Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
- Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
- Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
- Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau.
- Participation in daily safety routine.
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in monthly inventory counts (where applicable)
- Assist maintenance personnel in the performance of equipment repairs as required or directed.
- Operate the Baler Operation.
- Assist in nonferrous processing; including segregation of materials to upgrade products. For example: Copper, Brass, Aluminum, etc.
- Assist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.

BASIC FUNCTION:
To direct, manage, and significantly influence the sale of products within a designated market area with a focus on effective management of a sales team to meet overall sales goals and business strategy. Position Summary
:
This position is responsible for providing effective professional health and safety support to improve the industrial health and safety of all employees. Will assist in the implementation of loss prevention and control efforts for the local Gerdau location. This position is responsible for assisting with loss prevention and control systems, as they relate to health and safety, and providing technical support for improvement efforts. The Safety Specialist will assist management with the development and implementation of a safety management system aimed at preventing and controlling losses. The Safety Specialist reports directly to the Safety Manager. Under general direction, assist with the development, identification, and implementation of management tools to support the safety management system that is congruent with performance expectations. Assist with the implementation of a communication plan for health and safety issues, including all safety training programs at the location. The incumbent will participate in the supporting the Gerdau Business System (GBS) as it relates to health and safety. The primary focus of the position will be to support the implementation and administration of the safety management system. The incumbent actively participates in accident prevention activities to include inspections, observations, and incident investigations. This position acts in an advisory capacity to management and may serve as a liaison with governmental agencies as necessary.

Job Summary:

BASIC FUNCTION:
Primary functions are tax compliance for the Company and its subsidiaries. Primarily responsible for the preparation of all sales and use, property, fuel, intangible federal excise, and occupational tax returns and timely payment of associated taxes. Communicates effectively with taxing authorities to resolve any disputed items. Assists with sales and use, property, and fuel tax audits. Assists in preparation of various tax analysis, general ledger account reconciliation, tax accrual calculations, and other duties as assigned by the State/Local Tax Manager or the Senior Tax Accountant.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Tax Accountant reports directly to the State/Local Tax Manager who reports to the Director of Taxes. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position is responsible for:
- The preparation of the Company’s sales and use tax, real and personal property tax, fuel oil and mileage tax returns.
- State and Local tax compliance by completing and filing all returns, tax research and analysis as necessary to maintain compliance.
- Registration and renewal with state and local entities where the Company has locations, has employees or does business to obtain business licenses, tax identification numbers, etc.
- Filing annual reports as required by various state and local entities where the Company has a business presence.

Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.

Plant Operations:
The Regional Energy Manager (REM) supplies energy for several mills within a broad geographical region and serves as a resource for plant management for energy forecasts, communication, and collaboration regarding commercial aspects of energy supply. The successful candidate will:
- consult with plant management/users to adequately meet operational needs;
- analyze, develop and implement effective procurement strategies;
- ensure effective implementation of supply arrangements and efficient use of resources;

