Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.

Locations with Rail:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Hourly Rate: $44.72/ hour plus COLA (cost of living allowance). Overtime available.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done
- Inspects equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication
- Finds the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production
- Advises when immediate shut down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporary continued operation would have no harmful effect
- Trouble shoots and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment
- Assembles or aligns gears, bearings and shafts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits
- Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions
- Interprets drawings and sketches
- Dismantles, cleans repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment
- Performs routine layout work, fabrication or repair of steel structures and components
- Selects material in accordance with suitability for job and performs burning and mild steel welding
- Operates simple machine tools such as drill press, pipe threading machine and power saw
- Erects scaffolds and performs rigging as necessary
- Prepares for workorders, records activities in CMMS
Our Successful Candidate will have:
- A Red Seal Certification or Provincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate
- Experience in heavy industry
- Exposure to PM, Hydraulics, VF drives, PLC's, welding, crane work
- Experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work a rotating schedule (continental style schedule) 12 hour shifts as well an 8 hour day shift (Monday - Friday)

Qualifications Required:
- Successful completion of Ramsey mechanical maintenance test.

Job Summary
Gerdau is seeking a safety-focused and motivated Yard Operator to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in daily yard operations by inspecting and grading scrap metal, operating mobile equipment, loading and unloading materials, and supporting overall site efficiency and safety.
The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors, scale operators, coworkers, and customers to ensure materials meet quality standards and shipping requirements. Prior scrap metal experience is an asset, but candidates with a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all Gerdau safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Inspect and grade incoming scrap materials for quality and environmental compliance.

Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Inspects mobile shear, magnet crane, and stationary shear daily and documents on checklists to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.

- Assist with yard housekeeping efforts and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.
- Assist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.

Your Purpose

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and prioritizing electrical maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and availability while supporting safe and efficient steel mill operations. The position works closely with Operations, Mechanical Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and other support functions to identify and resolve equipment issues and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities/Safety Leadership
- Demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
- Ensure all electrical maintenance activities are performed in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead and participate in safety meetings, job safety analyses, and workplace inspections.
- Ensure proper application of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safe work practices, arc flash requirements, and other energy-control procedures.
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and take appropriate corrective action.

- Review equipment failures and recurring problems and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action development.

- Support the development and execution of shutdown, outage, and major maintenance work.
Technical Responsibilities
Provide leadership and technical support for the maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and automation systems, including:
- Medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
- Motors, motor controls, and motor control centers (MCCs).
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs) and DC drives.
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and industrial control systems.

Qualifications
Required:

Job Summary
The Yard Operator plays a key role in supporting daily yard operations and overall operational effectiveness. This position requires a broad skill set and the ability to perform a variety of tasks. The Yard Operator must have knowledge of scrap grading or demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to yard operations.

- Ensure all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation; quarantine any material that fails the scan and notify appropriate personnel immediately.

The Electronic Technician analyzes job requests received from various departments for priority, material requirements and scope of project. BASIC FUNCTION:

NATURE AND SCOPE:
This job reports directly to the Manager, Commodities and Service Corp for the assigned area of responsibility (i.e. Production Materials, MRO, Services, CAPEX or BCC).
Qualifications for this job include a four year degree in Engineering or Business Administration combined with up to 3 years of procurement experience with exposure in a industrial or manufacturing environment. • Procure retail scrap metal in a cost‑effective and efficient manner to support steelmaking operations.
• Ensure scrap purchases meet required volume, quality, and delivery specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyzes all types of circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify or service all types of electrical and electronic devices and systems, to include communication systems, various mill and production equipment, electronic computing and control systems, power and distribution control indicating devices, gauges, instrumentation, etc.
- Plans details of the work procedure to determine material or replacement needs and selects a logical approach to “troubleshooting” and repair problems. Answers trouble calls.

