PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment, including hydraulic equipment, in a producing unit or assigned area.TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant/incumbent must complete or have completed the required training described for new or existing employees for this position under the GBS (Gerdau Business System). Hazardous waste training and specific equipment operation training (if needed) will be covered annually.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Supervisor (performs work with minimum of direction).DIRECTION EXERCISED:
Works alone or directs other work persons as required.WORKING PROCEDURES:
- Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be done.
- Inspects mill equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, hydraulic systems, etc. Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production. Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
- Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, hydraulic equipment and lubricates mechanical equipment. Adjusts equipment for proper operating gears, bearings and shafts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits. Operates simple machine tools, such as drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc. Babbitts and scrapes bearing as required. Erects scaffolds and performs all rigging as necessary.
- Performs all mechanical repairs as required on cranes and mobile equipment.
- Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of pipe lines, fittings, fixtures and pressure systems as required.
- Repairs leaks in hydraulic systems. Replaces section of pipe that have sprung leaks. Removes and installs complete operating components such as cylinders, oil motors, four way valves, check valves, etc. that are kept as spares for assemblies on production units, and makes necessary repairs to same.
- Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.
- Works with repair crews as directed and/or required.
- Completes reports and forms as directed.
- Exercises all required safety precautions and maintains a clean work area.
- Operates mobile equipment as required.
- Operates E.O.T. crane as required for maintenance purposes.
- Manages hazardous waste

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Arranges shipments by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating delivery requirements; placing and expediting orders. Daily reports on what items are being shipped and preliminary shipment bundles have been assigned. Needs to arrange for carrier to deliver steel or segment out shipments where the customer has already arranged for delivery with their own carrier.
Verify delivery instructions and times that the customer has requested
Monitoring availability of truck, rail and barge shipments and dispatching carriers, generating shipping documents and directing the loading of steel
Will negotiate freight rates with local carriers

Basic Function:
This position will be responsible for establishing a productive, high performing, and safety conscious working team in a steel mill's scrap operation. It will focus on all aspects related to safety, environmental, production, cost, quality, and people management. This position is responsible for the training, guidance, and performance evaluations of a team of employees working rotating shifts and reports to the Melt Shop Superintendent.
Nature and Scope:
The major role of this job is to ensure routine management efforts are followed and opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production within the area of responsibility are identified. The Routine Facilitator is responsible for ensuring standardization of processes within the area of responsibility. These duties will include needs assessments, auditing, coaching of production/quality improvement programs and standards, ITS training, 5S improvements, development and implementation of cost and environmental control goals, development and implementation of new and current preventive maintenance and safety management processes and procedures. The Routine Facilitator will be responsible for standardization administration as it relates to processes in control standards, management standards, routine procedures, job aids, one point lesions, and process guarantee tables. This position is responsible for ensuring that standardization processes are properly documented and training is provided to personnel responsible for operating in accordance with the standards. This position is accountable for auditing performance, documenting findings, and developing corrective action plans. These duties will include standard compliance audits as well as development and implementation of new and existing standards.
Qualifications for this position include a two year degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field experience with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Incumbent must have a working knowledge of the steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment. Previous qualifying experience in scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, shipping/warehouse operations, and supervisory/facilitation a must. Successful candidate will demonstrate a basic knowledge of the business system and the use of complex technical and engineering processes. Requires the ability to train and guide people. The incumbent should possess solid presentation abilities combined with good interpersonal and organizational skills. People management skills a must. The incumbent will coordinate efforts with the different functional groups both within area of responsibility and other areas of the location. The incumbent will be assigned to an area of responsibility (i.e., safety, cost, training, quality, etc.) or a specific area/department. Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion

Locations with Rail:

JOB SUMMARY:
The position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap appropriate for steelmaking. Under the immediate direction of the Director - Raw Materials, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the approved plan to accomplish the objective of minimizing overall billet cost.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap in an economical and efficient manner. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relations with available suppliers including active solicitation of new supply sources, within assigned region. The supplier base will include both established retail processors as well as suppliers whose business is conducted on a direct basis at the retail buying facilities as established at Gerdau mill divisions.
This position reports directly to the Director-Raw Materials and has a functional reporting relationship to the Jackson Mill Scrap Operations Superintendent. The incumbent will coordinate activities with other procurement personnel, Transportation, Melt Shop management, and mill scrap inspection and accounting personnel.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of three to five years experience in the buying, melting or receiving of steel scrap or similar work experience at an exempt level. In addition, incumbent should possess knowledge of sources and grades of raw materials, along with some knowledge of transportation issues and scrap yard operations.
The incumbent must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate business and must possess strong negotiating, communication, math and problem-solving skills. Candidate must function effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. High ethical standards and a strong work ethic are key attributes. Incumbent will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical and productive relationships with suppliers. This position requires travel to complete job duties and maintain an effective network of vendors, mill personnel, and industry organizations.
The incumbent’s primary responsibility is the cost-effective procurement of retail scrap to support the production plans of Gerdau facilities. Incumbent must stay abreast of current market trends and be aware of regional scrap markets and competitive situations/practices. Requires utilizing a network of sources to understand market activity and determine the needs of the mill/s supplied.
A key responsibility will be to provide information to other members of the raw materials procurement team. The incumbent will solicit and review competitive alternatives, assess vendor capabilities and past performance, recommend alternative sources for retail scrap and select suppliers based on information gathered. The incumbent will procure retail scrap based on the specific terms of purchase contracts within established policies and procedures, verify purchase order details, and document vendor performance.
Incumbent will work closely with Transportation to keep them informed of new methods of shipment and carriers that may help minimize overall scrap costs. The incumbent will also keep plant and corporate management abreast of changing market conditions.
This position also serves as a liaison between mill personnel and scrap suppliers. This position will provide commercial information used in analyzing melting and inventory requirements. Incumbent must remain aware of any changes in melting schedules or blends that will impact scrap requirements, and will assist the Director - Raw Materials in taking appropriate remedial steps needed to support operations in response to changing market conditions. The incumbent must be familiar with basic melting requirements at the mill in order to know the effect of different grades of scrap, relative to billet chemistry specifications.
As required, the incumbent will inspect and address scrap quality issues that arise at the mill site. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms/conditions, and safety and environmental compliance requirements to vendors, shippers, and inspection personnel.
Incumbent must be knowledgeable in the computer systems and procedures used to receive, handle and pay for scrap throughout the Company and assist in resolving any problems that may arise with vendors. Candidate must actively coordinate any such issues with appropriate administrative and accounting personnel.

9. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms-and-conditions and safety and environmental compliance requirements to shippers and plant personnel.
10. Candidate must maintain computer literacy in procurement systems, with proficiency in company scrap information systems and other business applications.
11. Recruit new supply sources for retail scrap in the local regional market.

Job Summary:

Job Summary:
This is an entry level position for the Solar Pile fabrication facility. The incumbent will be responsible for painting finished product according to standards and general material handling. Will also perform general utility functions to assist operators, maintenance, and leadership as needed. This position is night shift.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for painting finished product according to customer specifications using paint sprayers and/or brushes. This includes proper preparation of the paint and painting equipment and maintaining the paint area in an organized and clean manner.
- Upon completion of painting, incumbent will be responsible to ensure the product is tagged correctly for proper placement in the inventory yard.
- Assist with inventory management by accurately identifying and counting bundles and validating the physical location of materials.