Raw Materials Purchasing Agent - Scrap Buyer II
BASIC FUNCTION:
The position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap suitable for steelmaking. Under the immediate direction of the Scrap Buyer Manager, the incumbent will execute the approved plan to achieve the objective of minimizing overall cost while maximizing return for operations.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is responsible for the economic and efficient procurement of retail scrap. BASIC FUNCTION (Primary Purpose):
To direct, manage, and significantly influence the sale of products within a designated market area with a focus on effective management of a sales team to meet overall sales goals and business strategy. BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of the Plant Environmental Manager, responsible for the implementation and maintenance of environmental management system (EMS), environmental compliance activities and radiation protection for the Steel Mill by assisting and advising Environmental Manager and department superintendents on environmental matters based on knowledge of environmental regulations and counsel of Corporate Environmental, outside attorneys, and consultants.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Environmental Specialist must keep up to date with environmental regulations and provide guidance and assistance to Mill management to ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and radiation procedures. This position reports directly to the Mill Environmental Manager. Direct or dotted line (varies by location) reporting to the incumbent are nonexempt/ hourly employees assigned to tend to environmental/radiation equipment and related areas.
The Environmental Specialist collects or oversees the collection of, samples and data required for various environmental permits. The position is also responsible for
preparation, submission , and timely filing of all environmental reports, including annual Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste, superfund, Title V, NPDES, radiation protection and various other environmental reporting which must be certified true and accurate by the company. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating permitting of all sources of air emissions, landfills, wastewater discharges, solid waste management, and storm water runoff for the mill site including any applicable contractor support functions.
The incumbent will train employees in environmental policy, as well as participate in the development of and adhere to Environmental Compliance Plans, such as SPCC and SWPPP. In cases where appropriate training is not in place, the incumbent will develop new training programs and presentations. In addition, the Environmental Specialist will assist plant operators and engineering in the planning of new or updated emissions control equipment or mill modifications, including review of new facilities and equipment to assure compliance with all applicable regulations.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and directing the radiation control program for all onsite operations. This includes monitoring, calibrating, and testing all radiation detection devices and ensuring proper response to all radiation detection alarms; developing procedures for handling radiation alarms; and developing procedure for responding to the possibility of a radioactive melt.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and directing activities associated with any on-site landfill. This includes performing, monitoring and testing activities; ground water monitoring; landfill inspections including stormwater drainage, vegetative or synthetic cover, and managing design, construction, related projects, maintenance and repairs.
The Environmental Specialist is responsible for implementing the environmental management system (EMS), the environmental conformance rating (ECR) program, and key performance indicator (KPI) monitoring programs. This position also actively supports the Environmental Manager in developing and implementing environmental action plans, environmental capital expenditure projects, GBS strategic directions,
safety responsibilities.
The Environmental Specialist obtains and provides direction, guidance, and assistance and influences operating departments as required to assure adherence to the environmental policy and to the Environmental Management System (EMS) and to assure the most efficient and effective use of resources required for remediation activities and for short-term and long-term environmental compliance in line with Company policy and under the general direction of the Mill Environmental Manager. Due to close contact with operating management and personnel, and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, the position requires the ability and maturity to effectively communicate with a variety of personalities and interests, sometimes under adversarial conditions or time constraints.
The major challenge of this position is to implement programs, practices and procedures under the general direction of the plant Environmental Manager to assure continuous short term and long-term compliance with environmental regulations.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Roll Shop Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to set up and operate a computer numerically controlled lathe to machine all types of new and used rolls to finished size and contour for all sections rolled in the Mill.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans working procedures from instructions, prints, computer programs, and work orders
- Slings rolls and places them in a lathe using a crane
- Centers and fastens roll in the lathe
- Barrels new rolls
- Selects and profiles cutting tools for the job in accordance with hardness, machinability, desired contour, and surface of the roll to be turned and set up in the tool holder
- Sets up and operates CNC lathe to turn any type of roll to finished size within close tolerances
- Selects and adjusts speeds and feeds for material to be cut
- Turns rolls to specifications and intermittently checks dimensions for compliance using a protractor, calipers, micrometers, rulers, straights edge, pass templates, and thickness gauges.
- Observes turning of roll, interrupts upon deviation from specifications, and corrects minor errors in a computer program by manually overriding computer
- Operates lathe manually to complete finishing of the roll such as taking out points, blending radii, and using plugs
- Operates milling machine to cut deformations in rolls
- Operates electric discharge machine (EDM) to brand rolls
- Inspects and lubricate equipment
Additional Responsibilities:
- Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules and guidelines for all tasks being performed.
- Responsible for training other personnel on electrical systems, PLC’s, networks, process changes, etc.

Your Qualifications:

Your Purpose:

Follow established material handling practices and procedures combined with directives from melt shop floor personnel. Cab is sealed and air conditioned.
Your Work:
- Operate a 270 ton overhead charging crane to pick-up and transport scrap bucket from scrap loading area to the furnace for charging. Lift, move, and position raw materials and refill material bins as needed. Perform electrode addition functions.
- Use judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of material movement and handling procedures required to service melt shop area in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manipulate or depress crane controls such as pedals/levers to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Unload, transfer, and aid in placing equipment, parts, electrodes, and other supplies.
- May serve as a Relief Ladle Crane Operator when regularly assigned operator is unavailable.

Job Summary:
The Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.

Job Summary
:
Oversee the activities of the Recycling yard personnel and coordinate multiple tasks for the purpose of collecting & sorting scrap into various grades, and coordinating with Sales & Purchasing the transfer of sorted material to customers (internal & external). The basic function of this position is to ensure that operating personnel perform their duties in order to fulfill the requirements of their job duties pertaining to the Recycling yard operations in a safe and timely manner.
Nature and Scope
:
This position reports to the Division Manager, and is responsible for overseeing the activities of movement of scrap through out the operation, as well as training, testing and auditing of the Recycling Yard Operators. The Supervisor will assist in the development of standard operating procedures used by Recycling personnel to fulfill their position duties. The majority of the standards developed will be safely moving traffic and products throughout the Yard. The Recycling Yard Supervisor will work with a variety of outside sources and must be able to interact with other Recycling Yard location personnel, Regional Managers, Customers and Scrap Suppliers. The incumbent should have a working knowledge of scrap and metal grades and must know the different types of steel scrap that is charged into the furnace and the quality requirements in order to make quality finished products. The Recycling Supervisor will be responsible to ensure the proper recording of weight of incoming scrap and outgoing finished product to ensure proper acknowledgement of receivables as well as shipments for proper payment.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Supervise scrap yard personnel for the proper placement of scrap cars and trucks within the Yard safely.
- Responsible for the organization of incoming and outgoing scrap.
- Responsible for the diagnosis and subsequent solution of equipment breakdown problems.
- Responsible for proper operation and utilization of equipment to prevent damage and minimize repair.
- Responsible for initiating, writing, training and auditing personnel on procedures for the Scrap Yard.

- Coordinates with Traffic, and Sales & Purchasing Department to coordinate the timely loading/unloading trucks. In addition, duties may include scheduling overtime to work additional hours to unload customers with scrap.
- Responsible for working with the scrap inspector for the proper inspection of incoming scrap by truck. The final decision of either accepting or rejecting incoming scrap will be made.
- Responsible for leading team activities to accomplish improvement goals including facilitating crew meetings.
- Responsible for Departmental housekeeping.
The Individual:
- University Degree plus 2-3 years related work experience or 5-7 years experience in the Scrap Metal industry

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator requires knowledge of scrap grading, or have the ability to learn. The Yard Operator will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
- Work involves a variety of tasks, simple through moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
- Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
- Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.

GENERAL SUMMARY: An Automation Specialist will install, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production process. Must be able to troubleshoot component parts, service and repair industrial process control systems, instrumentation, robotic assembly devices, and computer-controlled equipment designed to reduce human interaction. Work involves a wide range of diversified and complex duties including installation, modification, and programming of complex closed loop and digital electronic equipment. Subject matter expert in the area of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming (Primarily Rockwell and ABB), and HMI Systems. Automation, and instrumentation including motion sensors, control components, load cells, VFD’s, photosensors, camera systems and other vital technology. In addition to maintaining smooth operation, you will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities. This is a specialized position, and our ideal applicant has considerable experience and education in engineering, robotics, and production automation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs advanced PLC programming and HMI programming, networking, and troubleshooting; setup and install hardware; and as necessary evaluate equipment making recommendation for design changes and improvements. 2. Has expert knowledge and understanding, as well as the ability to modify, ancillary systems or equipment used in conjunction with PLCs such as: operating systems, software packages, drives and/or data acquisition systems, taking care to identify the root causes of equipment failure. 3. May check and calibrate plant instrumentation; routinely checks plant equipment, reheat furnace, melt shop electronic systems or other instrumentation. JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of repetitive electrical maintenance duties necessary to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment needed to produce finished products, which requires an advanced understanding of control circuits, DC and AC drives, overhead cranes, electronics, and test equipment. NATURE AND SCOPE:
Within the established Corporate policies, this position is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Company’s service functions pertaining primarily to financial, general, cost, property and material accounting; d benefit programs accounting; capital expenditures, and management information systems; responsible for coordination, review and approval by outside independent auditors to secure certification of Company’s financial reports and meeting various requirements of the SEC as the largest subsidiary of the publically traded company, Gerdau (GGB) and other governmental agencies.

Indirect (dotted line) reporting to this position are division controllers who are responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions and monthly financial close and cost accounting of the divisions.
This position is responsible for the review and reporting of the financial results of the largest subsidiary of the publicly-traded parent company on all phases of the Company’s operations to see that they are within International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and meeting various requirements of SEC and other governmental agencies and parent company reporting requirements. In addition, the position oversees the reporting on performance and results of groups, regions, divisions and units to measure accomplishment of corporate goals and objectives; directs preparation and presents annual, quarterly and monthly balance sheets, profit and loss statements, trial balances, management information and other statistical reports.
This position has dotted line reporting from division controllers and is responsible for the oversight and coordination of accounting and financial reporting at the division operations to insure that division accounting is following IFRS and Company accounting policies. QUALIFICATIONS:

QC Metallurgist
Responsible for providing support in the coordination and evaluation of external and internal customer requirements in accordance with the capacities and capabilities of the production departments (i.e. Steel Making and Rolling), and ancillary service departments (i.e. process and product metallurgy, material handling marketing).
DIMENSIONS
- Advisory staff position. Provides technical training and guidance to employees.
- Has access to highly confidential information.
- Under the general direction of the Quality Assurance Manager is primarily responsible for the identification, evaluation, and implementation of product and process enhancement opportunities.
- Actions would involve the planning, supervision, evaluation, and reporting of product trials and investigations on site or outside facilities.
- Incumbent will visit customers when there is a technical problem with the product or quality issue and determine the nature of the problem.
- Upon visit to the customer, the incumbent physically inspects the product to determine resolution pertaining to material disposition and implementation of corrective action procedures.
- Incumbent will work with customers and plant personnel to conduct investigation and study to resolve quality problems and meet customer requirements.
- Incumbent will coordinate customer visits and tours of the Gerdau Wilton facility.
- The incumbent must have good communication skills to meet the needs of various audiences and must possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
- This position requires the ability to use a range of technical instruments and equipment to analyze materials and have good safety awareness for himself/herself and for others.
- In accordance with ISO 9000 requirements, the incumbent will actively participate in developing and auditing of work standards pertaining to product quality, will be involved and kept up to date with ASTM specifications and activities.

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly
- General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability

Job Summary:
This is an entry level position for the Solar Pile fabrication facility. The incumbent will be responsible for painting finished product according to standards and general material handling. Will also perform general utility functions to assist operators, maintenance, and leadership as needed. This position is night shift.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for painting finished product according to customer specifications using paint sprayers and/or brushes. This includes proper preparation of the paint and painting equipment and maintaining the paint area in an organized and clean manner.
- Upon completion of painting, incumbent will be responsible to ensure the product is tagged correctly for proper placement in the inventory yard.
- Assist with inventory management by accurately identifying and counting bundles and validating the physical location of materials.
- Efficiently and safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts, including the completion of required pre-use inspections.
- Assists forklift drivers with cutting banding or tags, scanning bundles, and handling dunnage.
- Safely handles the movement of materials (crop cuts, dunnage, scrap, slugs, et) in the production facility and outside work areas for efficient access and/or appropriate disposal. This includes emptying scrap buckets and restocking materials as needed.
- Perform quality checks to ensure customers receive prime material that meets their specification and expectations. Visual inspections include but are not limited to: ensuring proper paint color, squareness, length, appropriate hole cuts, saw cuts, and bar quality.
- Responsible for the tagging function which includes refilling tags at the tagging robot and manually tagging product as needed.
- Assists team members with the rework process following established guidelines.
- Follow ISO standards and practices striving for zero defects, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate production records.
Additional Responsibilities:
- This position will be required to work some overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on production goals.
- Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with other team members, leadership, customers, and suppliers.
- Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules/guidelines for tasks being performed. This includes immediately reporting any incident or accident that can reasonably affect someone’s safety, effectiveness of the work process, or equipment conditions.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting all aspects of Treasury Operations including cash management, debt management, insurance, and pension assets. This position reports to the Treasury Manager who reports directly to the Director of Finance. Below is further detail on the job role.
Cash Management
- Responsible for developing, managing and executing Gerdau’s Cash Management process including the determination of investment or borrowing decisions through short-term forecasting. Sets daily “cash position” by reviewing bank activity, balancing accounts and investing excess cash. Ensures all cash activity is accounted on the general ledger; responsible for managing wire payments; executes FX transactions as necessary; establishes new bank accounts and manages related documentation; ensures adherence to all corporate policies related to cash and Treasury SOX internal controls. Qualifications for this position must include:

- High degree of professionalism required due to confidentiality of data involved with insurance claims, banking access, and other responsibilities such M&A activity.
NATURE & SCOPE:
The position reports directly to the Treasury Manager. It is very fast paced and requires a solid foundation in corporate finance and valuation theory as well as a practical and simple approach to implementation of the theory. There will be many situations that are not straight forward for which the position requires inventive solutions to arrive at a solution. The position requires an ability to articulate in a simple and straight forward manner the complex topics of valuation, capital structure, risk mitigation, pension and the capability to understand then relay the relevant accounting to senior management.
