurate and current basis; assuring personnel are in proper classification. Ensure uniform interpretation and application of wage and salary policy to provide internally equitable employee compensation. Communicate total compensation opportunity to employees and respond to employee questions related to applicable Compensation plans and programs.
Identify training needs and work with corporate training team to implement programs. Facilitates training sessions locally when applicable.
