PRIMARY FUNCTION: Operation of overhead crane supporting lifts required for operation and maintenance.

SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: Department Supervisor

DIRECTION EXERCISED: None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Receives instruction from the Shift Supervisor and direction from hourly personnel.

2. Trains in all cranes to support operations and maintenance.

3. Monitors and reports equipment problems or the need for maintenance.  Coordinates repairs with tradesmen and supports as required.

4. Fills vacancies in a crane on shift when required.

5. When not training or not required to operate cranes, will be assigned to work in entry level positions on the ground in their department.

6. Responsible for training other union personnel as required.

7. Observes all plant rules and policies. 

8. Performs housekeeping.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required. 

• College diploma or certificate in heavy equipment operation or overhead crane operation considered an asset.

• Ability to work continential shift rotation required.

• Must successfully pass employment and criminal reference checks.
