GENERAL SUMMARY 

 

The Business Analyst II with Manufacturing focus serves as a subject matter expert for technology on industrial operations, product quality and EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety). This role analyzes industrial processes, designs solutions, and integrates systems to improve efficiency, support Industry 4.0 initiatives, and drive operational excellence on the shop floor. You will be a partner with production operations, OT, engineering and IT teams to ensure seamless system implementation, process optimization, and adoption of digital technologies. 

 

The position sits in the Jackson Office and is expected to be at other GSN locations on a routine basis, to support multiple sites. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert working with business processes peers solving problems, and advising on various business-related issues 

  • Analyze, gather requirements, design business processes, define functional specifications, and configure solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs  

  • Analyze, evaluate, design, and configure new computer software and systems 

  • Configure, develop, implement systems, and smoothly integrate applications with existing IT business solutions.  

  • Provide system support, end-user training, and document processes. 

  • Participate in projects as an IT expert. 

  • Keep abreast of the latest systems offerings, updates, and developments. 

  • Work with Digital IT service providers to provide support to users, to deliver applications enhancements and on project activities. 

  • Lead functional areas and/or support project leadership in implementation projects. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience with manufacturing 

  • Expertise in IT and Industrial Systems Integration: Strong understanding of IT processes and functions, including development, infrastructure, security, and governance, combined with deep knowledge of manufacturing and industrial systems. This includes experience with enterprise and shop-floor solutions such as ERP, MES, PLM, SCADA systems, as well as middleware, integration platforms, and data management solutions to support production planning, operations monitoring, and end-to-end manufacturing process optimization. 

  • Ability to discuss and design business processes 

  • Ability to guide and manage IT services providers 

  • Desired experience on Agile, Project Management, or Design Thinking  

 

Active engagement in plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives is expected. The Business Analyst II will serve as a strategic liaison between IT and manufacturing operations, ensuring technological solutions, ranging from ERP, MES, to shop-floor control and data platforms, effectively support operational needs while aligning with Gerdau’s strategy. In addition, you should understand basic business processes and possess the ability to identify and develop workflows and process maps for continual improvement and waste elimination within the business.