- Assists forklift drivers with cutting banding or tags, scanning bundles, and handling dunnage.
- Safely handles the movement of materials (crop cuts, dunnage, scrap, slugs, et) in the production facility and outside work areas for efficient access and/or appropriate disposal. This includes emptying scrap buckets and restocking materials as needed.
- Perform quality checks to ensure customers receive prime material that meets their specification and expectations. Visual inspections include but are not limited to: ensuring proper paint color, squareness, length, appropriate hole cuts, saw cuts, and bar quality.
- Responsible for the tagging function which includes refilling tags at the tagging robot and manually tagging product as needed.
- Assists team members with the rework process following established guidelines.
- Follow ISO standards and practices striving for zero defects, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Within an assigned procurement region, this position is responsible for managing and defining the procurement process of necessary goods and services in a timely, economical, and efficient manner in order to meet mill manufacturing goals. Goals are met by implementing and maintaining effective relationships with current Commodity/Category suppliers as well as developing new supply sources within their designated area. The Buyer will coordinate activities with procurement, logistics, plant management, operations, maintenance, stores, and accounting personnel in efforts to meet particular supply and demand goals.
The incumbent should possess general knowledge of the steelmaking industry, manufacturing, industrial relations, logistics and procurement procedures and techniques. BASIC FUNCTION:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for improving work force safety, productivity and work quality. It is accountable for managing and planning of shop non-emergency work orders for equipment to maximize reliability, optimizing maintenance costs, and reducing equipment downtime. This job coordinates with the operating and maintenance personnel to determine and plan maintenance work including preventative, predictive, and scheduled corrective maintenance as well as pending work from emergencies and projects to improve equipment reliability. This position works with and supports the ERP-Equipment Reliability Process and is system manager of the Computerized Maintenance Management (CMM) system for the assigned area.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications for this position include a working knowledge of heavy manufacturing with a target of five years hands-on-experience in lesser positions or equivalent experience. A post-secondary education in administration, engineering or a technical college diploma in an electrical or mechanical discipline is desired. The incumbent must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a fast-learner, have the ability to work independently, perform and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimum supervision and must be proficient with computers and databases.
NATURE AND SCOPE
• This position is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating proactive maintenance activities of equipment. Providing technical assistance and maintenance expertise to the Monroe Mill. The ERP Planner reports directly to the Area Lead Maintenance Facilitator and works closely with operating and maintenance departments.
• This position will maximize the reliability of the equipment using a formal, systematic/analytical approach to planning and scheduling maintenance activities for scheduled outages. Participate and facilitate down day, outage and weekly planning meetings. Participate in projects and maintenance activities that will improve the reliability of the equipment.
• This position will be responsible for building detailed job plans, managing work orders and backlog for planned work and will ensure the proper data management of the maintenance related software systems. Work order plans will be developed with all predictive technologies in conjunction with mill operating and maintenance departments.
• Due to close contact with operating management and personnel, outside contractors and vendors, this position requires the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of personalities and interests. The incumbent must manage the interests of all parties in creating and modifying work procedures and equipment.
• The incumbent will work within the Gerdau Business System to monitor and manage performance. Key indicators will be developed in support of ERP assessment. Will participate, organize and conduct training programs for the maintenance personnel regarding new operating equipment, software, methodologies and procedures.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Financial Analyst function within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group is an leading contributor role supporting the FP&A Managers for Planning and Strategy, Operations Management, and Business Development. This position will be responsible for performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual analysis of actual results to better understand how they compare to forecasted/planned performance. Goals of analytic activities are to confirm current actions are achieving desired results, identify new areas for improvement or challenges to achieving desired results, and improving the overall capability of the various Corporate or Operational functions to forecast desired results. The Senior Financial Analyst will be required to work with varying levels of the GNA Management (including the VP level) and to present analysis and action plans to Senior Management.
DIMENSIONS:
Works directly with (or in tandem with their respective FP&A Manager) a Process Leader and their team to monitor, analyze and improve results. Provides direction to functional counterparts in operating units as required, and to operating and senior management on matters involving cost determination problems, or issues such as inventory valuation, distribution of overhead, treatment of joint costs, and product pricing. Conducts special studies and analyses such as determination of work-in-house, or subcontract and cost impact of proposed facilities or processes. Participates in Process Leader team meetings (as appropriate) to ensure current analyses are providing value and to identify where new areas of analysis need to be developed. Works with location controllers to ensure analysis and/or improvement activities are communicated to the appropriate level of accountability to achieve desired results. At times, analysts may be involved with presentations of results developed for the CFO, COO, CEO, Gerdau Ameristeel Executive Committee, Gerdau Ameristeel Board of Directors, Gerdau Group Executive Committee or Gerdau Group Board of Directors.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Senior Financial Analysts will report to one of the FP&A managers; however, given work balancing may receive direction from any of the managers and/or the Director of FP&A. The expectation is that once the individual is transitioned to the FP&A team, they will be able to interact with VP levels, management, etc. with little oversight and direction. Additionally, while not having managerial responsibilities, this position may require the individual to provide functional advice or training to less-experienced financial analyst positions
Travel requirements will be minimal as these roles will generally support analysis of a Corporate group (Commercial, Raw Materials, Downstream, SIOP, Engineering, etc.) or a Mill Operations VP/GM, the majority of which are in the Corporate Office. The analyst supporting the FP&A Manager for Business Development may have periods of travel related to the type of projects being worked on at the time.

