BASIC FUNCTION (Primary Purpose):
This jobs primary function is to build relationships with customers and help support the sale of Gerdau product(s) to our customers (i.e., revenue generation)

30% | Prospects new & existing business – may identify opportunities for Outside Sales to directly interact or visit with customers as needed. Existing –calls on C, D (generally) customers to solicit for new business (new growth and organic growth), coordinate sales for outside sales calls. Call on customers who are below plan and proactively look for opportunites to upsell or sell to customers to include cold calling brand new customers. New – ID brand new opportunities Qualifies (who is your current supplier; are they getting their steel from service center – conflict of interest) Will be assigned customers and/or territory and be accountable to meet a defined quota/sales goal. Building a joint forecast with Outside sales representative, Planning which customers to call on and where to focus time and efforts, ID how much customers can buy and should buy. Partnership between Outside and Inside sales representatives to effectively manage customers and selling opportunities |
5% | Generate weekly sales call reports – manage sales according to plan, track sales calls and follow up with customers |
5% | Participate in regular meetings |
10% | Collaborate with the Sales Manager, Inside Sales, Customer Service, Fulfillment, Marketing and other groups to ensure customers are receiving superior customer service and have the product availability in the timeframe and quantities as negotiated. |
Scope (brief description)
:
This position is responsible for generating revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders from customers (both existing and potential). This position has direct responsibility for Inside Sales to include inbound and outbound sales calls.This position will have established sales goals/quotas (volume, forecast accuracy) to attain within his/her territory. The approximate size/volume of territory is greater than 10,000 tons per month. The mix of customers and tons can vary greatly from territory to territory and product to product.

Qualifications and Educational requirement(s):
Two or more years of sales experience and a four year degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred experience in the following industries (not required): 1. Steel, 2. Metals Manufacturing, 3. Commodities pertaining to the steel industry, 4. Metals Distribution/Service Centers, 5. General Manufacturing (industrial, car).
Preferred degree in the following areas (not required): 1. Business with Sales and Marketing emphasis, 2. Engineering or Material sciences
Minimal to moderate travel is required –estimated at 2 to 5 overnights per month.
