Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in:

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Central Maintenance General Foreman, the primary focus of this position is to minimizes the impact of shift equipment failures on production processes by supervising the execution of proactive and corrective maintenance activities. This is achieved through the coordination, organization, and direction of activities by the Shift Maintenance Crew consisting of Industrial Electricians, Millwright-Mechanics, and Welder/Fitters. The Maintenance Shift Supervisor will also collaborate with the overall Plant Maintenance team, including day shift Supervisors, Planners, Reliability Engineers, Automation Techs, and Skilled Trades.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:
- Manage shift priorities by evaluating Plant needs and make critical decisions for equipment based on input from trades, operations
- Coordinate Maintenance shift labour during production interruptions or equipment breakdowns
- Assign and oversee proactive shift work including inspections and shop rebuilds
- Assist Maintenance shift labour in diagnosing malfunction in machinery and equipment and actions for resolution
- Conduct daily shift toolbox meetings to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations
- Develop shift maintenance logs or failure analysis reports for equipment delays, parts stock-outs, and all other issues on shift
- Communicate shift details and performance to the maintenance team before, during, and after assigned shifts
- Locate spare parts, drawings, procedures, manuals as required on shift
- Uphold company standards for Safety, Environment, Quality, Policies, Procedures, and Work Orders

Your Purpose:
This position directly reports to the Midlothian Mill Plant Manager. Your Work:

Job Summary:

Your Purpose:
You will be performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks necessary to keep the plant property, equipment, machinery and tools in good operating condition; diagnose problems and work in many varied and diversified capacities required in general maintenance, overhaul, and repair of plant equipment, processes, and facilities. Requires a general knowledge of electronics and electrical systems to include basic electrical repairs as needed or directed. Your Work:

- Implement and maintain the division’s preventive maintenance program with input from plant manager and manufacturer’s recommendations. Train and instruct employees on preventive maintenance activities and procedures. Inspect, adjust, clean, and/or lubricate equipment as normal part of preventive maintenance program.
- Maintain and control plant inventory levels for maintenance parts and supplies. Order parts and supplies in accordance with supervisor approval.
- Train lesser-skilled maintenance personnel on proper work methods and safety procedures when assisting with maintenance activities.
- Maintain plant equipment and maintenance records to meet Gerdau and OSHA’s safety and quality compliance standards.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of plant equipment, machinery or processes and determine corrective action to include seeking vendor assistance.
- Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories. Develop and fabricate accessory fixtures or guards for machines and equipment. Adjust machine mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input or output.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The Raw Materials Purchasing Agent is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap in an economical and efficient manner and establishing and maintaining effective relations with available suppliers including active solicitation of new supply sources, within assigned region. The supplier base will include both established retail processors as well as suppliers whose business is conducted on a direct basis at the retail buying facilities as established at Gerdau mill divisions. This position will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical, and productive relationships with suppliers. It does require travel to complete job duties and maintain an effective network of vendors, mill personnel, and industry organizations.
The Raw Materials Purchasing Agent will coordinate activities with other procurement personnel, transportation, melt shop management, and mill scrap inspection and accounting personnel. This role works closely with transportation to keep them informed of new methods of shipment and carriers that may help minimize overall scrap costs. Another key responsibility will be to provide information to other members of the raw materials procurement team. This will be achieved through soliciting and reviewing competitive alternatives, assess vendor capabilities and past performance, recommend alternative sources for retail scrap, and select suppliers based on information gathered. The incumbent will secure retail scrap based on the specific terms of purchase contracts within established policies and procedures, verify purchase order details, and document vendor performance.
This position also serves as a liaison between mill personnel and scrap suppliers. The incumbent must be familiar with basic melting requirements at the mill in order to know the effect of different grades of scrap, relative to billet chemistry specifications. Raw Materials Purchasing Agent will work closely with vendors, shippers, and inspection personnel to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms/conditions, and safety and environmental compliance requirements . Raw Materials Purchasing Agent will use the computer systems and procedures to receive, handle and pay for scrap throughout the Company and assist in resolving any problems that may arise with vendors.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU NEED?
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience in the buying, melting, or receiving of steel scrap or similar work experience at an exempt level.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate business and possess strong negotiating, communication, math and problem-solving skills.

- Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to perform all kinds of welding, brazing and cutting on any type of metal using gas and electric welding equipment, and to layout, fabricate, assemble, erect and repair structural, plate and pipe work.

Our Ideal Candidate will:
- Receive instructions and drawings regarding shop and fieldwork orders for the job

Plant Operations:
The Regional Energy Manager (REM) supplies energy for several mills within a broad geographical region and serves as a resource for plant management for energy forecasts, communication, and collaboration regarding commercial aspects of energy supply. The successful candidate will:
