Maintenance Supervisor
This position is responsible for providing all Shredder, Semi fleet, and mobile equipment maintenancewithin the region (preventive and breakdown) including the servicing of existing equipment and installation of new equipment. This position will provide leadership guidance on establishing a productive, high performing, and safety conscious working cell environment. It is responsible for the training, guidance, and performance evaluation of a team of 2 or more under area/cell of responsibility.
NATURE AND SCOPE
This position has mechanical maintenance responsibility for all Shredder, Semi fleet, and mobile equipment maintenancewithin the region, (mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic). The Maintenance Supervisor establishes work methods and procedures for corrective and preventive maintenance programs, coordinates with production personnel in order to minimize downtime and maintenance cost. In conjunction with Manager, establishes maintenance priorities and annual action plans and key measurables. Responsible for maintaining maintenance inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for subordinate selection, training, evaluation, discipline, motivation and safety. Accountable for employee compliance with established safety procedures.
Incumbent checks work in progress to ensure proper maintenance is being performed, anticipates problems, investigates inadequate equipment performance and takes corrective action.
The incumbent should have a working knowledge of industrial maintenance. Qualifications for this position would include 2 - 3 years related work experience, or 5 - 7 years of related work experience in equal or lesser jobs is acceptable.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Responsible for all preventive and operational maintenance of Shredder, Semi fleet, and mobile equipment maintenance within the region.
2. Establishing effective maintenance methods and procedures. Champion routine maintenance, predictive and preventative maintenance
3. Minimizing downtime and maintenance cost, implement corrective and preventive measures.
4. Responsible for employee positive labor relations, training, evaluation, discipline and safety.
5. Responsible for departmental housekeeping. Promote and actively develop 5S methodology.
6. Responsible for carrying out corporate policy and programs and consistent application of the collective agreement. Handle first step grievance meetings.
7. Develop vendor sources, coordinate outside services and coordinate on site contractor activities.
8. Responsible for leading tem activities to accomplish improvement goals, including facilitating monthly crew meetings