You Have:
- Four year college degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Material Science combined with 3 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality methods.

Your Purpose:
You will provide leadership and establish a productive, high performing, and safety conscious work environment. You will focus on all aspects related to safety, environmental, production, cost, quality, and people management of the Roll Shop. You will be accountable for achieving measurable goals including budget adherence, set-up schedule compliance, and provide the necessary support for the Rolling Mill Department to accomplish its goals.
Your Work:
- Manage the work flow within the Roll Shop area, assist in minimizing downtime/breakdowns and maximizing productivity, monitor performance, manage routine processes, and train employees in routine management standards.
- Facilitate training sessions for operators related to process procedures, policies, and best practices.
- Coach and develop the team with failure analysis and support improvement initiatives.
- Develop performance expectations, audit performance, document findings, and establish corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with and encourage operators on subjects pertaining to the Rolling Mill processes, standard audits, 5S initiatives, equipment assessments, preventive maintenance and safety processes and procedures, and other process routine management activities to identify opportunities for improvement and solve problems.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Sr. Market Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in the Marketing and Sales team by performing market research, leading our market forecasting process and being the organizational reference in competitive analysis. This role will require strong analytical skills, advanced experience using Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Power Point, and ability to lead internal projects. You will be a hands-on Analyst that is also exposed to our high leadership, have relationships with teams from other countries, and work with exciting emerging trends. The Sr Market Intelligence Analyst will report to the Marketing Manager, and they will also work together on initiatives looking for new revenue streams to our organization.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Sr Market Intelligence Analyst position increases in scope beyond Marketing Analyst to include special, non-standard analysis and leadership of different initiatives, such as:

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Within an assigned procurement region, this position is responsible for managing and defining the procurement process of necessary goods and services in a timely, economical, and efficient manner to meet mill manufacturing goals. Goals are met by implementing and maintaining effective relationships with current Commodity/Category suppliers as well as developing new supply sources within their designated area. The Buyer will coordinate activities with procurement, logistics, plant management, operations, maintenance, stores, and accounting personnel in efforts to meet supply and demand goals.
The incumbent should possess general knowledge of the steelmaking industry, manufacturing, industrial relations, logistics and procurement procedures and techniques. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Economics, or related field or at least 5 years of direct procurement experience required in lieu of a degree.
The incumbent must be a self-starter, possess strong skills in communications, math and problem-solving skills, and be able to function effectively independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. High ethical standards and a strong work ethic are key attributes. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Procure goods and services, prepare purchase orders and/or supply contracts within established policies and procedures, verify purchase order details, and document vendor performance.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies, review min/max levels, assess vendor capabilities and past performance, recommend adjustments, and collect supplier performance data.
- Keep the procurement team, plant personnel, and central management abreast of changing market and supplier conditions.
- Inspect, address, and rectify product quality issues as they arise.

