Primary:

  • Move, handle and prepare bars for shipment or processing per department procedures.
  • Possess and demonstrate ability to qualify and perform the sequential position(s) in the Finishing Area.
  • Maintains housekeeping per checklist and as assigned

Secondary:

  • In general this Job classification assists and performs the less technical functions and responsibilities performed by the Process Line Operator.

TRAINING AND/OR BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of Finishing Floorman/Qualification Checklist
  • Acquire and maintain valid Lift Truck Operators permit.
  • Acquire and maintain valid Remote Crane Operators Permit.

­­­­QUALITY RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knows and understands the Quality Policy
  • Attends Quality Meetings
  • Maintains bundle identity
  • Maintains heat integrity
  • Segregation of defective product
  • Completion of all related documentation
  • Visual inspection of product
  • Various measuring inspections
  • Calibration checks of measuring devices

SAFETY RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain housekeeping in area
  • Maintain safe work environment
  • Attend safety meetings
  • Report/repair any unsafe condition or equipment
  • Observe and follow all departmental safety rules and regulations (including Cardinal Safety Rules).

COST/PRODUCTION RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proper handling, storage, retrieval and inspection of finished product.
  • Maintain housekeeping
  • Maintain storage areas
  • Clean-up or assist in clean-up of material spills

ENVIRONMENTAL RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employee is expected to know, understand, and follow all applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental legal requirements and practices.
  • Responsible for and completing all required annual safety and environmental training (inc. fugitive dust and torch cutting).
  • Responsible for spill prevention, containment, response and clean up or assist in clean up of material spills.