BASIC FUNCTION:
This role will be responsible for establishing a new market for GLN throughout all North America. The role will handle all functions of new business development from creating market strategies and evaluating new opportunities to solicit orders and major quotes responding to, calling and visiting customers, input on production planning, inventory control and pricing in alignment with the Commercial business strategy. NATURE & SCOPE:
This role reports directly to the Director, Strategic Marketing or similar
Establish list of target companies within market segment and respective territory
Contact companies as preliminary research on product requirements
Arrange meetings to visit potential customers
Determine pain points and opportunities for Gerdau to sell current products.
Determine potential business development opportunities and provide Gerdau’s Business Development Group with necessary information
Make sales calls to determine Gerdau’s role in the value chain and to solicit RFQ’s, RFP’s and establish customer rapport
Attend and participate in various rail industry functions and events
Responsible for all products being sold to the North American Railway Industry.
Champion product development pertains to the rail industry with focus on brining profitable products to the market in a timely manner. Furnish internal product development teams with all needed commercial information on customers, products, and market intelligence
Establish shipping forecasts aligned with monthly Demand Planning process.
The tonnage portion of this forecast will be at the individual customer level with adjustments, when necessary, to determine the monthly Constrained Sales Plan (CSP). Monthly (or ad hoc) discussion with customers on upcoming steel needs for next 3 months, or in case of new products 6 months, getting as specific as possible on volume of steel needs. Communication of CSP to customers is required if more/less than original plan.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The incumbent must be able to interact in a professional manner with all levels of customer personnel while promoting and selling Gerdau’s products. Considerable tact and diplomacy are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field from a four-year college/university or equivalent industry experience is required. MBA a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years related work history with significant increased sales volume responsibility and a proven track record combined with some post-secondary education is an asset.
Background or experience in a metrics driven environment is important.
Exposure to rail or steel industry sales preferred.
Computer literate with an understanding of costing and margins. Experience in an ERP computer system environment is an asset.
Thorough knowledge of steel products and their end use; - this would be ideal but can be learned on the job if needed.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Analyze job requests received from various departments for priority, material requirements and scope of project.
- Installation, modification, monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of highly automated industrial control equipment.
- Design, plan, install and maintain a variety of industrial control equipment and instrumentation including: loop controls, variable frequency drives, control panels, load balancing, and complex electrical circuits.

Primary Function

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.

Turning Bay Operator
The Turning Bay Operator is responsible for the safe operation, setup, quality inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Turning Bay equipment while ensuring customer requirements and production standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and monitor all Turning Bay equipment, including the Rattunde, Turner, Polisher, Hex Bundler, Galdabini Bump Straightener, NDT equipment, demag, and transfer car.

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.

Job Summary:
Performs maintenance necessary to keep plant, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition. JOB SUMMARY:
The position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap appropriate for steelmaking. Under the immediate direction of Manager – Raw Materials, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the approved plan to accomplish the objective of minimizing overall of maximizing return for the operations.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap in an economical and efficient manner. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relations with available suppliers including active solicitation of new supply sources, within assigned region. The supplier base will include established accounts, casual peddlers, auto wreckers, and other generators of scrap metal.
This position reports directly to the Regional Raw Materials Manager and has a functional reporting relationship to the local Division Manager. The incumbent will coordinate activities with other personnel, transportation, scrap inspection and accounting personnel.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of 2 -3 year of relevant experience with 1 year experience directly related to buying and selling scrap. In addition, incumbent should possess knowledge of sources and grades of raw materials, along with some knowledge of transportation issues and scrap yard operations.
The incumbent must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate business and must possess strong negotiating, communication, math and problem-solving skills. Candidate must function effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. High ethical standards and a strong work ethic are key attributes. Incumbent will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical and productive relationships with suppliers. This position requires regular weekly travel to complete job duties and maintain an effective network of vendors, mill personnel, and industry organizations.
The incumbent’s primary responsibility is the cost-effective procurement of scrap. The Incumbent must stay abreast of current market trends and be aware of regional scrap markets and competitive situations/practices. Requires utilizing a network of sources to understand market activity and determine the needs of the mill/s supplied. The incumbent will procure scrap based on the specific terms of purchase contracts within established policies and procedures, reviews and/or approves the incoming invoices and document vendor performance. This position also serves as a liaison between Yard personnel and scrap suppliers. This position will provide commercial information used in analyzing inventory requirements
As required, the incumbent will inspect and address scrap quality issues that arise at the Yard site. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms/conditions, and safety and environmental compliance requirements to vendors, shippers, and inspection personnel.
Incumbent must be knowledgeable in the computer systems and procedures used to receive, handle and pay for scrap throughout the Company and assist in resolving any problems that may arise with vendors. Candidate must actively coordinate any such issues with appropriate administrative and accounting personnel.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Recruit new supply sources for scrap in the local regional market.
2. Primarily responsible for the procurement of scrap Metals.
3. Incumbent will maintain effective business relationships with current supplier base and seek out new sources of scrap that will assist in meeting procurement objectives within established policies and procedures.
4. Incumbent will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical and productive relationships with suppliers.
5. Stay abreast of current market trends and competitive situations/practices in order to meet the needs of the operations supplied.
6. Provide information to management and Transportation to help develop cost avoidance and savings opportunities in the purchase, transportation and processing of scrap.
7. Serve as liaison between plant management and scrap suppliers.
8. Review scrap order shipment status weekly and make necessary adjustments to insure timely receipt of goods purchased and proper order application.
9. Within established policies, resolve discrepancies primarily pertaining to grading, weight settlement, order application, and other disputes with vendors and Operations personnel. Issues must be resolved tactfully to maintain sound and effective relationships.
10. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms-and-conditions and safety and environmental compliance requirements to shippers and plant personnel.
11. Candidate must maintain computer literacy in procurement systems, with proficiency in company scrap information systems and other business applications.