Performs maintenance necessary to keep plant, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition. Job Summary:
Move finished product from rolling mill to staging area for outbound shipments with the use of mobile or material handling equipment. Assist in a variety of functions related to the Logistics Department including inventory and quality checks.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Metals Recycling Supervisor - Oshawa
Job Summary:
Oversee the activities of the Recycling yard personnel and coordinate multiple tasks for the purpose of collecting & sorting scrap into various grades, and coordinating with Sales & Purchasing the transfer of sorted material to customers (internal & external). The basic function of this position is to ensure that operating personnel perform their duties in order to fulfill the requirements of their job duties pertaining to the Recycling yard operations in a safe and timely manner.
Nature and Scope:
This position reports to the Division Manager, and is responsible for overseeing the activities of movement of scrap through out the operation, as well as training, testing and auditing of the Recycling Yard Operators. The Supervisor will assist in the development of standard operating procedures used by Recycling personnel to fulfill their position duties. The majority of the standards developed will be safely moving traffic and products throughout the Yard. The Recycling Yard Supervisor will work with a variety of outside sources and must be able to interact with other Recycling Yard location personnel, Regional Managers, Customers and Scrap Suppliers. The incumbent should have a working knowledge of scrap and metal grades and must know the different types of steel scrap that is charged into the furnace and the quality requirements in order to make quality finished products. The Recycling Supervisor will be responsible to ensure the proper recording of weight of incoming scrap and outgoing finished product to ensure proper acknowledgement of receivables as well as shipments for proper payment.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Supervise scrap yard personnel for the proper placement of scrap cars and trucks within the Yard safely.
- Responsible for the organization of incoming and outgoing scrap.
- Responsible for the diagnosis and subsequent solution of equipment breakdown problems.
- Responsible for proper operation and utilization of equipment to prevent damage and minimize repair.
- Responsible for initiating, writing, training and auditing personnel on procedures for the Scrap Yard.
- Responsible for the scheduling of personnel, work hours reported by the people, and documentation of any oral or written disciplinary action required.
- Coordinates with Traffic, and Sales & Purchasing Department to coordinate the timely loading/unloading trucks. In addition, duties may include scheduling overtime to work additional hours to unload customers with scrap.
- Responsible for working with the scrap inspector for the proper inspection of incoming scrap by truck. The final decision of either accepting or rejecting incoming scrap will be made.
- Responsible for leading team activities to accomplish improvement goals including facilitating crew meetings.
- Responsible for Departmental housekeeping.
The Individual:
- University Degree plus 2-3 years related work experience or 5-7 years experience in the Scrap Metal industry
- Excellent communication skills are a necessity to interface with customers, scrap suppliers and personnel.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The incumbent will be responsible for coordination of orders and order entry, implementing and tracking changes responding to, calling, and visiting customers; preparation of shipping releases; and production scheduling related to third party processing for both internal and external resources, purchase order creation, receipt of finished goods, delivery, and shipment creation all in alignment with the unique business strategy. NATURE & SCOPE:
- Responsible for the process management of products that require third party processing.

CSR I will generally be assigned smaller accounts and slightly less overall volume to manage than CSR II job due to less experience and knowledge.

BASIC FUNCTION

This position’s primary responsibility is to provide leadership to the procurement team supporting one of Gerdau North America’s business units (GSN and GLN Canada Operations). The Procurement Manager will ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services to support the production plans of Gerdau throughout the designated procurement region / business division. NATURE AND SCOPE
:
This position reports to either the Regional Procurement Manager or to the Director of Procurement with dotted-line responsibility to the relevant Business Division leadership. The Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing goods and materials in a timely, economical, and efficient manner. The Procurement Manager is responsible for the maintenance and execution of the Procurement process to meet commercial, operating, and cost requirements. The incumbent will participate in the development of tactical plans for procurement in direct support of the business unit(s) they support. This involves establishing and maintaining effective relations with the supplier base and the active execution and implementation of national, regional, and local supply contracts. This position oversees and manages the acquisition of materials, services, and equipment within the region, adhering to company standards and established commodity strategies, while ensuring the lowest total cost, desired quality, and required delivery terms.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Four-year degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or related field.
- Five (5) years of related procurement experience including a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role is required.

