BASIC FUNCTION:

The responsibility of this position is to support the entire Supply Chain team by managing the Data Warehouse and Reporting Infrastructure.  From day to day usage as well as Projects participation this person will be the subject matter expert on what data is appropriate to use and provide access to the business. It is key that they build a network of stakeholders with different departments to ensure appropriate assumptions and usage of key data and information. This person will ensure data availability and integrity to ensure appropriate context in the business.  Learning how Gerdau does business is key to success in this role and finding impactful solutions.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Data Analyst will perform these duties with minimal management validation:

 

  1. Maintain Data Warehouse and Reports that support Supply Chain team
    1. Includes Fulfillment/Scheduling, Logistics, and Sales and Operations Planning
    2. Primary Reporting platform is PowerBI
    3. Databricks, SQL Manager, Alteryx are primary platforms used
    4. SQL & Python are primary Languages used
  2. Analysis
    1. Support supply chain teams in analysis and solving business problems
  3. Projects
    1. Transition current Data Infrastructure to the Future state
    2. Support Projects relevant to the Supply Chain team

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in data science, data analysis, business, finace or a related area
  • Five + years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, Supply Chain analytics or related analytical roles preferred
  • Experience related to the Steel industry or Manufacturing Environment is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with other departments and customers
  • Experience in planning and performing data analysis projects and processes from start to finish
  • Proficient with Power BI, SQL, Python, Data Management platforms (Data Bircks / Alteryx), andstatistical analysis and research methodologies
  • Time management, critical thinking and problem solving skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills, process oriented, work creatively and analytically to solve day-in and day-out problems
  • Requires proven ability to establish and maintain strong, positive relationships within the business
  • Prior knowledge of a Business ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft)

 

 

The Data Analyst may be required to travel approximately four times per year to visit customers, mills, seminars, trainings and/or attend trade shows and trade association meetings.
