BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for working in teams and with a multitude of vendors, business partners and technologies in order to administer, influence the design, provide an exceptional employee experience, improve wellness outcomes, and maintain program compliance of Gerdau North American benefits for employees, former employees, and families.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position reports to the Total Rewards Manager and is considered a Tampa Office Center of Excellence resource and will support North American operations. The Total Rewards Analyst will work with all North American customer groups and business units including Tampa Office functional departments, Metallics/Raw Materials, Mills, and downstream operations.
The qualifications for this job are:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredidated university required; areas of study in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years experience in Total Rewards area(s) or an equivalent demonstrated by 4-6 years experience in accounting, finance, compliance matters with close support of Total Rewards programs, and cross development of total rewards skillsets demonstrated by achieved learnings in ERISA, Benefit plan management, or DC and pension retirement programs.
- PHR, GBA or RPA equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience with union and non-union facilities is a plus.

- Strong understanding and ongoing learning of best practices, laws, requirements, and regulations impacting the administration of Benefit programs and plans.

- Ability to adapt to many varied situations, circumstances, and personalities at all levels within and outside the company.
- General ability to analyze large data sets, assess trends or patterns and make recommendations based on data (quantitative) and situational factors (qualitative).
- Frequent experience with the use of HR systems, report development and corporate Office365 technologies. SAP experience preferred, but not required.
- Uses Office Suite Products to deeply analyze data, create KPIs, simplify processes, connect different mediums. Uses Office365 tools for project and task management. Connects tools such as teams, planners, and chat into cohesive project or task planning tools. Utilizes Data to drive decisions, provide insights aligned with understanding department, company, and roadmap priorities.
- Ability to work collaborate with company and vendor information systems personnel to design, modify, interpret and test functional and vendor specifications.

- Negotiation skills and the ability to communicate with leaders at all levels in organization.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead Total Rewards programs and plans efficiently and accurately administered, in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and company policy, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Lead annual/regular processes in the Total Rewards department. Examples may include compliance testing support, UAT testing for system upgrades, or open enrollment activities and resolution of issues. Act as a subject matter expert for other internal processes.
- Partner with and support field HR, retirees, beneficiaries, spouses, and former employee requests in all areas of benefits plan administration. May handle escalated or more complex issues.
- Subject matter expert for audit requests from external and internal parties. Document internal processes, procedures and administration as appropriate for audit requirements.
- Provide analytical support for special projects and North America wide actions, including union negotiations, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, layoffs, workforce reductions, closings or start-ups.
- Proactively identifies Total Rewards challenges and opportunities. Recommends creative and practical solutions to resolve challenges and/or capitalize on opportunities.
- Lead benefits integration actions for special projects such as corporate actions, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, layoffs, reductions in force and location closings or start-ups.
- Develops and delivers communications, training and educational programs.
- Partner and work in collaboration with many cross-functional departments on company-wide initiatives and multi-department projects. May lead cross-functional, benefits-related projects.
- Creates direction and updates to properly reflect the impacts of NDT testing, government mandated limits, legeslative change in congruance with payroll, HRIS, and IT. Monitors various reports, file feeds, and relevant data to ensure plans are properly administered in compliance with plan rules and are properly reflected in payroll, trusts, accounting ledgers, funding, budgets, and allocations.
- Ensure data integrity with internal systems (ex: SAP), external systems (ex: TR Portal, Benefits Center), vendor file interfaces, etc. Acts as a project leader or liason to IT to resolve data integrity concerns.
- Primary liaison with IT and Shared Services in the development, testing, implementation, and post-production review of system changes and configuration requests to include SAP Support Packs, CBA changes, new locations, new benefit plans, or annual limit changes.
- Acts as subject matter expert for reconciliation, trusts, budget management, allocations, payment and monitoring of vendors. This may include account payable payments, and analyzing performance standards for vendors.
- Coordinates the distribution of Funding Notices, Summary Annual Reports (SAR), Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD) and Summary of Material Modifications (SMM), etc.
- Reviews and distributes all required notices, such as Funding Notices, Summary Annual Reports (SAR), Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD), plan booklets, etc.
- Leads wellbeing programs with vendors and with field HR. May develop and lead wellbeing education sessions.
- Provide extensive and ongoing system, feeds, and integration data validation to ensure proper payroll, benefit management, and funding of plans.
- Solves issues including personal one on one meetings, Ad-hoc issues, various leave issues, complex retirement support, medications, vendors, accountants, HR, and addresses any other challenges as they arise leaning on leadership for the most complex issues.
- Support and participate in benefits data, benchmarking, and legislative review as it pertains to the development of strategy, project management, and annual planning.
- Drive ongoing and Employee Experience reviews, soliciting feedback and reviewing various data points (call center activity, website utilization, deferral rates, etc.) to identify opportunities to improve the employee experience.
- Provide and travel to on-site locations to deliver presentations, host wellbeing fairs, or provide employee support as required.