- Serve as a liaison with the supplier community. They will establish and maintain effective supplier and market relationships to accomplish this goal. - Oversee the acquisition of capital equipment and ensure that services are carried out according to technical specifications and meeting internal customer needs. Additional responsibilities within CapEx acquisitions will include the effective management of milestone payments; monitoring and expediting equipment manufacturing and construction timelines, and monitoring of the contractual obligations between the supplier and Gerdau. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Work involves routine tasks requiring the safe operation of forge equipment, forge checks at routine intervals, and routine quality checks to ensure finished products meet customer specifications.
- Performs forge start-up and shutdown procedures, which includes knowing the functions of lights and switches on forge control panel and platforms.
- Resets forge electrical, oil system and unscrambler breakers
- Starts up all conveyors using proper start-up procedures.
- Replaces and aligns slings on the unscrambler.
- Performs basic troubleshooting on finger and arm, stock gauge, kicker pin and springs, worn tooling, transfer lift, and bar conveyor unscrambler.
- Performs conversions, including all forge tooling, all pinch rolls and bar conveyors, and forge timing and die alignment.
- Changes, resets and aligns rounder dies.
- Checks and sets forge stop positioning.
- Performs process monitoring, measurement, and required adjustment to ensure production of quality products.
- Accurately completes daily control sheet, forge sheet, and safety inspections.

JOB SUMMARY:
The position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap appropriate for steelmaking. Under the direction of the Director - Raw Materials, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the approved plan to accomplish the objective of minimizing overall billet cost.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is primarily responsible for the procurement of retail scrap in an economical and efficient manner. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relations with available suppliers including active solicitation of new supply sources, within assigned region. The supplier base will include both established retail processors as well as suppliers whose business is conducted on a direct basis at the retail buying facilities as established at mill divisions.
This position reports directly to the Director-Raw Materials and coordinates activities with other Procurement personnel, Transportation, Melt Shop management, and mill scrap inspection and accounting personnel.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of two years experience in the buying, melting or receiving of steel scrap or similar work experience at an exempt level. In addition, incumbent should possess knowledge of sources and grades of raw materials, along with some knowledge of transportation issues and scrap yard operations.
The incumbent must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate business and must possess strong negotiating, communication, math and problem-solving skills. Candidate must function effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. High ethical standards and a strong work ethic are key attributes. Incumbent will support commercial practices based on established policies to ensure fair, ethical and productive relationships with suppliers. This position requires travel to complete job duties and maintain an effective network of vendors, mill personnel, and industry organizations.
The incumbent’s primary responsibility is the cost-effective procurement of retail scrap to support the production plans of facilities. Incumbent must stay abreast of current market trends and be aware of regional scrap markets and competitive situations/practices. Requires utilizing a network of sources to understand market activity and determine the needs of the mill/s supplied.
A key responsibility will be to provide information to other members of the raw materials procurement team. The incumbent will solicit and review competitive alternatives, assess vendor capabilities and past performance, recommend alternative sources for retail scrap and select suppliers based on information gathered. The incumbent will procure retail scrap based on the specific terms of purchase contracts within established policies and procedures, verify purchase order details, and document vendor performance.
Incumbent will work closely with Transportation to keep them informed of new methods of shipment and carriers that may help minimize overall scrap costs. The incumbent will also keep plant and corporate management abreast of changing market conditions.
This position also serves as a liaison between mill personnel and scrap suppliers. This position will provide commercial information that is used in analyzing melting and inventory requirements. Incumbent must remain aware of any changes in melting schedules or blends that will impact scrap requirements, and will assist the Director - Raw Materials in taking appropriate remedial steps needed to support operations in response to changing market conditions.
As required, the incumbent will inspect and address scrap quality issues that arise at the mill site. May be required to educate and communicate specifications, commercial terms/conditions, and safety and environmental compliance requirements to vendors, shippers, and inspection personnel.
Candidate must be knowledgeable in the computer systems and procedures used to receive, handle and pay for scrap throughout the Company and assist in resolving any problems that may arise with vendors. Candidate must actively coordinate any such issues with appropriate administrative and accounting personnel.