Job summary:
Reporting to the location's Supervisor, your focus will be to perform a wide variety of shipping duties and material moving.
Our ideal candidate will be able to:
- Work the following weekend shift with a starting hourly rate of $23.79:
- 13 hour shift: Friday - Sunday
- Days 7:00 am- 8:00 pm (paid 1 hour break which includes coffee breaks too)
- Provide us with a criminal background check by uploading it in "attachment documents" when uploading resume or at time of interview
- Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with extremely hot materials while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklift equipment
- Operate Shunt truck to move trailers indoor and outdoor
- Load trucks as per shipping paperwork
- Load bundles on the truck safely and follow Company's safety rules
- Move scrap, dump scrap bins as needed
- May perform other duties as supervisor deems necessary
Education / experience requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma (or GED)
- Minimum 1-2 years of working experience as a forklift driver and have valid forklift license
- Ability to learn and drive Shunt truck
- Ability to read, write and follow schedules
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Physically capable of performing the role
- Ability to work in a team environment

JOB SUMMARY:
The position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap appropriate for steelmaking. Under the immediate direction of Manager – Raw Materials, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the approved plan to accomplish the objective of minimizing overall of maximizing return for the operations.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap in an economical and efficient manner. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relations with available suppliers including active solicitation of new supply sources, within assigned region. The supplier base will include established accounts, casual peddlers, auto wreckers, and other generators of scrap metal.
This position reports directly to the Regional Raw Materials Manager and has a functional reporting relationship to the local Division Manager. The incumbent will coordinate activities with other personnel, transportation, scrap inspection and accounting personnel.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of 2 -3 year of relevant experience with 1 year experience directly related to buying and selling scrap. In addition, incumbent should possess knowledge of sources and grades of raw materials, along with some knowledge of transportation issues and scrap yard operations.
The incumbent must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate business and must possess strong negotiating, communication, math and problem-solving skills. Candidate must function effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. High ethical standards and a strong work ethic are key attributes. Incumbent will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical and productive relationships with suppliers. This position requires regular weekly travel to complete job duties and maintain an effective network of vendors, mill personnel, and industry organizations.
The incumbent’s primary responsibility is the cost-effective procurement of scrap. The Incumbent must stay abreast of current market trends and be aware of regional scrap markets and competitive situations/practices. Requires utilizing a network of sources to understand market activity and determine the needs of the mill/s supplied. The incumbent will procure scrap based on the specific terms of purchase contracts within established policies and procedures, reviews and/or approves the incoming invoices and document vendor performance. This position also serves as a liaison between Yard personnel and scrap suppliers. This position will provide commercial information used in analyzing inventory requirements
As required, the incumbent will inspect and address scrap quality issues that arise at the Yard site. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms/conditions, and safety and environmental compliance requirements to vendors, shippers, and inspection personnel.
Incumbent must be knowledgeable in the computer systems and procedures used to receive, handle and pay for scrap throughout the Company and assist in resolving any problems that may arise with vendors. Candidate must actively coordinate any such issues with appropriate administrative and accounting personnel.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Recruit new supply sources for scrap in the local regional market.
2. Primarily responsible for the procurement of scrap Metals.
3. Incumbent will maintain effective business relationships with current supplier base and seek out new sources of scrap that will assist in meeting procurement objectives within established policies and procedures.
4. Incumbent will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical and productive relationships with suppliers.
5. Stay abreast of current market trends and competitive situations/practices in order to meet the needs of the operations supplied.
6. Provide information to management and Transportation to help develop cost avoidance and savings opportunities in the purchase, transportation and processing of scrap.
7. Serve as liaison between plant management and scrap suppliers.
8. Review scrap order shipment status weekly and make necessary adjustments to insure timely receipt of goods purchased and proper order application.
9. Within established policies, resolve discrepancies primarily pertaining to grading, weight settlement, order application, and other disputes with vendors and Operations personnel. Issues must be resolved tactfully to maintain sound and effective relationships.
10. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms-and-conditions and safety and environmental compliance requirements to shippers and plant personnel.
11. Candidate must maintain computer literacy in procurement systems, with proficiency in company scrap information systems and other business applications.

Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Inspects mobile shear, magnet crane, and stationary shear daily and documents on checklists to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
- Performs daily preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper working order such as lubrication, greasing, fueling, and keeping cab clean.
- Inspects for proper scrap grade and safety and environmental concerns such as tanks, cylinders, etc. while shearing.
- Shear unprepared material into prepared state identifying size, thickness, and physical dimensions.
- Use magnet crane to load/unload scrap from customer vehicles into appropriate piles or railcars in order to process for shipping.
- Use mobile equipment to lift and move scrap from one area of the yard to another.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with yard housekeeping efforts and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.
- Assist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.
- Problem solving input and contributions as required.