Job Summary:
Perform a variety of coordinating, checking, verifying, inputting, recording, and filing duties pertaining primarily to the receipt and inspection of scrap coming into the mill by truck. The primary duty of this position is to properly inspect and verify scrap grade and order number. Improper scrap identification or misapplication could result in overpayment per truckload. Operation of peddler scale, pricing, and inspection of scrap. coordinate office functions pertaining primarily to areas of accounts payable, inventory reporting, personnel administration, data transmission, and general office services. Perform these duties with a high degree of accuracy in accordance with corporate and division policy.

- Utilize electronic scale to obtain a gross weight for the load using the weighing system and coordinate unloading destination with yard personnel.

- Career & Succession (C&S): Coordinate C&S cycles, local People Development Committees (PDCs), surveys and competency assessments; ensure strong succession pipeline in the groups. Work with leaders to ensure employees have strong development plans to support career growth.
- Compensation: Ensure uniform interpretation and application of wage and salary policy to provide internally equitable employee compensation; help maintain job descriptions and evaluations on an accurate and current basis. Communicate total compensation opportunities to employees and respond to employee questions related to applicable Compensation plans and programs.
- Benefits: Perform benefits administration and communicating benefits information to employees. Support employees in answering leave of absence questions and submitting employee leaves in our system (SAP Success Factors).
- Employee Services: Maintain accuracy and protect confidentiality of data for all employees, including but not limited to organizational structure, job and compensation details, and personal information. Assist as needed in resolving employee concerns related to Payroll, Time & Attendance (UKG), HRIS (SAP Success Factors), etc.
- Employee Relations: Counsel leaders on employee relations matters, including employee discipline, and resolution of employee grievances. Conduct investigations based on reported incidents. Conduct mediations between employees and leaders as needed.
- Performance Management: Coordinate performance reviews and performance improvement processes for all employees; ensure consistent application of corporate policies and procedures.
- HR Policies/Procedures: Administer human resources plans and procedures for employees; assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Separation: Facilitate separation of employment as needed for both voluntary and involuntary separation reasons.
- Record Keeping: Establish and maintain adequate personnel records for past and present employees through our system, SAP Success Factors.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in human resources, business administration, or related field
- 5-7 years of related experience

Job Summary:
Operate all mobile equipment including loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, flatbed trucks and others to transport Melt Shop and/or Refractory materials. Assist other Melt Shop personnel as instructed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile equipment including loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, and flatbed trucks to lift and transport materials.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on vehicles and mobile equipment, which includes fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.

Your Qualifications:
- Successful completion of electrical entrance exam.

Job Summary:
The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed.
Under the safety standards of Gerdau the laborer will learn to operate mobile equipment and perform general maintenance duties on machinery. The laborer must have strong communication skills and use them at all times to ensure safety among co-workers, truck drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all of the established Gerdau safety, environmental, and routine procedures specific to the yard
- Operate the fork-lift while progressing towards loader operation and material handler operation to assist in the loading, off-loading, and sorting of scrap materials
- Inspect incoming scrap against quality and environmental standards with a progression towards grading and purchasing scrap material
- Apply deductions to non-conforming materials through effective communication with the scale house or yard inspector
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC)
- Detect and report faulty tools, equipment, environmental hazards, and safety hazards to a supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Provide excellent customer service
- Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau
Locations with Rail:
- For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure non-conforming objects have been removed from incoming scrap vehicles such as gas tanks (drained and removed), propane tanks, and batteries
- Ensure radioactive materials are removed from inbound/outbound scrap material and quarantined properly
- General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
- Assist in non-ferrous sorting and processing as directed by non-ferrous operator
- Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability
- Problem solving input and contributions as required
